Authority Monetisation Lab - 16 + 17th 2025 April, Gold Coast: Early Access Pricing available for a limited time only:  Off Script, Retreat for consultants, advisors and thought leaders in Queenstown - 12 + 13h November 2025:  _____________ Most experts spend years honing their skills, deepening their expertise, and earning credibility. But hereâs the truthâexpertise alone isnât enough to cut through the noise, create impact, or scale influence. The professionals making waves in their industries arenât necessarily the smartestâtheyâre the ones who know how to package and monetize their expertise in scalable ways. I call these Authority Assets. They are the difference between experts who have knowledge and authorities who create frameworks that do the heavy lifting for them. Experts know a lot. Authorities know a lotâand can articulate, package, and distribute their knowledge so others can use it. In this episode, weâre diving into: â What Authority Assets are and why they are the ultimate form of leverage â How top experts build and monetize them â Why theyâre the best investment for your career and business â A simple framework to start building yours today đ What Are Authority Assets? Many professionals believe that years of experience alone will land them high-value roles as fractional executives, consultants, advisors, or board directors. But experience alone isnât enough anymore. Authority Assets help you own your space and create demand for your expertise by turning knowledge into something people can buy, follow, and implement. The 3 Core Types of Authority Assets: 1ď¸âŁ Signature Frameworks â Your unique, repeatable approach to solving a problem (the foundation of the Trusted Authority). 2ď¸âŁ Monetizable IP â Courses, toolkits, playbooks, and licensing models that allow others to apply your expertise at scale. 3ď¸âŁ Scalable Service Models â Group advisory, retainers, and subscription-based consulting that create predictable revenue without trading more time. This is the difference between selling time vs. selling transformation. Why Authority Assets Are the Best Investment You Can Make Weâre all in the business of exchanging value. Most professionals trade knowledge for money (traditional employment) or money for money (stocks, real estate). But whatâs still underutilized? đ Monetizing intellectual property (IP) assets. đš Stocks â Unpredictable, market-dependent. đš Property â Expensive, slow to generate passive income. đš Crypto/Startups â High risk, low control. What Trusted Authorities Invest In: â A methodology that can be licensed, sold, or scaledâso their expertise generates revenue without their direct involvement. â A signature framework that sells itselfâmaking them the obvious choice in their industry. â A digital or service-based product that creates recurring revenueâso they stop trading time for money. đš Higher ROI â Monetize what you already KNOW instead of relying on external factors. đš More control â Unlike stocks or real estate, you determine the value of your Authority Asset. đš Scalability â A framework, licensing model, or course can be sold 1,000 times without extra work. đš Long-term equity â Your methodology becomes your legacy, shaping industries and businesses. Think of BrenĂŠ Brownâher research on vulnerability is now embedded in corporate training, books, and leadership programs. She doesnât have to be in the room to monetize it. Her Authority Assets do the work. â ď¸ The Expert Trap: When Knowledge Alone Isnât Enough Many professionals stay in the Expert Zone foreverâfocusing on more certifications, more experience, and more skills. But more knowledge doesnât always mean more demand. đš More degrees donât automatically create more opportunities. đš More experience doesnât automatically increase value. đš More skills donât automatically make you in demand. This is what I call The Expert Trap. Professionals think that if they keep improving their expertise, clients will naturally come. But in reality, thereâs no automatic link between how much you know and how much you earn. đ From Expert to Authority Asset-Builder The top 1% of professionals donât just collect knowledge. They extract, package, and monetize it to create scale, influence, and long-term wealth. Hereâs how to start shifting into Authority Asset-building: â Step 1: Define your value propositionâwhat transformation do you deliver, and how are you different? â Step 2: Extract your IPâdocument your process, framework, or methodology. â Step 3: Package it for scaleâturn it into a method, toolkit, or training. â Step 4: Monetize beyond 1:1âsell it as a licensing model, productized service, or recurring offer. Experts trade time for money. Authorities create scalable impact through assets. ___________ Ready to become the go-to authority in your industry? Save your spot:  What better time than the end of the year/ beginning of the new year to take some time and space out of your normal day to reflect, plan and get excited for what's next. In this episode, I break down how to did my planning for 2025 and also share the different formats and runsheets you can use for your own retreat. Key Points Covered: 1. Why Consider a Retreat? Busy schedules often leave no room for thinking or planning strategically. Retreats help recharge creativity, gain clarity, and reset your mindset. Ideal for transitions, creative blocks, or refocusing on your vision. Not about luxury; it's about creating intentional space for reflection and planning. 2. Step-by-Step Retreat Planning Step 1: Set Your Intentions Identify your purpose: Recharge, make decisions, or brainstorm the next phase of life or work. Tailor the retreatâs structure to match your goals (e.g., solo reflection vs. group collaboration). Step 2: Choose the Right Location Select an inspiring environment away from daily distractions. Options: A beach house, cabin, or co-working space with a view. Balance: Quiet personal reflection vs. stimulating group discussions. Step 3: Design a Flexible Agenda Avoid overloading the scheduleâleave space for unstructured moments. Suggested structure: Morning: Journaling, meditation, or physical activity (e.g., exercise). Midday: Reflection or solo brainstorming; review past performance and feedback. Afternoon: Focus on actionable plans and next steps. Evening: Unstructured time for relaxed conversations or personal downtime. Flexibility allows for deeper insights and spontaneous breakthroughs. 3. Tips for Maximising Retreat Outcomes Include activities that align with your intention (e.g., journaling, brainstorming, strategic planning). Use feedback (e.g., 360 reviews) and data to gain clarity on your goals. Solo retreats: Spend time reflecting on personal and professional growth. Group retreats: Facilitate meaningful discussions to spark collaboration. Special Ideas for Your Retreat Agenda Future Self Immersion Day: Visualise long-term goals and reverse-engineer the steps needed to achieve them. 360-Degree Reflection: Review feedback from peers or clients to uncover blind spots and areas for growth. Strategic Planning Sprint: Dedicate time to developing clear, actionable plans for the year ahead. Key Takeaways: A retreat is an investment in yourself and your vision for the future. You donât need weeksâjust a few intentional days can bring clarity and fresh energy. Make 2025 your most focused and inspired year yet by creating the space to think.  __________ Ready to become the go-to authority in your industry? Intro: The second you stand still, you are already falling behind. This is how Iâm feeling right nowâit's time to make big changes. The world is evolving, and so are key players. Maybe Iâm just me being in my own bubble, or maybe itâs a sign of the times, but lately, Iâve noticed significant shifts: C-suite executives and founders are leaving their organisations, startups are merging with bigger companies, and established professionals are either experiencing layoffs or taking the plunge into new ventures. A notable trend is founders who, after cashing out and taking a break, are ready to dive back into the gameâbecause doing nothing gets old quickly, especially for high performers. Whether youâre in transition or just observing, todayâs episode will cover the biggest mistakes people make in personal branding so you can avoid them and get it right from the start. ====== It may just be my feed, but Iâve noticed an explosion of personal branding content on LinkedIn lately. While building a presence is key, itâs not just about being visible; itâs about being strategic and positioning yourself effectively. Understanding the fundamentals of leveraging your brand is what makes or breaks your efforts. So, letâs dive into three common misconceptions about personal branding that can easily lead you off track: 1. Being in the Spotlight vs. Shining the Spotlight Why This Matters Now: With AI and automation reshaping content production and consumption, your originalityâyour unique story, experiences, and personalityâhas become a key differentiator. Audiences are more discerning, seeking leaders who stand for something meaningful, rather than just self-promotion. In a competitive world, itâs easy to think personal branding is about being the center of attention. Particularly in Australia, where thereâs a concern about being seen as 'too much' or overly self-promotional, the idea of personal branding can be daunting. However, effective personal branding is not about being self-centered but about shining a light on what truly matters: your cause, company, or ideas. A common struggle is a lack of clarity about what you want to be known for or an absence of a solid framework to showcase your expertise. Without clear direction, you risk falling into the trap of producing unfocused content that doesnât resonate. Example: If youâre working on a new digital tool, create content that explains its benefits and how it can solve specific problems for your audience.  Action Steps: Define Your Purpose: Clearly articulate the mission or cause your personal brand represents. Tell Stories: Connect past experiences with future goals. Share anecdotes that illustrate your impact and values. Micro-Narratives: Share small, relatable stories that connect with your audience personally. These can be daily experiences or small victories that reflect your values and mission. Value-Driven Content: Focus on providing tangible value. Share what youâre currently working on and how it can help others, making your content more engaging and relevant.  2. Time Management Why This Matters Now: In todayâs fast-paced and unpredictable world, waiting until you "need" a strong personal brand is a luxury you canât afford. Building your brand consistently and strategically ensures that youâre never caught off guard and that youâre always ready to take advantage of new opportunities or navigate unexpected challenges. You donât start with building your Personal Brand when you need to [aka youâre exiting a business and plan for a career pivot or new business venture, your role looks like it will be made redundant, youâre launching a new offer, you name it]. Strategic timing is essential because otherwise it can backfire on you as people can see through those intentions. By consistently investing in your brand, even when things are going well, you avoid the panic that comes with sudden shifts. Itâs about building a brand thatâs resilient and adaptable, ready to pivot when necessary. Iâve been saying for many years [and very likely many years to come] that your personal brand is one of your most valuable assets, and like any asset, it requires regular attention and maintenance. By building your brand continuously, you create a resilient and adaptable identity that can weather sudden shifts and pivot when necessary. You also donât just work out for a week intensively if you want to have a healthy and strong body. You make it part of your life and lifestyle and also experiment occasionally with new ways to train to not only keep yourself interested and motivated but also your body is a bit of a shock to the system. Example: If youâre an executive considering a career pivot, start building your personal brand by sharing insights relevant to your new industry. By the time you make the switch, youâll already have a presence in that space. Action Steps: Proactive Branding: Treat personal branding as an ongoing process rather than a one-time project. This ensures youâre always prepared for changes. Consistent Content Creation: As Priestley advises, regularly produce content that reflects your values, expertise, and personality. Maintain a steady flow of valuable insights without overwhelming yourself with daily posts. Networking and Relationships: Priestley emphasizes that personal branding extends beyond online presence. Engage consistently with your network, attend events, and collaborate with others in your field. This ongoing relationship-building reinforces your brandâs presence and adaptability. 3. Not Thinking Like a Media Company Why This Matters Now: No matter the industry or profession you are in, itâs competitive and loud. Everyone has [or claims anyway] to have and be the best in [you name it]. So how do you decide which and who actually shares the same values as you, has an angle that resonates with you based on what you want to achieve and most importantly- who you also like and trust because you simply gel. This and more is what content allows you to showcase. Think about it - in the end, it always starts with communication and conversation. Content is what starts a relationship in 2024 and beyond, given we live in a digital-first world. Creating content also allows you to do research on steroids and tune in to the conversations that are happening, social listening to topics and concerns your current or future target audience has and with that, be ahead of refining their messaging. This is what makes you stay relevant as well as lead the conversation for what you want to be known for. Example: Write guest posts for industry blogs or participate in interviews on relevant podcasts to expand your visibility. Action Tips: Know Your Positioning: Many struggle with content creation due to a lack of clarity about their stance. Define your point of view and content pillars to guide consistent content development. Content Calendar: Plan consistent content in advance. Use a calendar to align your insights with current events and discussions, ensuring relevance. Engagement Strategy: Social media should be a two-way street. Engage with your audience, respond to comments, and participate in conversations to build relationships. Long- and Short-Form Content: Use different platforms effectively. Use social media for awareness and conversations, while leveraging platforms like podcasts or blogs for deeper engagement. 3rd Party Collaboration: Boost credibility and reach by collaborating with others. Guest on podcasts, speak at conferences, or contribute to industry publications to expand your visibility and social proof. Conclusion Personal branding isnât just about self-promotion; itâs about strategically positioning yourself to make a meaningful impact. By addressing these misconceptions and implementing the action steps, you can refine your brand and enhance your presence. Becoming a trusted authority in your industry isn't easy. It's a journey that requires consistent effort and the right actions. We live in a world filled with knowledge, data, and information, which levels the playing field and intensifies competition, one crucial factor sets you apart and positions you as the chosen one: your reputation. As the saying goes: Your reputation is your REP - the reason everyone pays you. It's not just about credibility; it's your currency, influencing how future decision-makers perceive and trust you. As Warren Buffett said: 'It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.' If you think about that, you'll do things differently. Letâs dive in to explore ways you can build, protect and control your reputation.  Strategy 1: Face-to-Face / One-on-One relationships Invest time in building strong, face-to-face relationships because being with someone in person fast-tracks the trust and relationship building because we can see and observe how someone behaves, how they act and communicate. Personal connections and positive word-of-mouth play a significant role in attracting paying clients. However, donât confuse face-to-face with offline only. Video is the next best thing after being with someone in person and you can use it to send someone a personalised short message, add video to a proposal or shoot a short, 60 sec video that you use for social media where you let people get to know you, personally and professionally.  Strategy 2: Professional associations When I research for my Trusted Authority framework what it takes to build and boost credibility, I found that there are only 3 ways to do so and I summarised them in the 3-Oâs: Own, on the go and others. Other peopleâs reputation and credibility is often used to fast-track the trust building because we associate ourselves with someone whoâs already established a strong and trustworthy relationship with someone we want to get closer to. It may be that you join an industry body, that you volunteer at a professional association and become a member in networks where you can not only learn from but also find potential new clients, suppliers, partners or staff. So brand building by association is a great way to enhance your own credibility and improve your reputation!  Strategy 3: Have A Plan for Conflict Resolution [Before You Need It] Conflicts, disputes and upset people happen. Itâs how we deal with them that makes all the difference. This is where a solid risk mitigation plan comes in - developed before you need it so the emotion is taken out of the equation and you can think clearly, you can align the language to your brand positioning and you can practice how you approach the situation. Every tough conversation is an opportunity to build stronger relationships when done right, meaning: when both parties can save faith.  Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) TM, verified badges, digital certificates, and everything in between - itâs safe to say that in today's world of abundant information, access to knowledge, and the rise of deep fakes, we're all searching for whoâs legit and who we can trust. This is where the legal side of branding steps in, and itâs safe to say, it can be overwhelming.  Figuring out what's what, where to start, and how to protect yourself and your intellectual property can be a real challenge.  As we are going deeper into the topic of developing your signature frameworks around your IP and monetising it, we can't ignore the business and legal side of things. And if you think it's not crucial or relevant to you, think again because we're also talking about trademarking your name, aka your personal brand. Thereâs no better person to shed some light on this usually quite dry topic of law than todayâs guest: We crossed paths last year at the Tropical Innovations Festival in Cairns, where she served as the MC for my keynote and wowed the audience with her keynotes. The one big difference between an expert, often the best-kept secret, and an authority, the Go-To in their industry, is mastering the art and science of communication. The importance of cut-through communication is nothing new, but I truly believe itâs becoming more sophisticated and more complex in 2024. Why? Because the expectations are higher, the competition has increased, and the tools available are endless. So, there is no excuse in 2024 not to elevate your executive presence and brand through effective communication. The question is - which aspects of communication should you focus on? Being a leader has always been challenging but Iâd argue that itâs now more challenging than ever before as weâre facing more complexity, more uncertainty and of course, consistent change which comes with a new set of challenges and opportunities. Since the way we work, act and live is changing, we also need to rethink leadership, reprioritise their contribution and focus on skills required to navigate this landscape. Who wouldn't love to have a glimpse into a crystal ball every now and then? đŽđ But the next closest thing to preparing for the future â with a more scientific aspect â is to talk to a futurist. And that's exactly what we do in this week's Trusted Authority - The Podcast interview. We're joined by Dr. Elissa Farrow, who specialises in working with companies and leaders to reimagine the future of their industry and business, assisting them in bridging the gap between the now and then. This conversation was beyond fascinating as we dove into aspects of this topic, feeling like we were opening a can of worms. In the end, we're not only facing more challenges but also more complex situations than ever before, without being able to follow a 'paint-by-the-numbers' approach, simply because we've never had to deal with these kinds of events before. But this is what we have to come to terms with: Disruption is the new normal and to prepare for whatâs next, we need to be able to anticipate and respond to change, no matter the role, profession or industry we are in. And the only way to reimagine what the future might look like is to learn and apply the art and science of futures thinking.  Dr Elissa Farrow gives us a glimpse of how we can do that and a lot more: â The role of a futurist [and how to see what's ahead in 50+ years] â A recap of trends, changes and updates that shape what's next â What the future of work actually means and how it will look like â The impact of Ai and working in a hybrid [AI + Humans] world of work â Skills to focus on to future-proof careers and businesses â How to make decisions [without having all the answers] Connect with Dr Elissa Farrow on Linkedin: Visit her website over at: ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) 2024 is here, and if 2023 has taught us one thing, it's that change is inevitable, and disruption is the new normal. Being able to look around the corner and prepare for whatâs next is how you can not only future-proof your career, your team, and/or your business but create an economy of one! The question is - what is ahead in 2024, and how does it impact the ways we build authority, influence, and impact? No matter which camp you find yourself in regarding AIâwhether you're an enthusiast or a skepticâone thing remains undeniable: artificial intelligence is shaping the future in ways we couldn't have imagined just a few years ago. With constant changes and evolution happening literally daily, there are, of course, numerous concerns and questions regarding its impact on skill sets, careers, and industries.  In this episode, we are joined by someone who not only stands at the forefront of leveraging AI to shape the future of work but is actively creating it. We initially crossed paths through a company where he held the position of Head of Architecture, and I was engaged as a consultant to assist them in developing their brand and marketing strategy.  Between then and now, Denver has founded and successfully exited multiple startups, serving as an architect and senior technology leader over the past two decades. Since childhood, Denver has maintained a passion for emerging technologies, a passion he carried throughout his career, including completing his Bachelorâs Degree in Computer Science from London. Inspired by the potential for technology to unlock more of our human potential, Denver developed expertise in AI and machine learning, which ultimately sparked the vision for Zeligate. We live in a knowledge economy where information is not only easily accessible to almost everyone but is also free. Over the last few weeks the focus has been on pivoting, reinventing and shifting gears and thatâs been for a reason because Iâm in the midst of my 4th pivot and only slowly getting a clearer picture as to what it is. So I wanted to set the scene, start the conversion and taking a leave out of my own book and work out loud. Now I havenât quite worked out as loud as I would usually do it myself, simply because I still tried to figure things out and get clearer with my own words and set ups etc myself Now I'm excited to share that, especially the last couple of weeks, have given me a lot of clarity because I spoke to my mentors, gathered feedback and also made it public in front of selected groups, like a business community that I joined last year and became now an alumni so the alumni lunch actually was the first time I said out loud what i was thinking and the support and offer to help that I got in form of introductions, things to look out for etc have been beyond amazing. And since it has been a while since I did a BTS episode and also shared a bit about my journey and how i personally and professionally prepare for whatâs ahead, I thought itâd be the perfect opportunity to bring an interview that I recently had with the fabulous JR Lowry for his podcast show called the Career Sessions, Career Lessons. Did you know that the level of trust is directly correlated with your profitability, especially when you're in a serviced based profession? And: it's now meaurable and trackable. This week's episode will give you mindblowing insights from a research this week's guest conducted as part of her MBA studies and trust me when I say: you want to take notes because trust is becoming the competitive advantage [in pretty much every industry and profession]. Why? Because whilst everyone is still talking about us being in the knowledge economy, what Iâm already excited about is the next iteration thanks to the rise of AI, deep fakes and their likes - the trust economy. In the end, whether we engage someone or not - may it be a person, a company or brand comes down to how much we trust. But it doesnât stop there - trust also impacts the profitability and likelihood of being sued and prosecuted.  However, it has been hard to proof and make it measurable - until now because todayâs guest has done ground breaking work as part of her MBA program where she researched trust in professional services, in particular for lauders. is this weekâs guest and for those who havenât had the pleasure to connect with her yet, do yourself a favour and reach out to her. Not only is she an accomplished Executive Leader, with a decade of expertise in steering growth, innovation, team development, process efficiency, client experience, and quality behind her but she has also held the pivotal position of Chief Marketing Officer at McCarthy Durie Lawyers, where she orchestrated firm revenue, spearheaded innovation, and ensured rigorous compliance.  Her track record is punctuated by the successful implementation of automated customer feedback systems, with new development on AI and CRM integrations, and the achievement of substantial revenue growth milestones. This conversation delivers the goods and you may want to listen it a couple of times as Michelleâs findings are beyond fascinating and a good wake up call for professional services to prepare for this next trust economy.  Connect with ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Leaders realise the importance and value of turning their employees into brand ambassadors and elevate the company brand through personal brands. However, a common concern that comes up is the worry pretty much every company addresses with me: that their staff's LinkedIn profiles were attracting recruiters and their talents are getting poached left, right and center. First things first- It's a very common challenge that many businesses face but doesnât have to be when done right. In this episode, I share the 3 distinct levels to your organisation's LinkedIn strategy and how everyone's role should be reflected online to get to the desired goals: Level 1: External-Facing Force - Your sales and business development champs. They're the ones who connect your products and services with the customer. Think business-to-business as well as individual sales professionals whose role is to get new customers on board and would be the one who're attending client meetings, pitches and delivering presentations. Their main audience are - you guessed it - decision makers in companyâs your organisation is targeting and they want to see everything but statements like âexceeded sales targets in 2023 by xx%â and therelike. Noone wants to be part of another trophy or become a statistic so we need to focus on the experience those people would have, what makes your sales and BD force different to work with and also - what makes this particular person unique? This is where hobbies can come in but also personal stories and achievements like climbing Mt Everest or selling lemonade from the age of 8 years etc. This is where you can be intentional with the story you choose that supports the individualâs position in the organisation Level 2: People Leaders, Managers and the Executive Powerhouse - Whilst the main audience for your external facing team is future clients and customers, the role that people leaders and managers play on LinkedIn is to not only be a brand ambassador for the products or services the company offers but also to attract and recruit the best talents. Especially the younger generations of talents are looking to work for leaders who they can learn from who they look up to and who they aspire to be and be associated with. In terms of content - it should be a mix between educational content for the products/services but also a âbehind the scenesâ - how meetings are conducted at the organisation, how values are lived as a team, how individuals are getting rewarded and recognised for their contribution etc. People at this level are also responsible to create and nurture industry partnerships and adding credibility to the organisation as decision-makers still check whoâs ultimately responsible. In the end, we simply want to translate the role we play in our day-to-day online because as a leader and manager, your role is to get the best out of people and by focusing on the individuals, may it be through internal recognitions, promotions, pay rises and there likes, we want to do the same online. Having said that- there is a function on LinkedIn which I donât recommend - not only because I absolutely hate it but also because Iâve never seen anyone nailing it or getting much traction. Itâs the ârecognise co-workerâ sticker which is so generic and couldnât be further away from a personalised recognition. It may be just me and youâve had a different experience. In this case, send me a DM and let me know what and why it worked because I always love to be proven wrong. Level 3: The CEO- A CEOâs profile is incredibly important and has multiple functions: From adding credibility to potential customers and clients to attracting the best talents to contributing insights to the wider industry as well as sharing the companyâs vision (which in return attracts potential customers, clients and talents) rather than just sharing current projects and updates, being the one who introduces new projects which also helps to build goodwill with an audience when you take them on the journey, explain the rationale behind the decisions and the impact it will have or not have. Itâs basically risk mitigation and crisis management before it happens and I work with a lot of emerging and advanced tech leaders especially in the AI, crypto and NFT space who are or will be facing push back for one or many reasons. This brings me to the last point - content and communications strategy. Optimsing your LinkedIn profile is one thing but driving traffic to it through content to increase your reach is another. However, reach isnât everything. But relevance is and this is where cut through content comes in. If your posts starts with âreally excited to be here at conference xxâ - or âgreat opportunity to join the teamâ - stop right there. These bland posts havenât worked since the early 2000âs so donât waste your time and energy on them. Add some flair and flavour by explaining the backstory, sharing a behind the scenes photo of the team, celebrating your teams or clientsâ success and/or summarise learnings from attending a conference. This is what people are interested in - not the information but the wisdom aka: how can you do the thinking for others and make it relevant to them which brings me full circle- we need to know who weâre ideally wanting to get in front of and âtalk toâ (also virtually) because your profile and then your content is an easy decision and execution from there. Some of the CEOâs who are doing a fab job are Vishen Lakhiani (founder and CEO of Mindvalley), Alex and Leila Hormozi (both founders and CEO/ COO of acquisition.com) going all in building their brand, Gary Vee of course has been doing for a long time and wonât stop anytime soon either So here you have it - if your LinkedIn profile doesnât work for you when the objective is to leverage the team as brand ambassadors to build and grow the company and does the heavy lifting for your role, the reasons are either a) being too focused on individualâs achievements b) lack an alignment with the strategy or c) not creating engaging and captivating content. ______________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Building a personal branded presence or personal branded business doesnât mean you have to do it alone and you definitely donât have to do it all. Truth told- Iâve had support for many years across various aspects, from designing content to setting up systems, automating workflows, building sales funnels, ⌠you name it, I probably had help and today Iâm very excited to bring on the powerhouse whoâs making this magic happen - Lyra Almoite is joining us in this episode.  Whilst her official role is an OBM (online business manager which we talk about in the episode what that even is), Iâd consider her more of a team member and part of the furniture because not only do I trust her and her team 100% but her leadership skills are next level [and she is definitely someone we all can learn from].  I point out a couple of profound things she said in the conversation when it comes to building a team, scaling your impact and getting results that go above and beyond the job description - so whether youâre in a corporate leadership role or youâre building your own team, you will get a lot out of this conversation.  Connect with Lyra on Instagram: Check out Lyra's website: ____________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Where to focus first - your personal brand or your business brand, especially when it comes to monetising your IP? Whatâs the difference between your executive brand and leadership brand? And how can you best build an ecosystem of all of the above to create ripple effects from one to the other? This and a lot more is what we cover in this episode.  Personal Brand: This is all about who you are as an individual â your values, beliefs, strengths, and the unique qualities that make you stand out. It's the perception people have of you as a person and I always say itâs the basics, the nitty and gritty and yes- the unsexy part of building your presence because it involves asking [yourself] all the tricky to answer questions, the questions no one else asks you when you grow up like whatâs important to you, what do you believe in, what should other people remember about you, and so forth. But when we have this aspect sorted, the rest - aka the marketing of your point of difference is the easy part.  Leadership Brand: Still starts with your personal brand as you arenât [and shouldnât] be 2 different personas in your professional and your personal life but since your responsibilities are different and the type of people youâre with are different, your own behaviour needs to be different. However, the actions you take still need to be in alignment with your personal brand as otherwise, you will burn out if you always try to push uphill [meaning: youâre always trying to be someone youâre not or lobby for something you donât believe in]. You can do it but a) only for so long and b) people can sense it when you donât fully stand behind your actions. So your leadership brand is all about how you lead, inspire, and influence others to get to a certain outcome.  Executive Brand: executive branding goes beyond the tactical, day-to-day aspect of leadership and role/ organisation. Itâs more focused on you establishing yourself as a strategic leader through your content, building a community, showing up online or at events etc.  Company Brand: Finally, the company brand is the public face of your organisation or the organisation you work for â its values, products, services, and reputation in the market. This is the sum of people work in an organisation, making up the culture that has then a certain reputation. ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) There are 2 ways how you can monetise your personal brand - either through building a community and giving other people access to it aka leveraging the exposure of brands to an audience that youâve grown and nurtured and either doing bonded deals or affiliate marketing. In this day and age, most first interactions happen online and itâs not just the presence of the bad but also the absence of the good that forms the perception we have about others, meaning: if we canât find someone or their profiles are outdated, we immediately form an option about this person and draw conclusions along the line that they are not up to date or their skills are not up to date and so forth. And whilst there is so much conversation and controversial discussion around whether social media is good or bad, a waste of time, truth told: it can be an extremely effective tool (if used correctly) to build your presence proactively, to take control over the narrative and with that, the perception people have about you which then shaped the types of opportunities that come to you (or not). Iâve experienced that many times over - mainly through LinkedIn these days but I also had big successes for my coaching business early on, being proactive in Facebook groups. Lots has changed since then ⌠clearly but the question is - how do you use social media, more specifically LinkedIn to your advantage, to build your brand and business without being overwhelmed and spending hours on the platform? This is exactly what this episode is all about. Trust is an interesting concept. It's invisible, it's intangible and yet, it is THE most important aspect when it comes to human interactions and relationships which are the foundations for everything beyond that. The way how we build, manage and rebuild trust has changed and continues to evolve. So naturally, questions come up, like: What is the future of trust? How will it be reflected in Web4.0? And how to rebuild trust once it's breached? This [and a whole lot more] is the focus of this week's episode where we're joined by Severin de Wit who's been exploring trust since 2020 through his podcast TrustTalks where he discusses the multifaceted nature of trust with an incredible variety of guests. Prior to that, he was an attorney in prominent law firms. In this episode, we dive deep into the importance of trust in our relationships, how it has evolved over time, and practical ways to build and maintain trust, whether on an individual or organizational level. Severin shares valuable insights on different types of trust, from interpersonal to institutional trust. We also uncover the secrets to bridging the gap between academic research and public perception, using relatable language, storytelling metaphors, and analogies that resonate with everyone. Last but not least - we also open pandoraâs box by discussing the process of rebuilding trust after it has been breached. Severin highlights three crucial elements: a sincere apology, transparency in revealing the cause of the breach, and proactive measures to prevent future mistakes. Real-world examples, including PwC's restoration of trust after the Oscars incident, will provide valuable lessons.  Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall and listen in to what coaches talk about when they get together?  Well, today is your lucky day!  Because the coaches corner is back!  The idea of getting together 3 coaches - who also happen to be very close friends beyond work - came to life early January as the regular catch ups we had over the last nearly 2 years with the 2 incredible ladies, Dr Maike Neuhaus and Leanne Hughes always sparks new ideas, energy and insights for me.   Unlucky for me (and lucky for Maike), sheâs currently travelling the world with her family so our regular in person catch ups between the 3 of us (which happened to be late long and lunches) are on hold for now.  Whilst Leanne and I are still catching up regularly for walks & talks and yes, also still for long lunches, I thought of an excuse to arrange regular chat amongst the 3 of us and so the coaches corner was born.  The conversations are always full of gold, so it would be selfish to hold back on those conversations 𤠠In this weekâs conversation, we catch up on the first quarter for 2023 where we reflect on experiences we had in the first 3 months, personally and professionally and based on what weâve seen and trends weâre closely monitoring, whatâs ahead and how to prepare for it.  Trust me- you will love this episode, wether know one or all of us or you've never been in our world. The only constant we have in this more complex world of work we live in is change so staying ahead of the curve, learning and growing your mind-, skill-, and tool set is a non-negotiable. However, especially most recently with so much conversation going on around AI and how technology can already replace certain skill sets, professions and disrupts industries, the question is: where, when and in what should you invest in to maximise your output? This is what this episode is all about as I discuss the different types of investment to make as you progress in your career. In a nutshell, they are: Early stage career (either straight after leaving Uni and/or changing careers entirely): expose yourself to as many different options (projects, tasks, environments, people, industries etc) as possible so you get a holistic understanding of the industry/profession. Attend specialised conferences and events to hone in on your technical skills. Mid-level career: start developing your parallel skill set that focuses on high level strategic thinking, persuasive communication and relationship/ network building. Senior-level career: time to give back by sharing your knowledge through either more traditional opportunities like guest lecturing at Unis but also by creating your own content (paid and unpaid) as well as collaborating with other senior professionals to curate new and advanced knowledge.  Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) While we all can speak, giving a keynote presentation or facilitate a strategy day or run transformational workshops is a different level of speaking. There is a good reason why keynote speakers have a higher rate than trainers or facilitators who educate on a certain framework or teach a specific methodology. Keynotes and pitches are designed to change minds, to inspire to take actions and to leave the long-lasting impression that triggers referrals, testimonials and of course, the required action you want participants to leave with. Youâd think that having the degrees, the years of experience, the expertise in your area would mean youâve MADE it, right? I mean, all of your professional goals have come true, and you've gotten so far! Only⌠to realise that you're either not recognised for it, you're bored with what you do, or you don't even quite know what you actually want to contribute.  In fact, getting the first few big runs on the board, from degrees to promotions to big projects seem daunting first but in hindsight, it's a walk in the park for what's next - and that's the transition from being the technical expert and executer to becoming the trusted authority, the executive in your field who's known, recognised and of course trusted for their thought leadership on the topic, not just their ability to do the work.  I know, because Iâve been there myself.  In todayâs podcast episode, I'll be covering the 7 biggest mistakes to avoid if progressing in the C-Suite is a priorty for you in 2023, why they are so common, and why I personally feel so passionately about helping others avoid them.  Not being clear on the actual goal that is aligned with your personality Thinking that another degree/ credential will be the solution Not building branding/marketing/sales skills next to technical skills Focusing on too much content, not enough context (immediately trying to answer a question rather than giving context how to come to the conclusion) Not taking initiative early, often and frequently Thinking it's only a skill and tool set and forgetting the mindset shift that's required (from IQ to EQ and from me to you and from now to then) Only seeing immediate solutions and straight lines rather than turns (also not working with a coach) ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Work, work places and workforces - they are all changing and technology certainly fast-tracks those changes even more so which means that in order to stay relevant and competitive in the market, we need to adjust to this new and next world.  The rise of remote work, with that, global teams with diverse backgrounds, a wider adoption and sophistication of automation and AI tools, seeing mass lay offs whilst facing the war for talent and the great resignation at the same time, dealing with supply chain issues, cyber attacks and a more competitive market place as well as the increased demand for mental health and wellness programs as part of employee packages - are just a few challenges and changes weâre facing. The question is - what are best ways to equip ourselves and our teams/ clients for this next and new world of work?  This is exactly what we discuss in todayâs episode: the now, the new and the next in careers and I couldnât be more excited to be joined by a leader in this field who trains career coaches and consultants in this field also: is todayâs guest. We live in a noisy world where we have more choice and with that, more competition than ever before. That applies whether youâre an employee and want to be not only considered but chosen for the promotion, managing the high stakes clients or the big budgets or youâre an entrepreneur whoâs pitching for work. The question is - how do people make the decision who to engage for a project, who to hire or to trust with this main client/ major project? They go to the person they see as the trusted authority, the one who has established a relationship with the decision maker (and that includes a non-direct one â meaning without necessarily knowing the person properly which can happen through building a strong social media presence for example as well as referrals but also whoâs proven their expertise on their topic which is demonstrated through content they shared or contributions made by speaking at conferences, podcast guesting & co. So, when your decision maker is in the market for what you do and stand for ⌠will you be the One, the Trusted Authority that they turn to? If youâre not sure that the answer is a 100% yes â donât worry because in this episode, Iâll share with you 6 guaranteed ways how you can establish yourself as an authority on your topic/ in front of your decision maker / within your community: Specialisation over Generalisation (Focus on a Micro-Niche) Develop a signature framework / syste Connect studies with stories Be where your decision makers are (Content) Sharing is caring Boost credibility through others Consistency over intensity  While it takes time, effort, commitment as well as resources to position yourself as an authority on your topic, the benefits youâll receive will be worth the investment. As the trusted authority, itâs you who gets tapped on the shoulder for opportunities rather than you having to chase them it and not only that â itâs also you who can demand more for what you do because youâve already done the groundwork of letting others getting to know, like and trust you that youâre the one who understand your decision maker by speaking their language and have a way to get them the results. _________________________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Words are powerful and written communication is one of the most important soft skills that make or break career progression and business success. It starts with words for your resume or website, followed by emails, social media captions, proposals, presentations, negotiations ⌠Being able to communicate clearly and succinctly doesnât only show leadership skills but also thought leadership that can take you to new levels. But where do you start when you have a blurry idea what to say but then struggle with turning it into a compelling pitch? How do you ensure that your proposal hits a nerve and doesnât get lost in the mix? And how do you recover when things go pear-shaped? If you canât be seen, you canât be considered. Visibility is a massive factor in whether you and/or your business is successful. In last weekâs episode, I discussed the visibility framework and strategies and tactics how you can increase your reach, no matter where youâre in your expert to trusted authority journey.  Contributing to trusted and established media outlets, collaborating with other credible thought leaders and brands is one of the ways to increase your credibility and visibility. Itâs also called âsocial proofâ, meaning youâve been âvettedâ that youâre legit and know what youâre talking about. Having said that, PR also often gets a bad rep through statements like âwhat bleeds ladsâ or manipulation and most recently, also fake news.  So the question is - what role does PR play today and tomorrow where information has been democratised? How has PR evolved since the rise of social media and what are best ways to leverage exposure to your advantage?  Whether youâre looking to build your personal public profile or you want to leverage your personal brand to boost your company and business brand- youâll love this episode. Weâre joined by Katie Martel, a 15-year award-winning brand and PR consultant and strategist and was named as . Sheâs the founder of CroftPR and helps some of Australiaâs leading brands to drive PR with purpose, meaning thereâs a greater positive purpose than just bottomâ-line results.  ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) Have you ever heard of Harvey Colemanâs model? He basically found out that there are 3 main factors that contribute to career success. These 3 factors are: performance, image and visibility. Now you might think, all 3 components are equally important but no - this couldnât be further away from the truth. His research showed that only 10% of your success is attributed to your performance, meaning how good youâre at what youâre doing. 30% comes down to the image you have aka the perception others have about you and a whopping 60% comes down to visibility, meaning: are you visible to the right people for the right reasons?  When I stumbled across his research, I was gobsmacked but at the same time, it explained a lot. What it means in essence is that you can be the best at what you do and still donât get the recognition and reward for it if others donât know about it.  This is why this weekâs episode is all about increasing visibility, depending on where youâre in the journey of being the best kept secret to being the trusted authority. Iâll also link to the process as I explain it in detail in and also where I discuss the path if you prefer the audio version.  ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Maybe you have an idea for a new product, want to get into a new industry or want to do a 180 career change but then, you doubts creep in. How would anyone take you seriously without having had any experience. Who would buy into your vague solution without having any proven success stories to show?  If any of that sounds familiar, then youâll love this episode because weâre joined by someone who tapped into the âon-the-go' credibility approach which I explained in  is the founder and MD of TalentVine, a RecTech solution that connects recruiters and hiring managers. Iâve known Justin since day dot of his journey when was pretty much just an idea and I remember it as it was yesterday when he came and visited for a chat to introduce the concept. Now, 7 and a bit years later, heâs turned this idea into a thriving business that I backed by investors, and continues to grow as it meets the demand of transparency for service solutions. No doubt, youâll get a lot out of this interview so make sure to take notes how Justin approached building his trust and credibility, especially in the early stages building when he didnât have social proof, successful case studies or even an actual ready-to-use product. ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? Here are a few ways you can get started with my resources: 1.) When you hear the word credibility ⌠What comes to mind?  Most people associate credentials, titles, degrees and status with it. Because it was the old currency of credibility, before technology democratized knowledge, certificates, years of experience. However, in todayâs knowledge economy which I argue is becoming more and more a relationship economy, thereâs more to it than just that to cut through the noise in a very competitive market. The new currency is reputational capital built on an âthe sum value of your online and offline behaviours across communities and marketplaces.â (Rachel Botsman). Credibility goes beyond credentials and that applies especially to topics and trends that are up and coming. Think of Web 3.0, NFTs or Meta - that are literally growing - thereâs no official title or education that makes you qualified to talk about them. In this episode, I discuss the credibility framework and how you can leverage it to fast-track your personal credibility, no matter where youâre at in your journey.  ___________ Want to become the Trusted Authority in your field by building and monetising your expertise? There is a misconception about the fact that in order to be a Trusted Authority in your space you have to come up with a completely new solution the world hasnât seen, or patent a product thatâs brand new or have a unique insight into a topic that has never been discussed before. And none of that is the case and todayâs guest is living proof for it. To become a Trusted Authority you need to have a relevant insight into a topic that is backed by data and stories and you need to be able to translate your insight in a way that makes sense to your decision maker. In this episode, we are joined by a guest who is doing exactly that - he zigs when others zag, he focuses on insights before actions and prefers facts, not fashion - Malcom Auld.  Mal is a marketer, author, copywriter, speaker and lecturer as well as the founder of MAD. He is regarded as a pioneer in the direct and digital marketing industries with numerous âfirstsâ in his credentials. He has worked in the US, Asia and Australia and has trained marketing executives in 20 countries. đ THANK YOU!  Chances are that you have gone through more changes and transitions in the last 12 months than in most other years before.  Covid has forced most of us to rethink the way we work, communicate and live.  And to be honest: I think this is only the beginning and we havenât seen the full extend of the permanent changes yet and what they means related to the future of work  The one thing thatâs for sure is this: the only constant is change and being able to navigate through those transitions and recognising the mental stages we have to go through every time we leave something or someone, may it be on our terms or not, is key to thrive in this fast changing world of work.  One of the biggest challenges my clients face when they go through my program trusted Authority which is very much an initiated and pro-active change is their limiting beliefs and doubts. There is always this nagging voice that makes us question if we are âready and qualified enough for itâ.  Truth told: it never goes away and when you reach new levels, you also reach new devils. To go through any transition means we are entering something unknown and our brains arenât wired to be happy. They are wired to keep us safe and in the known. However, todayâs episode will challenge this thinking and acting small approach as we are joined by someone whoâs experienced a diversity of personal and professional transitions over the course of his life, including multiple international relocations and redirections of career path: Neville Starick In this episode, we cover: what transitions mean (and why it is so important to be able to navigate through them) ways to manage emotions (the right way) how to deal with uncertainty and the unknown what holds us back and keeps us playing small  Neville has experienced a diversity of personal and professional transitions over the course of his life, including multiple international relocations and redirections of career path. These life experiences have not only developed a breadth of knowledge and a wide skill-set but has also given him a unique perspective into the process of change, all of which contributes to his therapeutic practice and his support of others personally and professionally. They have the experience and the credibility and are ready to make a bigger impact to work on a more strategic level And whilst they have everything needed on paper, they still miss out on those opportunities. This is where we usually meet because they realise that simply being the best at what they do doesnât make them being the best at landing a board role. So the question is: How do you break through and land your first or your next board role? If youâre doing the same over and over and expect different results, itâs insanity.
