Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is a rare but serious condition that can develop in children who have experienced severe or prolonged neglect or deprivation of caregiving during their early developmental years. RAD is characterized by a persistent pattern of emotionally withdrawn, unresponsive, or resistant behavior towards caregivers, leading to significant impairment in social relationships and emotional development. Children with RAD may have difficulty forming healthy attachments and may show little interest in interacting with others, leading to difficulties in forming friendships, engaging in social activities, and developing normal emotional responses. Symptoms of RAD typically emerge before the age of five and can persist into adulthood if not treated. Treatment for RAD usually involves a combination of psychotherapy, family therapy, and specialized care that is tailored to the individual's specific needs. Learn more in this episode.

As women, we have the power to take control of our bodies and our reproductive choices. However, all too often, we allow others to make those choices for us, and in some cases, those choices can lead to reproductive abuse.
Reproductive abuse is a form of domestic violence in which an abuser uses reproductive coercion to control their partner. This can include sabotaging birth control, pressuring their partner to have children, or even forcing them to have an abortion.
But we don't have to be victims of reproductive abuse. We can be proactive and take steps to protect ourselves and our reproductive choices. The first step is to educate ourselves about the signs of reproductive abuse and to recognize that it is not acceptable behavior in any relationship.
We can also take control of our own birth control by using methods that cannot be tampered with, such as condoms or long-acting reversible contraceptives. We should also have open and honest conversations with our partners about our reproductive goals and boundaries, and be firm in our decisions.
Above all, we should never compromise our own bodily autonomy for the sake of a relationship. We have the right to make our own choices about our bodies and our reproductive health, and we should never allow anyone to take that away from us.
So let us be proactive and take control of our own reproductive choices. Let us stand up for ourselves and refuse to be victims of reproductive abuse. By doing so, we can reclaim our power and live our lives on our own terms.

There are many theories that try to explain the differences in self-discipline, morality, and behavior among people. While there is no single "secret" to understanding these differences, some experts suggest that it could be related to genetics, individual beliefs, and the environment. It is also important to note that a person’s behavior can be impacted by their upbringing and current situation, making it important to look at the individual's entire life. In addition, it is important to remember that all people are different, and that certain moral and self-discipline decisions may be more beneficial to some than others. Ultimately, the best way to understand differences in self-discipline, morality, and behavior is to look at the individual as a whole and consider their unique circumstances.

Discipline is an important part of helping children learn self-control and develop good habits. While every family is different, here are some tips to help you create a successful discipline system for your child:
Set Clear Expectations: Let your child know what is expected of them by setting clear rules and limits. Communicate: Talk to your child about the expectations you have set and the consequences if they are not met. Be Consistent: Consistency is key when it comes to discipline. Make sure you are consistent with your rules and consequences. Be Positive: Focus on the positive rather than negative. Praise your child when they do something right, and use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior. Show Respect: Show respect for your child and their feelings. Respect their needs, feelings, and opinions. Be Patient: Discipline takes time and patience. Don’t give up if your child isn’t responding to the discipline immediately. Be Fair: Make sure you are fair when disciplining your child. Don’t discipline one child more harshly than another. Be Involved: Be an active part of your child’s life. Get to know their friends, be involved in their activities, and spend quality time with them. This will help you to understand and better guide your child. By following these tips, you should be able to create a successful discipline system for your child that will help them learn to be responsible and self-disciplined.

Everyone is the bad guy in someone's story whether we know it or not. Most people assume that they're good people despite not always having good behavior.
This weekend I'll teach on the 7 Dark Traits You Should Never Ignore. I'm titling the episode "Inner Villain" because it is important to acknowledge your own personal "bad side" or "dark side". Denying that we're flawed is dangerous and results in self sabotage.
Many people with traumatic experiences have a sort of villain origin story. Their past pain becomes fertile soil for seeds of anger, self righteousness, flawed thinking and skewed perceptions.
We often don't recognize this slow moral corruption growing within ever so slowly. Little by little that unchecked pain darkens our hearts, making us turn cold. Eventually some shut out the world, turning inwardly while outwardly burning bridges.
It's important to have honest discussions around TRUE and SINCERE personal accountability, something I hope to see normalized in the future.
As usual, I'll be live on Facebook and Tiktok. If you have a Tiktok join there where the discussions take place. What I love about my Tiktok chats is while I'm teaching, a lot of people use that time to vocalize their issues which leads others to chime in with support.

In today's climate it is harder than ever to remain uninfluenced by the insecurities provoked by social media. If you were honest you too could admit to experiencing the passing urge to seek social superiority or at least to have your sense of significance confirmed by others. It's nothing new and a natural human emotion humans experience era to era. We are ALL on the spectrum of envy.
However, some are more prone than others to jealousy and will even go so far as to advocate for a good cause under the guise of compassion, or befriend someone they secretly despise all to gain the attention and influence they feel entitled to receive.
When these plots fail, many resort to an ugly alternative attitude of proactive covetousness, backstabbing and sabotage disguising their inferiority complex as moral disdain and hubristic sanctity. Yet their core motivation is simply to attain what they feel is rightfully theirs through the leveling of someone else's popularity.
In the series I'll teach on...

On part one of this series we talked about the character traits of people with a low opinion of themselves. If you haven't already, I'd advise listening to that episode first but if you already have listened to it this means that you are aware that there are some changes needed to be made concerning your self perception.
It's not easy to admit when you have believed false ideas about yourself and even harder to decide to take action. On this episode I lay out examples of how people change our self- esteem and how we can begin to think differently about it.

Most people believe that they have a healthy self image and strong self confidence and esteem. Most people are wrong. Chances are you probably are too. The choices you make, how you think, how you treat people and even what you become are all dictated by what you believe about yourself? Do you still think you truly have a strong self image? Let's see if you're right.

Are you using Facebook or Instagram as a diary? You might be making yourself a target unawares.
How well do you know the people within your circle? Do you trust them? Tomorrow I'm going in-depth about an issue most people encounter regularly whether they're aware or not.
I'll start with the types of people who attract manipulators.
Then, I'll follow up with how to discern users within your circle.
Finally, I'll talk about how to react correctly to hidden deceivers once you uncover their agenda.
You will walk away from todays message knowing that the best thing for you is that most people see you as not bright and a waste of time.

If you’re a young couple between the ages of 18-22 this is a critical time to educate yourself on marriage. Some might say, that’s way too young to think about marriage. Wrong. That’s young to get married but not too young to start talking about it, learning about it and whether or not marriage is for you. Why do we not TEACH on marriage? We teach about academia, finances and babies but never marriage.
This isn’t the case with my family. We’ve been talking about marriage since our children were in junior high school. Why? You never know when your child will get married and additionally, your child should be taught about the most important interpersonal relationship they’ll ever have. If we’d do that we might see a change in the divorce rate. That’s another lesson for another day.
Marriage is complex and ever changing. It goes through phases, peaks and valleys. Problems are to be expected. Let’s talk about it.
You can catch the full broadcast February 14th at 12noon CST on YouTube or catch the audio only on Apple Podcasts under “LaBeaud’s Lessons” available tomorrow morning.

Before beginning any business with relatives or friends, it is important to take precautions so that you can avoid making irreparable mistakes.
If you're considering going into business or investing in a loved one there's certain things you must think about before you take the next step. First, ask yourself whether or not this person is mentally stable. In business, there are several reasons to be careful about who you do business with but especially when it concerns family. You should consider what your risk tolerance and your ability to withstand losses is and then set a limit that if breached will allow for an exit strategy.
Do they have your best interests in mind? How can you be sure? even if they do, sincerity does not ensure integrity.
There are a lot of people we care about who seem to be friendly and trustworthy but have shown us over the years in other situations that they're emotionally unstable. Though it is right to encourage and support family and friends in their endeavors, our love of that person can affect our ability to make sound decisions. Today, we will discuss why we must test first and trust later in these matters. Listen now.

What makes us want to live in someone else's movie? Are our own lives that desperate? Is there something we can do to change it?
In this lesson I talk about how to address the major pressupositions we live by that cause us to desire another persons' life and imitate it rather than carving out our own niches. We address sabotaging ideologies and beliefs that paralyze us from moving forward all the while pretending to look successful online.

Mistakes in leadership are an inherent part of the process, and while they can be upsetting and frustrating, taking accountability for them is important. Responsibility is on you to make sure that mistakes are not repeated.
Today on Labeaud's Lessons we will discuss extreme accountability. It is important to take accountability for your mistakes because it gives you the opportunity to learn from them and make changes. It also prevents other people from making similar mistakes, which means that you have less work on your plate as a leader.
When mistakes happen, it’s important to take the time to analyze what happened and what went wrong so that the same mistake doesn’t happen again. If there are specific people who may be at fault, then it’s necessary to address those issues accordingly so they do not cause the issue in the future but how often are we evaluating ourselves on this?
Growth and personal development don't happen overnight. It takes time and commitment to create lasting change in your life. However, this doesn't mean you can't learn from your mistakes. Thanks to social media, it is easier than ever for us to connect with other people and be held accountable. I'm not saying you should join a mastermind or "virtue club" or anything like that, instead I think it's important to take accountability for your mistakes.
If you are in a leadership role, you should take accountability for your mistakes. This will show that you are not just blaming others for your mistakes and also that you are willing to learn from them. Taking accountability for your mistakes will help build a better work culture where people can trust each other more. Leadership is not easy and mistakes are bound to happen but be open to the possibility that you are contributing to the problem and or there is a way you can improve it.
