Episode 10: How to find great furniture pieces on Facebook marketplace?

Keep in mind who’s listing. Search in simple terms and multiple terms.
- Night Stands may be under bedroom furniture, bed side table, nightstand
- Search in local pickup areas (get rid of shipping if you’re looking for a true bargain)
- When looking for a leather sofa, you may get vinyl pieces because not everyone knows vinyl from leather.
- Look for styles. i.e. Chesterfield, French provincial.
- Don’t search for terms like: antiques, modern, contemporary. They are too subjective.
- If you need 6 matching chairs, search 6 chairs. Don’t worry about 6 upholstered chairs or 6 wooden chairs. Keep it broad.
- Search by well-known brands you know and love. Pottery Barn, Arhaus, Restoration Hardware, Ballard Designs, etc. You never know what gem you find someone giving away.
- Tips for how to know if something is genuine leather or not. Genuine Leather, Faux Leather, Leather Match, Bicast, Bonded, etc.. Generally, you can tell by brand. If it reclines, its most likely not full leather.
- Don’t worry about color. You can always paint it or stain it using ALL-IN-ONE Paint products.

- Remove the leaf from your table except for large dinner tables
- Take off the table cover if you have one. Enjoy the finish on your table.
- Update linens on your table
- Add in different and larger captain’s chairs to break up a matched set
- Recover fabric on chairs if they’re outdated
- Paint your pieces!
- Remove heavy drapes and opt for lighter fabrics
- Update the light fixture
- Update or add a pretty centerpiece to your table
- Change out art (or add it!), Consider mirrors to reflect light.
