Hi everyone,

So instead of writing, i wanted to show some of my games i played today. i started with my game against @madchess64, A game which i played so well even with little time. my nigerian olympiad friend sacificed a knight for three pawns early in the game which neutralized my center, However, i was able to stay balance to win.

the next game against @tangibleay made me realized today's tournament was pure luck. even after leading, i had to play incredibly fast to win the game in the end.

shout out to @stayoutoftherz. chess on hive continues tomorrow on! check @sam.chess for more details.

It's midnight, got this recording app and just wanted to share my thoughts. I actually slept off while uploading and woke up to a failed upload.

still 2:40am, so I'm reuploading.

In this recording, i talked about one of my posts. "Which version of yourself is best" I pondered and looked a particular view.

Hello everyone,

I am glad to have you all in a new Hivechess lecture where we will be looking at another endgame tip. Like I mentioned in part 1 of the series, I am going to be sharing a couple of chess endgame tips that you should have in mind when playing chess, in case your game gets to the endgame stage, like a lot of chess games tend to.

You can use this link to check on the first endgame tip I gave:

HiveChess Lecture: Endgame Tip 1

If I can get to five endgame tips, I am sure it will be helpful and go a long way.

In this post, we will be looking at the endgame tip number 2.

Tip 2: Attack Weak Pawns

A lot of chess endgames are going to get decided by the presence of a pawn. It could be a passed pawn or an extra pawn, but in the long run, it will play a role. I like to think of it this way: the pawns are one point at the start of the game and during the middlegame, but for sure at the endgame stage of the chess game, that pawn might have grown some strong muscles. This is why it is important to pay close attention to the number of pawns you have and how you give them away. It could come back to haunt you in the end.

Our case study chess game for this lecture will be the 2021 World Chess Championship match Game 11 between Ian Nepomniachtchi with the white pieces against Magnus Carlsen playing the black pieces.

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. d3 Bc5 5. c3 d6 6. O-O a5

The opening played is an Italian Game: Classical Variation, where both sides concentrate the focus of their play at the center of the board and restrict any form of counterplay chances at the flanks of the board, either the kingside or the queenside.

The entire game was equal for both sides until Ian Nepomniachtchi made a structural blunder by playing g3 on his 23rd move.

23. g3

This move set the requisite for the loss of the game for white. Although it may look like a natural attacking move on the white rook on f4, in the long run, it would create weak pawns around the king when Magnus gives up the exchange, the white rook on f4 for white's knight on e3.

24. Qxg4

Black finds the best continuation and brings his queen into the game by first giving a check on the white king. If you look at white's position, you will find a lot of weakness, especially weak pawns. The ones on f4 and f2.

Now, the main part of this tip comes into play

40. h3

You will notice how black has maintained the extra pawn he gained when he gave up the exchange on move 23. And that is not all, by clearing the pawns on the kingside when he played Qxg4, it left a long-term endgame advantage that would bring him the win. Enough space for his passed pawn on the h4 file, heading up to it, promoting.

This goes to prove that one should pay close attention to their pawn structure; they are the soul of the game. It could be the deciding factor for you to win the game.

Lastly, when your opponent has a pawn that is standing on its own or far from its other pawns, that pawn is considered to be a weak pawn. Look for how to attack it and plan to capture it for free. That little pawn could be the endgame winner.

That is a wrap for this endgame tip. See you in the next tip.

I used to play EaFc mobile on my Samsung note 10 before, I think I got addicted to it. For more than a year since I returned to using an IOS device, I totally forgot I could play again.

One of the reasons I stopped playing was the app was frequently crashing and the network was always bad. Lost so many games through bad internet.

An IOS Game TestIt feels the same and even better, There has been improvements over the years as seen in my video.

  • The Graphics are a lot better. As an Arsenal fan I feel my players look very much real.

Bukayo Saka; Our Star boy Celebration was spot on!

  • controls are easier: I tried everything. dribbles, I even tried scoring from outside the box (worked even though it was on easy mode)

Off topicI won the test game against man city, which happened to win Arsenal the league.

could this be a sign? I hope so, Nothing would give me so much joy than to see us win the premier league. It’s never happened since I started watching football. I was 3 years old the last time Arsenal won the premier league Title!

ConclusionBack to playing games on my IPhone, I’d start more gaming review, I look forward to another detailed review of this game and also many others. Interestingly EaFc Mobile has a very good Reddit group of devoted players. Not so bad to share some EaFc hive links there :)

Hello everyone,

I competed in the Hive chess 960 tournament hosted by @sammy00. I couldn't finish the event because I had a class but I had above 30 minutes of playing on record with analysis, thoughts and unfolding drama!

I lost the first game in a middle checkmate! very dramatic as I was eyeing one as I got caught up. I just hope viewing the content is possible as it might just not be in a suitable video view as I used my phone today and not computer. I think it's going to be best viewed on 3speak website.

Hello everyone, Today is @eddiespino's Birthday. Among many other things, Eddie is a very good friend and Guardian to me. I didn't know today was his birthday early, I could have prepared better.

Along this post is a short video I made to wish him a happy birthday, It also shows wishes from some friends. I have wishes from @pacoandujar & @starstrings01.

3 Things I've Learnt From Eddiespino / 3 cosas que he aprendido de Eddiespino * Hard Work pays: Eddie is one of the most hardworking man i know on Hive. I wonder if he ever gets to rest! I admire is hardworking spirit and it motivates me to work hard too. When i spoke to him on my interview, I got to see the amout of work he puts on a daily basis. It's a whole lot.

  • Stay Humble: Even with the Amount of Work he puts in, He still remains very humble and approachable. I never feel uncomfortable talking about anything. He is always ready to listen and always responds!.

  • Improve your life by Learning Everyday:

Eddie once said "Take it (Hive) Step by step, Don't get over frustrated if you don't understand everything right away. None of us did, not even the witnesses on hive understand everything on the first day."

One thing I've learned from Eddie is to keep learning and improving. No matter how difficult something can prove to be, we all can do it.

El trabajo duro paga: Eddie es uno de los hombres más trabajadores que conozco en Hive. ¡Me pregunto si alguna vez llega a descansar!

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while I did a video and I'm so excited to share this one with you. @finguru wrote a very good article explaining reasons why you should publish at least one post everyday on Hive.

7 Reasons Why You Should Publish A Blog On Hive Everyday While I think it is a great article, I believe it is not an easy feat. I've tried it and failed so many times. I finally succeeded in writing everyday throughout the last month.

In this video, I shared tips on what you need to do to write daily.

For those that might not watch the video, here is a summary.

Tips / What you Need to know For Blogging Daily on Hive.

  • Votes are Not Guaranteed!:

Yes, Writing everyday gives you a better chance of earning on Hive, However you need to know that votes are not guaranteed and you can't always expect to be rewarded high everyday. I explained this point with an example. You can make a $10 post 7 times which amounts to the same thing as blogging twice and earning $35 each. What I'm saying is, if you intend to blog everyday for more rewards, you would likely fail especially if you are a newbie.

  • Stay Motivated:

This is another important thing. You need to have a driving force that would enable you to keep showing up everyday. Finguru in his post listed benefits for daily blogging and I think those are really great reasons to do so. Another one is you get Hivebuzz badges created by @arcange if you blog daily. I was happy to get one recently!

  • Create a Writing Timtable:

Honestly, It's easier to accomplish your goal of blogging daily if you set a blogging time. I used to write everyday from the hours of 3-5am every morning. Choose a convenient time and write! Don't forget that you can always post anytime, Scheduling posts can also work well!

  • Hive has so many communities & Contests and Prompts - Use them!

It's easier if you spread your wings, there are so many communities you can write in. I have mine, Most of my articles are either book reviews, movie reviews, Chess or talking about my minimalist lifestyle. Find yours and daily blogging would be easy.

I hope you found this video and content helpful. Feel free to check my Hive series below. You can see my conversations with Hivers around the world in two different seasons.

What a start to an Hive chess season!

I have alot of excuses for my performances but even on my best day, it would be difficult to see myself on the podium with tha names and ratings I see there.

While I wait for @stayoutoftherz to identify who the winner is, I must say, if he plays all, It would be next To impossible to stop him.

I couldn't record my gameplay so i made a video to highlight and analyze some games played in the tournaments. I would resume my Hivechess study too during the weekends to cover more games.

I would appreciate more views on my videos and support as I would actively be supporting the price pool better than I did in previous seasons.

The first game featured the tournament winner's game against CM @sawko , I think black was better and should have traded queens and enjoyed the two bishops minor ending.

Second was my win against @beyondhorizonmm , I think it was a great game decided by one pawn.

The last game was between my onboardee @iammanythings1 and @kintokris - They battled again today and it was a very dominant play by the latter.

According to @iammanythings1 on the phone, he says Hive chess is very hard.

What do you think? Is this going to be the toughest seasons ever?

25% of HBD rewards on this post would go to @chesspricepool, I still have difficulties doing it automatically when it comes to videos on 3speak

Game week 3 was terrible for my team and many others. The obvious reasons were the struggles by the big teams. With Man city and Liverpool both conceding more than two goals, it was bound to affect alot of people.

In today's video, I did take a (-12) hit as I changed 4 players in my team. I explained reasons why players like Bukayo saka, Pedro Neto and Ruben diaz and De Bruyne had to go. I replaced them with the following players.

Mohamed Salah (MID) Selected by up to 60% of fantasy managers around the world, the midfielder is a must have. I was initially skeptical about his performance this season howver, he has proved me wrong totally. With Liverpool yet to register a win this season, I believe he would rain alot of goals in the upcoming fixtures.

Saint-Maximin (MID) This guy impressed me. He seem to be just too good. He has recorded 18 points in total already this season.

Rodrigo (MID) Can this guy be stopped? Maybe. But not certainly with the easy fixtures Leeds have. I think he was a better choice to Bukayo Saka.

Zinchenko Arsenal have had it flowing in the left, At $5.2, He is a very cheap and good choice and including him made way for Salah!

What do you think about my new team ahead of game week 4? Feel free to reblog and comment. Thanks, I appreciate the views alot.

In my last video, I shared my team for the season and I explained why I picked these players. It was a rough start in game week 1 as my team didn't perform as expected.

Game week 2 saw my team muster the highest points among the 100 participants in the Hive fpl league.

In this video, I talked about the changes I made that made the difference.

GK - Raya for Henderson Henderson brought the largest points (14 points) that we might see for a goalkeeper in a long time. I backed him over Raya because of his saves in Game week 1. The Manchester United keeper currently on loan in Nottingham forest made my team win this week!

Captain Dilemma: Just like I had it tough in Game week 1, I didn't know who to captain between my forwards, just like @wolfgangsport, I gave the Armband to Haaland. While it may not have proven costly, I would have sticked to the striker of the season - JESUS 😎

Salah Prediction. In this video, you can see me repeat what I've said alot of times. "Salah won't perform this season" - Please watch and hear my reasons before you come at me, Thanks.

Risers I also compliment @pacoandujar and @elmose for their performance this week too. With the former having a rough start after forgetting to put haaland into his Week 1 matchday squad ;)

In Conclusion... I had fun making this video. As you can observe, I was dancing at the start of the video.

Feel free to reblog and comment. Thanks, I appreciate the views alot.

It's fun on Hive-twitter when we get into nice discussions. Today I decided to make this video answering in detail the question asked by @selfhelp4trolls.

What are your Top 3 Travel destinations?

Oh, Zack mentioned Lagos, Nigeria...Pretty cool right?

@ayesha-malik and @macchiata mentioned Instabul, Turkey. Mac says for friends and good stuff.

I never actually put my travel list to see anyone however, I've grown a little bit older and I've learned to appreciate relationships. So yes, I would love to see my friends when I travel too.

Find Out More from the 8 min clip I talked about my travel destinations, wondered what makes Istanbul special, and why everyone wants to visit Tokyo, Japan!

Finally some activity on Hive! I'm so happy and excited about the upcoming fantasy premier league because we would be having our competition here!

Introducing the Hive Fantasy Premier League In today's video, I shared my thoughts about the Hive Fpl and also played a very interesting Fpl Quiz on the official premier league site.

I scored 4/10 which is below average... I think I know too much about football and the reverse psychological questions get to me hahaha.

Feel free to join us before the season starts!

The term "Hustle" is used for working energetically or rapidly... In the world today, there are too many jobs that need the "hustling mentality". You might agree with the saying that it's not about working hard, it's about working smart, However, our approach to hustlers out there should be to take it easy. Don't laugh at them!

In this video, I talked about our Hive helps us to break away from the Hustle Culture; that lifestyle that encourages workaholism and shame-free time.

Recently, I wrote an article about tribe tokens and the use of tags for the newbies initiative program.

Newbies Initiative Tutorial - Tribe Tokens & The Use of Tags

Today, I did a short video to answer the most common question asked, How to trade this tokens and how to stake them using leodex and Tribaldex.

It is important to understand staking too. It is important to note that every token have a different time frame for unstaking!

Some take more weeks to be reversed. It is stated how long when you click "unstake"

Hi everyone,

Inspired by @epodcaster, I decided to start a podcast. A series which would help me share my story and thoughts to the world. A story of a Nigerian child. I would upload subsequent episodes @threespeak!

I tired my best to keep it below the 10-minute mark so my audience can listen to it quickly and share their thoughts with me.

Today I started with the theme "Is it okay to be misunderstood?" I shared a story of mine.

  • Is it human nature to misunderstand?
  • Why Does Misunderstanding hurt badly?

Thanks for watching!

Hello Everyone,

I haven't been really active on Hive due to many reasons. I was looking to get back to posting. Today, I share another post in this community. I read and practice Spanish using duolingo. I focused on the short stories practice. I hope you understand and enjoy. Please feel free to correct and help my growth process.

My Video is in English. My Spanish translation in this post is done using DeepL. Hopefully, I'd write a post one day without a need for a translator.

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post in this community. I've always wanted to learn Spanish. During the lockdown in 2020, I started using Duolingo to learn Spanish but to be honest, I wasn't consistent. I've always planned a return but I procrastinate a lot.

Recently, I saw a post by @eddiespino in this community. He showed himself practising German 🇩🇪. I figured that if I can practise Spanish twice a week on camera, I could build on it. And just maybe, I could get some corrections on-chain.

My Video is in English. I started with a simple test. Which I think I did well. Then I did a couple of exercises. I stopped when I ran out of hearts. I hope you enjoy my video. My Spanish translation in this post is done using DeepL. Hopefully, I'd write a post one day without a need for a translator.

Hello Everyone,

I made a video in which I showed how I claim my monthly larynx miner token.

With @spknetwork building a way of incentivising content creators, my love for the network has grown. I usually claim my tokens on the first day of the month, but this time I forgot. I made this post so you don't forget :)

Do you know that if you have an extra Larynx miner token, you can power it up and earn some Dex fees? Check this post by @hiro-hive

Yay! "5 Hive Questions with samostically" continues this Thursday and I'd be bringing the co-creator of the Spk Network @starkerz on the show!

Stay tuned and thanks for your support. Have a lovely week. Xx.

Marketing Hive is something I've been curious about. Hive is a great example of Web3. It is surprising to discover that Hive is still hidden to a lot of people out there. We have arguments on Web2 vs web3 every day and you rarely see a trend using Hive to explain what web3 truly means.

The Big question is - Why is Hive still in the dark?

@acidyo tweeted this recently;

"Recently @elonmusk literally bought @Twitter due to censorship concerns etc and #hive barely moved in price/volume even tho it's the biggest #web3 immutable free speech social media platform on the biggest exchange. Not to be rude but #cryptotwitter is sometimes fucking dumb."

I also thought the same way. It just looks like Hive is different. They avoid it for a reason.

Just like I said in the video, Marketing Hive might be complicated because no one owns Hive. I did make some suggestions I think might help.

I feel we can have something like a Hive Promotion Day just like Power-up day. On this day, we can share our Hive testimonies and stories. We can also make tweets and Hold Twitter spaces. The goal is for #Hive #web3 to trend. If we can get that every month, we can get a lot of attention.

In the end, this is just my opinion, I would like to know what you think?

Hello Everyone,

Yay! Today's my birthday. I'm 22 today.

In the video above, I described how it feels for me. I woke up this morning with mixed emotions. Usually, it is always my mom that wakes me with a birthday call. However, this year is different, Mom has gone to rest.

Ever since I shared my plight on Hive, The support I've received has been massive. I use this opportunity to say thank you to everyone that supports me. I'm grateful.

@wolfofnostreet once said "Talking with people on Hive feels different" I certainly agree with her. Discussions with @edicted & @jaki01 help me a lot. @edicted says he's my worst nightmare lol. @jaki01 said a lot of words I think of regularly(Healing words).

I also want to use this opportunity to thank @eddiespino, @stayoutoftherz @dreemsteem and @starstrings01 for their financial support.

I can't list all the names I know but just know I'm grateful for all the upvotes and support you've given me.

This time last year, I didn't even know where my steem keys were. But look at me now trying to hit my "70" rep goal despite my Slipups.

I'm heading to play chess now.... XoXO

Alot of people ask how I've been able to put out articles daily despite the difficulties I'm facing in life. In this video, I poured my heart out concerning my struggles, how difficult it is to face the camera for the first time in a long while.

I also talked about the chess tournament I'm gearing up to play next week. How unprepared i am and also how much of a distraction I'm hoping this trip would offer. Although i did very well yesterday as the #hivechess candidates tournament organised by @stayoutoftherz began. I don't think I'm strong enough to compete among the best players in the country.

I ended the video showing my appreciation to everyone who has supported me and turned up for me. Thank you very much.
