Deepika Sandhu is a Silicon Valley based Business Executive, Author of Hello Universe, It’s Me, motivational speaker and coach. She is also a mother and an online influencer. Her shared wisdom through her Instagram stories and live streams are based on the account of her real-life happenings. From the pretty, to the normal, to the not-so-great, she holds nothing back and reveals her authentic day-to-day.

“I was winning at the game of life. If I was in a giant football stadium, the big monitors over the field would be flashing in bold caps “YOU ARE KILLING IT.” Problem is, I was not only killing it. It was killing me. None of my checklists, none of my to-do lists, and none of the activities or people that were filling my life were making me happy. I was exhausted, depleted, sad, unhealthy, and just dragging myself through my days.

I needed to throw all those checklists out the window. So I did the only thing I knew how to do as a busy, overachieving, type-a personality – I scheduled a breakdown, manifested a new life. No guru, shaman, or travel to exotic lands required.”

Deepika's mission is to inspire busy, hard-working professionals to go from overwhelmed, demotivated, burnt out and exhausted to living a life that is balanced, fulfilled and joyful in every way. Now through her speaking events, courses and book Hello Universe, It’s Me, Deepika helps people just like you turn burnout into breakthroughs.

Marie Mosley is an inspiring author, motivational speaker and a coach. She's also a wife, mother and a grandmother. She joins us to talk about her deeply personal story of recovery from abuse in a toxic relationship. Marie was only 14 years old when she met her ex-husband and gave birth to their first child. They remained together for 25 years in a toxic cycle of emotional abuse, narcissism and exploitation.

Through it all, she journaled every drop of blood, sweat and tears. She kept her head held high and focused on God. She later turned her vulnerabilities into a New York Times Bestseller. The Pretty Divorce, Mosley says, is not just about her personal story of marital divorce, but a guide for others to “divorce” themselves from the things that are holding them back and weighing them down.

Currently, Mosley’s mission is to help women heal and regain their self-confidence, self-esteem, and motivation after leaving their toxic and abusive relationships. As a former Guidance Counsellor with a strong background in mental health, Marie coaches women on resilience, seeking out God’s strength, and reprogramming their mindset, from victim to hero.

Mosley truly is the embodiment of “a rose that grew from concrete.”

Welcome to Season 2! We are excited to have you here! The journey to self-love is a long and winding road but one filled with lessons for life. Mentally strong people know what they want, but it is equally as important to attain it through healthy habits. Oftentimes, when we talk about mental strength, the first thing that comes to mind is stress and levels of tolerance. Just as often, mental strength is also closely identified with flexibility, compromise and problem solving. But to achieve all of that, we must identify the things NOT to do to build up our mental strength for life's toughest situations.

From time to time, it’s important to look back in time and reflect. This week, for Black History Month, we bring you back to the year 2021, when I had the honor to sit down with SUNY Old Westbury’s Chair of Communications Dr. Wayne Edwards. We explored his deep roots as a music executive with CBS, Mercury and Arista Records (among the many others) where he worked with executive greats like L.A. Reid. Edwards was also notorious for signing the legendary MC Hammer and brought the hit U Can’t Touch This to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 charts. We also talked about his journey to academia and reflections on his days in the industry as a black male. His new book, Can’t Touch This is out everywhere. Get your copy today!
