The battle of clouds aims to bridge complex cloud and technology topics to the Filipino community. Bryan and Michael are friends who share the same passionate about technology. In this podcast they talk about their experiences, knowledge, and opinion about Cloud and related concepts.
In this episode, we talked about Dynamics 365 and the rest of the Microsoft suite of services around it. Together with a very passionate Doher Drizzle Pablo, Microsoft MVP for Business Apps, we were enlightened about what is Dynamics 365 and what can it do beyond CRM. We quickly talked about the difference between the legacy on-prem offerings and how the new set of products are just different and innovative. We also covered some of the integration points of Dynamics 365 such as with Office 365 (Microsoft 365) and Azure. We wrapped up by sharing our key takeaways from this very informative and engaging episode!
In this episode, we have Jonah Andersson, Microsoft MVP for Azure, talk about Serverless technologies. What is serverless? Does it really have no servers? We discussed some of the key advantages of serverless and where it is practical to use them. We also discussed various challenges that developers may experience as part of having a serverless infrastructure, as well as caveats and gotchas. We wrapped up the episode by sharing our experiences with serverless, some of the lessons learned, and what we think the future will be like.
This episode talks about databases on cloud. Data is important when creating systems and applications. Together with Pio Balistoy, Microsoft MVP on Data Platform, we discussed the different advantages of having SQL databases on cloud. We also covered when it is not advisable to put your data on cloud and some challenges that enterprises/companies face up until now. We finished by reflecting on the future opportunities you can have as part of having data on cloud.
In this episode, we have Anj Cerbolles, who is a guru in Microsoft Business Apps and a Microsoft MVP. We talked about what is "AI Builder & Mixed Reality". There is so much you can do now in terms of AI and Mixed reality without having to spend enormous effort and resources. We talked about what Microsoft offers with AI Builder and how it can easily create Mixed Reality apps. Lastly, We tackled some challenges in this approach, some lessons learned, and where the future of this product suites might be going.
In this episode, we have Stephen Vinuya, who is a full stack developer and a Microsoft MVP. We talked about what is "Firebase & GCP". Firebase and GCP (Google Cloud Platform) have a lot of overlapping services, and sometimes it gets confusing. We discussed those overlaps and streamlined which services are best suited for specific scenarios. Lastly, we ended by discussing some personal experiences and lessons learned when working with Firebase and GCP.
In this episode, we have Paul Soliman, who is an entrepreneur and a Microsoft MVP. We talked about what is "Low/No Code Apps". We discussed the advantages of Low/No Code approach in comparison with custom application development. We also tackled various cloud services integrations. Last, we ended by discussing some key challenges and lessons learned when delving in to the Low/No Code Apps journey.

We deep-dived into various offerings of cloud providers in the IoT space and their core advantages. Lastly, we ended with some blue-sky thinking on what the future could be with the emergence of IoT.

Alongside it, we also discussed topics such as difference in a VM, costs, and associated capital expenses in setting it up. Lastly, we ended with some ways we can innovate further in the Philippines with cloud.

Alongside it, we also discussed topics such as Serverless, Containers, and Microservices. In this episode, we have Milo Pacamara, who is a cyber-security professional. He guided us on what is "Security" and how we can make our cloud infrastructure resilient and robust. Throughout the discussion, we also covered the common misconception that the public cloud is not secure. Lastly, we covered some techniques and recommendations to secure not just your cloud environment but your entire infrastructure.
In this episode, we have Mac Valmores who is a thought leader in the IT space in the Philippine community. He shared his personal story of what was life before cloud. He gave his personal insight into infrastructure and development cycles in his career in IT. We also covered some of the advantages of cloud for technical and non-technical people.

In this episode, Bryan and Michael discussed the free tiers of AWS, Azure, and GCP. They covered what drives cost in cloud computing as well as what are free of charges in each different vendors.
In this second episode, the duo talks about the brief history of 3 major cloud vendors: AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP. Respective of the vendors, we discussed two different customer scenarios covering core IAAS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PAAS (Platform as a Service) about Compute and Data Storage.
