This is undoubtedly one of the craziest days of our lives. We mentioned in our last post that we were invited by two employee friends at Yosemite to visit the park and then to perform for the other employees. What happened that day was unlike anything that we expected! It turned into a RAVE in the park.
Here is a video we edited of different shots throughout the day, with the live footage and audio from the evening performance.
Disclaimer: It turns out it is illegal to use amplifiers in the park without a permit. We received a fine after the "show" was over. So while that was a bit of a bummer, it is important to note if you are ever thinking about trying to do something like that at one of the national parks in America!

Hey 3speakers!
"Storm Searching"; the prologue to an ambitious, narrative-driven story that will unfold throughout their upcoming album. With a darker, more progressive rock sound, this track marks a bold new direction for the band, pushing their creative boundaries and exploring themes of struggle, chaos, and transformation.
Drawing inspiration from their experience opening for Jethro Tull and collaborating with the German cello metal band Coppelius, "Storm Searching"; takes a deep dive into the darker side of The Trouble Notes; music. The track weaves together haunting melodies and powerful rhythms, evoking the overwhelming feeling of being caught in a storm—both literal and emotional.
Musically, the track is a journey through rising tension and release, with dramatic shifts that mirror the unpredictable nature of storms. The swirling violin melodies, thunderous percussion, and driving guitar riffs create a progressive rock landscape that’s both atmospheric and intense. The Trouble Notes’ signature blend of genres is present, but here it is reimagined through a heavier and more intricate lens.
"Storm Searching"; is just the beginning—a prologue to a larger story of human resilience and self-discovery. The track sets the stage for an epic narrative about facing uncertainty, finding purpose, and navigating through the darker chapters of life. It invites listeners to embark on a journey of introspection and transformation, making this track not only a new musical direction but the start of something much larger.

In our latest adventure, we found ourselves amidst the breathtaking beauty of Gorbeiako Parke Naturala in the Basque Country. This enchanting natural park, with its ancient, towering trees and lush greenery, became the perfect setting for a moment of profound connection and presence.
Standing amongst these old, wise trees, we felt the weight of time and the whispers of history in the air. The forest seemed alive with stories, each tree a storyteller of centuries past. As we took deep breaths, the crisp, fresh air filled our lungs, grounding us in the moment.
The harmonious songs of birds from the treetops created a natural symphony, adding to the serene atmosphere. Their melodies seemed to carry messages of peace and harmony, resonating with our mission of "More Violins, Less Violence." Surrounded by such vibrant life, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace and unity with nature.

🎻✨ Welcome to the heart of Les Vosges with The Trouble Notes' "Montanari" ✨🎻
In this video, we bring you a melody woven from the threads of simplicity and joy, performed in the breathtaking landscapes of Les Vosges, France. "Montanari" is an homage to the values that define mountain life — the deep bonds of friendship, the pleasures of good food, and the warmth of family, far removed from the clamor of material pursuits.
🏞️ About the Tune:
"Montanari" is not just a melody; it's a celebration of culture, friendship, and the unspoiled beauty of nature, composed during a magical week-long residency in Berceto, nestled in the heart of Italy's Apennine Mountains. Invited by a local cultural association, we immersed ourselves in the rich tapestry of the region's folk traditions, guided by the incredible knowledge of local maestro, Mauro—an encyclopedia of folk wisdom.
Crafted with the warmth of acoustic instruments, this tune encapsulates the soul of the Apennines, reflecting the profound values of the people we met: the importance of community, the richness of shared meals, and the timeless bonds of family. Our collaboration with gifted local musicians Giacomo, Elisa, and Francesco not only enriched our sound but deepened our connection to this enchanting region.
"Montanari" stands as a heartfelt tribute to the simplicity and purity of mountain life, and to the people of Berceto who embody these virtues. It's a piece that resonates with anyone who finds beauty in life's fundamental joys and the serene landscapes that evoke them.

🎶🌲 Premiere Alert: The Dartington Chase 🌲🎶
Troublemakers, we're thrilled to unveil "The Dartington Chase" - a tune that transports you into the heart of an exhilarating chase across Dartmoor's untamed landscapes. Picture this: a daring band of thieves, treasures in hand, fleeing from the Royal Cavalry after a heist at the Dartington Estate.
Our latest creation is a dramatic, folk-infused saga where the Octave Violin and a driving acoustic guitar weave a story of tension, danger, and breathtaking escapes. The piece crescendos in a cinematic build-up that feels like it's made for the big screen, inspired by the mystic allure of the Dartmoor.
"The Dartington Chase" was born in one of our places of Creative Refuge, bringing to life the legends and spirit of the Dartmoor. Captured by Stefanie Tendler's lens on the majestic bluffs overlooking the Dart and Totnes, this music video is a visual and auditory odyssey you won't want to miss.

Hey 3speakers and Hive Music Lovers!
In the serene embrace of St Ives, where the cliffs stand as timeless witnesses to the endless tales of the sea, we find a moment of pure musical alchemy. Amidst this natural amphitheater, overlooking the vast, azure Atlantic ocean, a violin and a guitar come together in an improvisation that transcends time and space.
Filmed on the breathtaking cliffs of St Ives, this improvisation is as much a celebration of nature's grandeur as it is of human creativity and connection. It's a reflection on the journey, the stories we gather, and the universal language of music that speaks to every soul.
We invite you to join us in this moment of reflection and beauty. Let the music take you to that cliffside in St Ives, where the sea meets the sky, and where every note tells a story of hope, adventure, and the enduring spirit of exploration.

Hey Vibes and 3speak music community!
This week we wanted to share something with you that is truly special. First, it's important to note that we are fully aware that this will not count toward the official submissions for week 3 of the Vibes Web3 Music competition and will not be eligible to win, but we wanted to share it here anyway. We are full time touring artists on the road and aren't always able to have the time and stable internet access to be able to edit and prepare social media content, but it is a special experience and would be a shame to never share it here with the community.
This was played and filmed inside of the Milbury's pub in Bishop's Waltham, UK. We were taken here by some friends on an "off day" in between concerts and took one listen to the acoustics in this room and said "we need to film here..." What you are seeing is a 250year old Treadmill which was errected about a 300 foot stone well.We lowered a microphone into the well to pick up the natural reverberation of the chamber and played a new piece from us called "Sariette", a progressive version of which will be released in the next month on all of our digital streaming platforms.
We hope you enjoy listening to this piece and it will excite you to listen to the produced version in the next weeks. If you are living in the UK or Netherlands and are able to come to a show this month, we would LOVE to have you in attendance. It is always wonderful to see fellow Hive community members at our shows.
This will be posted to our X channel in the hopes of introducing more of our community to the Hive blockchain.
Good luck to all the participants in the Competition. We have seen some great submissions.
Hive on!

Hey 3speak and Hive music Lovers!
When you go to a concert, you will see the show that is prepared for you. Countless hours of rehearsal and preparation that goes into the show.. but sometimes the "real" musical moments happen in the backstage. If you've been following us here, you know that we have been full-time traveling musicians for a decade. We play 50+ shows per year across multiple continents and meet a lot of incredible performers and creatives along the way. That often culminates in a backstage "session", where we get together either before or after the show and just have a bit of a jam. Truthfully, this is where the real mooments of creation often happen.
In sessions you are experiencing a real moment of connection. You are free to make mistakes without judgment of the audience, and so you can push the bounds of your creativity. You are exchanging your vibes and passions with others. It is a raw moment of art.
This is a video of a little pre-show session that we had over the weekend. It's very folky, but we were just warming up a bit before taking the stage a few minutes later. There is something beautiful about this moment, seeing the smiles and the happiness on our faces as we jam together on a new theme for the first time.

Hey 3Speakers, DND enthusiasts and Fantasy Lovers!
The past month we've been doing a lot of fun little covers of our favorite DND music from the Critical Role and Baldur's Gate 3 world. The past years we have built an intimate relationship with the Fantasy Festival communities in Europe and began consuming a lot of the content and creating stories and roleplaying in search of inspiration.
This version of "Your Turn to Roll", the theme music from Critical Role's 2nd Campaign, is done in our Bard Rock style. We posted it up on our twitter and Sam Riegel, who is the original writer of the song, even gave us a shoutout - which was pretty awesome!
Let us know what you think! Should we do more versions of theme and game music like this?!
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=thetroublenotes/anfsgfyv
Hey 3Speak and Hive game lovers and music enthusiasts!
This weekend we bring you a reimagination of the track "Weeping Dawn" from Baldur's Gate 3. The song is one of the more sweet and beautiful ones from the game, sung by Alfira when you first meet her in the Emerald Grove. So - inspired by the Dark Urge character, we imagined a scene where he comes back to the Grove to burn it down with Minthara, and as it burns he plays Alfria's beautiful song in a dark, gritty rock style!
This one rocks hard! Hope you enjoy it Gamers! What tracks should we do next?
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=thetroublenotes/hklnjpom
Hey 3Speak and Hive Gamers!
We have got a special gaming inspired cover for you today! This one is a beautiful song written by Borislav Slavov for Baldur's Gate 3 called "Weeping Dawn". It is sung by Alfira and is one of the softer and more beautiful songs of the game. Some of our followers on X had the idea that we should do our own Rock Violin version of this track. It didn't feel like Alfira's song anymore, SO, we imagined it being played by Dark Urge as he burns the Grove to the ground. It's like the Ultimate Troll....
Do you like thsi version? We've done most of the songs from Baldur's Gate 3 in the past weeks and are thinking to release a full album of DND/BG3 music.
What songs/games should we do next?
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=thetroublenotes/kszpwsux
Hey Vibe and Hive Music Lovers!
This is our 2nd week entry for the Vibes Weekly music contest. The tune is an older one from us called "Duke of the Bello", written about our early years on Portobello Road in London back in 2013. Since we're off on tour for the next 5 weeks, we thought it would be fitting to play the song about London, where we end the tour!
If you're located anywhere in the Southern-half of England or the Netherlands/Belgium, we would love to have you at one of our shows next month! All the details are on our website: http://www.thetroublenotes.com

3speakers and Hive music lovers! What a tune!
We've posted up a little rendition of "Gerudo Valley" from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. One of the best games of the franchise and the soundtrack is a HUGE reason why! Brilliant music. We really felt like we were in Spain when we played this one.

3Speak and Hivers!
We've been having so much fun remaking all of this game music from Baldur's Gate 3. The Rock “Bard’s Dance” version you didn’t know you needed. Go Bard or Go Home. Killer suggestion for one of the more beautiful tunes from the game. What should we do next?
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=thetroublenotes/tyehfqiw
Hey 3Speak!
Happy Saturday! The past week we have been doing daily covers of Baldur's Gate / Critical Role songs on our Web 2.0 social media channels and there is one that turned out really special! We were asked to do a Metal version of Rafael's Song from his final bossfight in the House of Hope. It's a brilliant sequence and the music in the fight is among the best of any bossfight I've ever experienced.
We posted this video on Twitter and it was even reshared by the Composer, Borislav Slavov. We honestly appreciate the respect and the feedback it has received.
So if you have the rock in you and love Dungeons and Dragons, we hope you like this video!
Thanks for listening.

Hey 3Speakers and Hive Music Lovers!
Here is a vibe for you! Yesterday we filmed a video of our tune "The Train". This is because we realised that we don't have any videos of us shredding as a duo and with all the shows coming up, organisers were asking about what the sound is like without drums.
This track is probably the fastest we play and is packed full over power! We LOVE it with drums, but it still has quite a bit of energy even without the percussion. What do you think?
Thanks for listening!

About "Montanari":
Nestled in the heart of the Apennine Mountains lies the quaint town of Berceto, a place where history and music intertwine through which runs the ancient Via Francigena. It's here, inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and the rich cultural tapestry of this historic route from Rome to Canterbury, that "Montanari" was born.
This tune is a heartfelt homage to Berceto, the Apennines, and the vibrant spirit of the local community. Composed in collaboration with Mauro, a local legend and an encyclopedia of folk tunes on the accordion, "Montanari" captures the essence of the land and its people. Our journey to this beautiful melody began with an invitation from Giacomo, Francesco, and Elisa on behalf of their cultural association, leading us to collaborate and create something truly special.
Performing are:
Bennet Cerven - Violin
Florian Eisenschmidt - Guitar
Filmed by Stefanie Tendler

Hey 3speakers!
We're happy to be posting our first entry into the Vibes Web3 Music Contest. First of all a big thanks to @lordbutterfly for pushing this. It's an important moment in the Crypto space right now with so much enthusiasm rushing back. BTC halving, ETF and upcoming regulartory clarity is going to see Billions of fiat pour into new/current projects and it is important the HIVE stands out. This competition will do well to attract new users and hopefully we can keep a lot of them around and enthusiastic about supporting Hive as a L1 chain for future endeavors.
The track in our entry is "Liberty Awaits", an original that is the title track of the album we released last year. It is dedicated to my late grandfather Leon, but speaks more broadly about Irish Immigration to North America in the 19th Century. This is an acoustic version performed in our performance room at our studio in Dresden.
We have been working on a lot of new music. You can be sure that this will be the first of many as we continue to perform each week for the contest! Thanks for listening and supporting.

Hey 3Speakers!
We are so happy to be in southern Ireland! It's been rather foggy the first days we arrived in Ireland, but when the fog dispursed and the sun popped out, we knew it was time to explore Crotty's Lake. Tucked away behind the smallest peak of the mountains is a gorgeous little lake known as "Crotty's Lake", named after William Crotty, a kind of Robin Hood-esque type of character.
We spent some time taking in the sites before we took out our instruments and played a little tune. This one is called "Magnolias" and featured on our album "Liberty Awaits".
Enjoy!

3Speakers! We have officially arrived in Ireland! Today we had our second great experience exploring the beautiful countryside of Waterford county. On a grey, overcast day shrouded in mist, the landscape had a special mysticism about them today!
This video is an improvisation channeling the energy of the stones. Enjoy an ethereal moment in Ireland with us.

Hey 3Speakers!
Last week we spent the afternoon exploring the famous Moritzburgerschloss in Saxony. Rising to international fame from the 1970s film Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel, the castle has been a major tourist attraction in the region. Built as a hunting estate for the August the Strong, Duke of Saxony, it is in many ways the pinnalce of Conspicuous consuption.
True to form, we brought our musical instruments with us while exploring the grounds and felt inspired enough while standing infront of the Fasanenschlösschen to record this video. A healthy mix of "serious" melodies and energetic fun, it's a nice representation of the spirit of our group.
Enjoy listening!

Hey 3Speakers!
Our team has changed quite a bit the past months. Our longtime drummer Oliver left the group and we brought in two new full-time members to replace him. It has been a whirlwind. Our new team is shaping up to be quite strong together and we felt it was finally time to give people a taste of what's coming. Last week we had a few days "off" that we could use to focus on some live videos. We wanted to produce something of a high quality that showcased the live performance as it stands. Using a combination of our own video equipement and some of the extra cameras from Centre Films GmbH (with whom we share an office), we recorded a multi-cam live session of us performing some of the songs from our new album.
We've spent the past day doing some first edits and mixing the sound. For a live recording, the audio is quite good. They punch! It was a way of testing some of the new analog recording gear that we picked up over the last months. Needless to say we are quite happy with it!
This video is a snippit of the performance of "Liberty Awaits", the title track from the album. It gives a feeling for the direction we've taken as well as the quality of the live videos! Hope you enjoy!

"The Trouble Notes are like nothing I've ever seen before. Their musical influences take you on a journey around the world. You can't help clap very loudly, tap your feet or spontaneously jig along to their music! An absolute must-see!!" - Faye Hatcher, BBC Radio
Hivers! Right now the More Violins, Less Violence is underway! We have a full tour schedule and will likely be passing by a city near you this year. It's always great meeting Hive Community members at shows. Come say hello!
https://3speak.tv/watch?v=thetroublenotes/qnysijvd
It started with a dream. The Trouble Notes was born out of a desire to see the world and to contribute to its beauty. We use the universal language of music to empower people and tell stories of strong characters we have met through our travels. Our team comes from different corners of the world, having different traditions, but with the same goal of sharing our passion with others in the hope of uplifting others. And while our music continues to spread far and wide, we believe it is our artistic duty to help foster creativity and opportunity for future generations.
We started the More Violins, Less Violence campaign as a way to help foster peace and contribute to a better world. Through the sale of our More Violins, Less Violence T-shirt at each concert (and online), we are contributing 5 Euro of each sale to SOS Children’s Villages, an independent organization providing humanitarian and developmental assistance to children in need and advocating for their rights globally. In 2022, SOS Children’s Villages launched an emergency program to support children and families in Ukraine through support for foster care, kinship care, boarding schools and residential institutions. In the past year they have provided immediate support to thousands of children, cooperating with local partner organizations by providing food, supplies, psychosocial support and foster care. Their presence in neighboring countries helped absorb refugee children and help provide the advocacy and resources needed to ensure they have a sustainable future.
By buying a T-Shirt or supporting our campaign, you are both ensuring that we are able to continue our musical mission of spreading joy and unity in diversity, as well as helping support a better life for future generations affected by violence of war and broken homes. We’re very happy to share an ethereal collaboration between The Trouble Notes & Benny Bettane. We first met Benny at the Pantribe New Years Eve party in Belgium. Benny is not only one of the premiere handpan players in the world, he is also a top class person and friend of our group.
To start of the year, Benny and Bennet wrote this song together and posted a reel on our social media channels that had a lot of views and engagement! Finally when we arrived in Kortrijk, we had the chance to meet again and this time work on the song with the full group! This video was filmed after jamming around for an hour together in the Magnolia's House in Kortrijk, Belgium. Indeed it is not the most exciting setting in the background, but the sound and the energy in the room was really great! There's a great combination of spiritual melodies and groovy rhythms!
More about Benny Bettane: Benny Bettane is an Australian handpan player, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is an international solo performer based in Belgium, with performances spanning throughout Europe and North America. Benny is a pioneer of handpan composition and performance. He explores the creative bounds of his instrument through new fusion collaborations with musicians in multiple genres, including world music, jazz, funk, electronic music, and rap. Benny is additionally a sound-healer. His collaborations with yogis and spiritual teachers worldwide have earned him a reputation as a handpan musician with a healing gift.

It's been a pretty incredible month here in the UK for the "More Violins, Less Violence" tour. Yesterday we were invited to tour the grounds of the Snape Maltings complex, playing in the fields and on the main stage.
Every time Carola sings on this track it gives us goosebumps...

Hey 3speakers!
We just received this video that was recorded at Admiralspalast during our performance at the "Champions Slam" live in Berlin. The event is the apex of the Poetry Slam community in the city and over the last years we have become kind of a "house band" for their events. This song is a new one from our album Liberty Awaits, which will release officially in April 2023.

Pearl d'Alsace pays homage to our adopted home city of Strasbourg.
Pearl d’Alsace is an ode to the city of Strasbourg and its importance to the group. The city sits at the intersection of many cultures and calls to many both within France, but also across Europe. It is for this reason that Strasbourg has been a center of gravity for The Trouble Notes, our music sits at the intersection of many different styles.
The song is folky and beautiful, but holds within powerful modern builds and rocky guitar lines influenced by Rodrigo y Gabriela, for whom we opened at La Laiterie as a part of their Grammy-Award winning “Mettavolution” tour.
Within the song we combine the 3 different styles for which our group has become known: Folk Fusion, Instrumental Rock and Acoustic Dance Music. There is no better way for us to pay homage to our adopted city.
The video clip that started it all. Posted by @MinuteBuzzz in 2016 with the title "Violinist from another Dimension":
A big thank you to our Strasbourg Sister Stanne Husson, for showing us some beautiful spots around the city.

Hey 3Speakers,
A few weeks ago I found myself in the quaint little mountain town of Berceto in the Appenine Mountains in Northern Italy. The Trouble Notes had been invited by our friends Giacomo, Elisa and Francesco for a 2 week residency in the mountains. There we would spend time together and write folk tunes inspired by the mountains.
On our last afternoon in Berceto, I wandered with my violin into the courtyard of the medieval castle, now in ruin. The castle is beautiful, the air crisp and spiritual. As I stood there, the bell of the cathedral began to ring (a perfect F) and I took my violin and improvised this melody in the wake of that sound.

Benny and Bennet met at the Pantribe New Years Eve party in Belgium. After watching each other perform the following night, we felt there would be a synergy in our songwriting style and sat together in the the meditation room to compose a song together. What you are watching is the result of that collaboration. This was filmed at Koningsteen Centre in Kapelle-op-den-Bos, Belgium.

A call to embrace the fantastic, wonderful and weird, “Never Dream Alone” showcases the band’s quintessential classical-cross-over style, holding elements of an epic film score within the structure of a modern Folk Pop song. The fantasy-tinged violin melodies and string arrangements are a nod to the epic scores of the genre, while the operatic vocals of Carola Zerega and Bennet Cerven carry the message of unity in diversity. On full display is the energetic rhythms of the mind-blowing percussionist Oliver Maguire, whose unique hand drumming techniques elevates the listener to new heights. Florian Eisenschmidt’s rock inspired riffs on guitar are the backbone on which pianist Frederic Dubois creates the harmonic soundscapes that shape “Never Dream Alone” and bring the listener into a fairytale realm with unity at its core.
“‘Never Dream Alone’ is an epic ode to the dreamer,” says Bennet Cerven, Violinist for The Trouble Notes. “It was an easy song for us to write because we have always identified ourselves as such. We wanted to create a piece of music that captures the fantastic spirit of our favorite films and stories while being inclusive and easy to sing along to!”
Sitting between traditional folk, modern classical, and tribal dance music, The Trouble Notes have traveled across continents in search of musical influences to give listeners the unrivaled music of the generation. The band has proudly built its diverse audience independently, known colloquially as “The Troublemakers”-- a testament to their self-made success story that has led to significant festival appearances, multiple film scores, and an extensive tour schedule spanning the globe. In 2017, a series of videos of the band performing on the streets in France and Germany went certified viral, amassing more than 100 million views on social media and bringing them international notoriety. They recorded their debut album “Lose Your Ties” at Riverside Studios in Berlin, Germany working with Lebanese producer, Khalil Chahine. The album was released in February 2018 and peaked in the top 10 of the iTunes charts for their genre in France, Germany, and the USA. Their music has been featured in award-winning films and documentaries, and their headline “Lose Your Ties” Tour featured sold-out concerts in Europe and North America. They have performed live on television in the USA, Japan, Brazil, Germany, and France. And in 2019, they toured supporting Rodrigo y Gabriela as a part of their Grammy Award-winning “Mettavolution” Tour.

Have you heard our latest single "Never Dream Alone"? A Fantasy tinged epic Folk-pop song about kingdom of Elfia! https://song.link/gb/i/1660008331
Last month we were invited to do a 6-Track Live recording session for Stabal TV in London. A few weeks prior to the filming, they asked if we would be willing to do a version of the Christmas song Up on the Housetop in our style. While sitting in our rehearsal room in Devon, we got the bright idea to turn the old Xmas classic into a foot-stomping Folk-Americana tune that will have you and your family dancing around the living room. When we first saw the video, we all had to smile - it's pure Holiday fun!

Hey 3Speak,
How do you get to the Royal Albert Hall? Practice, Practice Practice.
It's a dream of ours to one day play a concert in that building in London. On an off day while strolling around Hyde Park, we thought it wise to set up outside of the RAH and play a song in the hopes that one day we can manifest a performance there!
Dream big, that's our motto these days!

This song video hard. 🤘Bennet might have grown up a classically trained violinist, but his father's love for Rock and Blues had as much an influence on him as his mother's love for classical music. Oliver's dad was a tour manager and roadie for Motörhead back in the 70's, having his first drum lesson with Phil Taylor when he could barely walk. Florian's love for grunge and hard rock was the first thing that gravitated him to the guitar. Sure, we love our folk, jazz, and classical music - but face melting rock will always be in our hearts.
When we first stepped foot in Louisiana back in 2018, we had spent weeks in the American south listening to some of our favorite Blues and Rock musicians. The energy of Americana with the raw power and drive us Blues Rock was something we wanted to capture in a song. While out on the Bayou we began to hear melodies, inspired by the Appalachian folk music that ends in the Mississippi delta. With all of those savory ingredients, we mixed up our own "blues" gumbo and named it "Bayou Blues".
There is a version of this song on our Spotify as a part of our "Super Bloom" album. It was in the earliest days of having written the song and it is a bit more tame and acoustic than how we now play it live. This version has all of the head-banging, fist pumping energy that courses through our veins every time we play it. Likely going to release this audio as a single in the coming weeks IF enough of you want to have it available for streaming!
We wanted to capture this raw and crazy energy in a one-shot video filmed by our brothers Martin and Eric from Centre Films!

Hey 3Speakers! This is the big one! The best cinematic video we've ever produced.
Liberty Awaits is an epic paying tribute to the great immigrant voyage. “The initial idea for the song came when trying to pay homage to my late grandfather, Leon English.” Says Bennet. “His ancestors fled hard times in Ireland and crossed the Atlantic in search of a better life. I wanted to highlight the importance of that journey to my very existence.” While drawing influence from the Great Famine that led to the death and displacement of millions of Irish, the song is meant to tell a broader tale of the migration saga and transcontinental journey. Featuring on the track is Ecuadorian singer Carola Zarega, who along with the band, channeled her own experiences when contributing to the recording.
The track begins with a melancholic violin melody. Eerie string arrangements and the dreamy vocals of Carola Zarega create a contradictory soundscape that leaves the listener a feeling of hopeful despair. An upbeat folk dance coaxes the listener from the trance, representing a kind of “last hurrah” before the perilous journey across the sea. Carola’s vocals soon take on a new form, as the song breaks from the traditional dance and becomes more pensive. The band creates an emotional soundscape on top of which Carola’s vocals float above the waves, the melodies both apprehensive and courageous. The journey begins to accelerate as the ship battles the elements before excitement builds at the eventual site of land. Suddenly the listener is brought full circle, with the reemergence of the folk dance, this time with more nuance. The voyagers have arrived in a new land but have not lost their traditions.

With their first single this year, Mayahuel, The Trouble Notes romanticize the story of their friend Martha Xucunostli. A powerful female character, she traveled across an ocean from her native Mexico to Belgium for love. While searching for her place, she must navigate the balance between her native traditions and those of her new European home. Drawing strength from Mayahuel, the Aztecan goddess of fertility and maternity, she seeks to contribute to the local culture by fusing traditions. This gave birth to "Mayahuel": a fusion of traditional Mexican Mezcal and Belgian brewing. For more information on Martha and Mayahuel Tripel, visit the following: https://linktr.ee/tripelmayahuel
Tripel Mayahuel Contains Alcohol, Please Drink Responsibly.
In finding influence for the song, The Trouble Notes sought to pay homage to one of their largest musical influences, Grammy winning Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. After watching videos of Rodrigo y Gabriela busking on Dublin’s famous Grafton Street, Bennet first gained the courage to try playing in the streets of New York City. Fast forward 6 years and the band was touring France/Switzerland in support of their musical heroes. The melodic lines and guitar rhythms extol the repertoire of the duo, while maintaining a unique voice and texture that has defined the sound of The Trouble Notes for the past decade.
A special thank you to Carola Zerega and Olivier van Bettsbrugge for performing with us on the song. Carola shares a similar story to that of Martha, having traveled from her native Ecuador across the sea eventually landing in Kortrijk, Belgium. Her talent is truly awe-inspiring, with a pure energy and powerful spirit that captivated us from the moment we heard her sing. A critical member of the Magnolia collective, she is a true artist in every sense of the word. Her collaboration on "Mayahuel" is the first in a series with us, including featuring on two tracks on our "Liberty Awaits" Album. Discover her music and follow her story through her instagram profile: https://www.instagram.com/lazerega

Hey 3Speakers!
Over the weekend we played in the Zaubergasse Theater Festival in Meissen, Germany. These festivals always feature some incredibly interesting performers who push the boundaries of their artform and create quite the spectacle! On our final day at the festival we were sharing a pitch with Musical Theater group Felice und Cortes, whose show is a mixture of incredible theatrics, comedy and musical talent. Felice has a lovely voice and her husband Cortes is a serious talent on the drums. While watching their show, he began doing a series of Juggling acts sitting behind a drumkit... The audience's mouth dropped as they watched a circus performer lay down beats on a drumkit while juggling the sticks high into the air. We then got an idea....
Let's have a little jam and pull out a few tricks of our own. What ensued was a brief moment of awesomeness, as we all improvised in the streets before a young girl shows off her acrobatic talents and ends with an impromptu smile. Her facial expression basically sums up the entire moment perfectly....

Hey 3speakers!
Our EU4YA Street Music festival is almost here and to do some last promotion we played a set at Feldmusik on Templehofer Feld over the weekend. Run by our friend Christoph and his entire Templehof 100 team, they organize a monthly session where they bring local artists to play on the old American airbase in Berlin.
We handed out hundreds of Flyers for our festival and are very sure that it will have helped to bring more people to Breitscheidplatz over the weekend! If you know anyone living in Berlin, send them our way this weekend (8-10 July 2022).

Beatboxer Jack Salt and percussionist Oliver Maguire have a little battle on a Bristol Rooftop. We met Jack during our last stay in Bristol through our friend Natasha, and were totally impressed by his skills with the mic. After a few jams together the night before, we set up Olly and Jack on the roof and let them just "go for it". Incredible skills from both of these talented lads!!!

Our first performance at Glastonbury was something to be remembered! For years we had dreamed of the day when we could spend a few weeks in the UK and perform at Glastonbury Festival, and finally after the 2 years of Pandemic, the performance was set to happen. After two excellent weeks in the UK traveling and performing at different events, we arrived at Worthy Farm filled with excitement!
This video was taken at the bandstand on Greenfields, where we did a warmup concert for our performance that evening at Croissant Neuf. When we started our performance, the Green Field was relatively empty. Most people were wandering around the grounds looking for something interested to see, as it was Thursday and all the mainstages were still not active until the following day. As soon as we begun, the crowd started forming. Hundreds of people flocked to the music and they began to dance and give us loads of energy! Just watching this video back gives us goosebumps....

This year we had an incredible opportunity, having been invited to perform at the Summer Solstice festival at Stonehenge in Salisbury, England. Just shortly before sunset on the 21st June, Bennet took his violin out and serenaded the sacred stones. Such a reinvigorating experience!

Hey 3Speakers!
Flying high from the performance at Kite festival, we continued west to Bristol. There we would meet our friend Natasha who was the most gracious of hosts. We spent Monday exploring Bristol and doing a bit of busking in the center of the city. The sun was out the entire time we were in Bristol and the city was truly alive. Natasha lives in a lovely house in the Easton neighborhood and her roommates are lovely people. One of them, Jack Salt, is a really great beatboxer. While sitting in the garden having some breakfast, we got the bright idea to make a video all together on their rooftop. This is a song we’ve been still arranging and jamming with the past month, it’s very “summery” and we feel it was the perfect team and setting to have a little jam on the rooftop.
This song was so much fun to write together, that we invited Jack to perform it with us at Croissant Neuf at Glastonbury! It was a special moment.
This UK tour was truly something special for us! Over the next weeks as we dig throuh the trove of material that we have, we will be cutting videos of the best moments and telling stories from the road.

Hey 3Speakers!!
We have a special version of this video just for you!
This summer we will be making a highly anticipated tour of the UK with appearances at Glastonbury Festival, Summer Solstice at Stonehenge, Kite Festival and Wickham Folk Festival. While over in the UK we will be doing a series of concerts in different cities across the country. To pay a little Homage to one of our favorite UK artists, we decided to do this special instrumental cover of Massive Attack's anthem "Teardrop". Elizabeth Fraser and Massive Attack wrote one of the most iconic pieces of music of the 90's, an instrumental version of which featured as the title track of the famous television series "HOUSE" starring Hugh Laurie. The song has touched many including ourselves and inspired us to write better music. We only hope that this cover does the song the justice that it deserves.
Like the mural behind us? It is an original piece from Berlin LEGENDARY street artist "El Bocho". See more of his work around Berlin or through his website: https://elbocho.net/.
More about the artist:
"El Bocho is a Berlin based artist. He has been working on the streets since 1997 and is by now amongst the most famous and visible street artists in Berlin.
Communication and references to urban life are the main components of his work. El Bocho considers himself as an observed observer. It is important to him to work outside the art scene, as this reaches an audience that does not visit art specific locations like galleries or museums. El Bocho picks up the reactions of the viewers and uses them in his works. This creates a constant flow of communication with the public.
El Bocho has appeared in national and international books, magazines, newspapers and exhibitions. The artist was featured in different tv shows, such as German, Hungarian, Israelian, American and Hongkongese productions.
In July 2009 El Bocho completed the World’s largest tape art piece of the world in Berlin. 15.000 meter of tape were used on 1100m² at the front of the Stattbad in Wedding / Berlin. In November and December 2009 he was an artist in residence at the Red Bull House of Art in São Paulo / Brazil."

Hey 3Speakers!!!
We come to you today with a new composition from Aix-en-Provence.
The song is called "La Sarriette", which is the name of a famous herb from the region of southern France and has become synonymous with "savory".
The Sarriette is the name of our home here, a small cottage on a farm between the Mont St. Victoire and the Centre Ville d'Aix.
Over the years we have spent much time here, writing music and even recorded Super Bloom inside the house. This composition was written inspired by our return and is dedicated to our friends Marion, Jude, Denis, Lisette and their families who have opened their homes and hearts to us over the years. It is through their kindness that we have been able to nurture our creative spirit and take inspiration from the magical landscapes of the region.

Hey 3Speakers,
Was standing in a hallway with great acoustics and some trippy lighting and felt it needed some cosmic violin.
Enjoy!

Hey 3Speakers!
About last night... we had an evening of fun in the studio, jamming around some different themes that we would like to incorporate in our new album. This one, a little funky, was captured during the jams.
This album is coming together nicely. We are really excited to share it with you all later this year.

Freddy Dubwise has arrived! After three weeks in the studio, Maestro Pianist and dear friend Fred has arrived from Metz and will join us for a few songs on the new album. We wanted to reconnect on the first day, and so we set up all the mics and just started to jam and play together, then things went wild.
Performing on this video is:
Bennet Cerven - Violin
Florian Eisenschmidt - Guitar
Oliver Maguire - Percussion
Freddy Dubwise - Piano
Filmed by Stefanie Tender in Kortrijk, Belgium

What's happening 3speakers!?
Week two has just ended here in our Belgian Studio and we are right on schedule! The first 5 songs of the album have been recorded and we are spending this weekend editing them before we move to the next songs starting on Monday. Everything is sounding Great and we are really in a good place! To Celebrate, we took out a few new instruments and had a little Friday evening Jam session that culminated in this video!
Hope you enjoy!

Hey 3Speakers!
Got my hands on this beautiful new Octave Violin from Peter Volkmer and wanted to give a little demo of some of the beautiful melodies you can write with it! The tone is warm and pensive, something that opens a lot of possibilities for me as a composer!
