For this weeks theme - The Taste of Betrayal - I chose a song that takes me back to my roots as a musician. This is one of the first songs I ever learned how to play on guitar. In this video, I cover why it would be awesome to have a leaderboard for how many games your Runi has won. This would create a lot of friendly competition between players who own Runi while also creating demand for the actual card game as opposed to land.
This can be expanded upon for all cards at some point, but starting with Runi makes the most sense in my opinion. It will help with the NFT PFP community on Ethereum to see a project that has actual utility in game.

The most recent Town Hall gave us all a major revelation - Rebellion may be closer than you think. Aggy hinted that it could potentially be here before the end of 2023.
If you've seen previous content from me, you know I've been expected Rebellion to get pushed to 2024 some time after Land 2.0. This also assumed there would be a mini promo set somewhere in the mix that would land between now and then, but we haven't heard anything about that.
With Land 1.5 around the corner though, I believe Rebellion could provide a nice 1-2 punch to get the flywheel up and running. It would make the remaining 4 months of 2023 quite exciting with these two major launches utilizing a lot of DEC. If we can get the game economy in a better place by 2024 with the Bitcoin halving in March/April, that could set up Splinterlands to front run the bull run which would be awesome.

In this video, I cover a concern I have regarding the recent ideas thrown out to give more utility to Vouchers. As someone who receives a good amount of vouchers daily, I recognize that DEC utility is much more important to get the flywheel going.
If vouchers will be offered as a discount wherever DEC is burned then we will be limiting the amount of DEC burned, thus slowing down the flywheel. How much of an impact will this have? It's hard to say now, but it's definitely worth watching.

In this video, I cover my strategy regarding Riftwatchers and how I plan to level up my collection over time. With the pack burn already removing over 10% of all packs, my guess is that these cards will be one of the most scarce in the upcoming modern format once Rebellion comes out.
The thing with Riftwatchers though is you do not need to max out all the cards to get the benefits. There are certain cards that have abilities unlock once you get them to the Gold league and you essentially come away with 80% of the upside while only spending 20%. That is how I plan to try to get the most out of these cards for my collection while on a budget.

In this video, we dive into the newly released stats for Sea Wreck - the next airdrop upcoming from Riftwatchers.
Sea Wreck is a behemoth for Water and joins a cast of already OP melee monsters. He works super well with Possibilus and in reverse speed rulesets, and the bloodlust combined with Return Fire & Magic Reflect will only make him even more difficult to deal with.
This is the first new card to shake up the meta in over 3 months (Zyriel was the last) so it feels exciting for the game to move forward. What do you think of Sea Wreck?

In this video, we take a look at the progress of Riftwatcher packs being sold and burned. Right now the key dates are as follows - the next airdrop is set for September 7th and the set will burn 50% of all packs on November 15th.
If we continue on this trajectory, I do believe there is a good chance Riftwatcher packs end up being significantly scarcer than any other editions in the Chaos Legion set. I haven't been leveling up my cards yet but it is something I am considering doing soon.

In this video, I discuss a rather radical idea of removing the bridges for DEC to other blockchains. Since the token only has value in game on the Hive blockchain, it no longer makes sense to bridge it to other chains when you have SPS.
At some point, we will eat through the extra DEC and the only way to get some will be to burn SPS. At that point, you could buy off chain, bridge it into the game and burn as needed. This reduces security risks as well and focuses all of the attention on SPS which is hard capped - unlike DEC which can be infinitely printed.

In this video, I cover the math behind how much SPS could burn for land needs once it is out. We take a lot of assumptions here, including that SPS will burn around $0.02 (current price is less) and that of course DEC would be back at peg.
I tried to stay conservative on the math, but essentially for every 1 billion DEC tokens needed we would burn about 50 million SPS. In the grand scheme of things that may not seem like a lot as we have over 1.1 billion total in circulation. But with over 650M staked and another 100M in the DAO, that doesn't leave much liquid supply available. In fact, 150M SPS is roughly half of what is currently liquid and we know it will take the purchasing of much less than that to move the price significant.
Of course, if the price of SPS starts to increase then less of it will be burned for the same amount of DEC but as I said earlier, just trying to keep the numbers simple to prove the concept.

In this video, I cover the number behind how much buying volume we would need to see for DEC to reach peg. These are all rough numbers and I tried to have conservative estimates to take into account the multiple liquidity pools and arbitrage.
The main takeaway is that it would only take about 300-400 million DEC being purchased in order to move the price back to peg. That covers about 5% of all total land, so it isn't much and can happen quickly.

In this video, I cover the idea that gold foil legendary cards will always have value on land since they provide some of the highest production available. When you look at how much there are currently in existence, it's actually quite low if you maxed out all copies for land.
The fact is, over time every land owner will want to maximize the output on their land and will thus work towards getting the highest production cards out there - with gold foil legendary being the cream of the crop. This means that over time these cards will have the most value or utility on land.
Whether we actually see the value come into being will take time and of course the successful launch of land, but it is making me take a look at gold foil legendary cards now to get a head start.

In this video, I compare Lux Vega to having a suite of Gold Foil Rare summoners from Chaos Legion and the benefits that you get from using the card.
- Promo cards give a 10% bonus
- Lux replaces Kelya for me in most battles now
- Versatility across different splinters with buffs that are always helpful (extra armor & health)
- Scarce collecter item
While the price point may seem high, when you compare Lux to having a full set of Gold summoners to get the 10% bonus, it's not that big of a stretch. Combined with the other benefits, I definitely think it is something worth considering when choosing build your collection.

In this video, I cover a recent comment on Discord made by the lead land developer - Farpetrad - on the fact that Soul Bound reward cards will not be usable in Land 1.5.
We did have a proposal recently that allowed us to unlock soul bound cards in order to be able to use them on land, but this is looking like it may have to wait until Land 1.6 at the very least. If you have already made your preparations for land factoring in some soul bound cards, it's probably a good idea to take another look and figure out how to fill the gaps in the meantime.
For myself, I was only planning on using a gold foil epic card so losing that isn't a big deal. But for many others I know, unlocking cards was a big part of the strategy.

In this video, I cover why November 15th, 2023 is an important date regarding the Riftwatcher pack burn. If Riftwatcher packs do not sell out by that date, we will have removed 50% of all packs from the store - burning 90%.
This could make Riftwatchers cards incredibly rare. While land will probably end up eating Chaos Legion and rewards, Riftwatchers will be mainly used for gameplay and would have a lot of value for new players coming in.
My Riftwatcher collection is still very low, but I may look to level some cards up soon the closer we get to November. What is your gameplan?

In this video, I share my recent End of Season rewards and where that puts me from a soul bound reward card standpoint.
Winning a few mini-SPS jackpot chests was great but sadly I will not be earning Champ chests next season as I didn't make it (got close a few times). From a soul bound reward card perspective, I didn't make much progress on the Epic or Legendary cards, but my Commons and Rares seem to be cruising right along.
I still don't think I will be close to having a max set by the end of a full year of soul bound rewards, but maybe earning more Diamond chests next season will actually help with that.

In this video, I cover why I think some of the undervalued summoners from the Riftwatcher expansion set may be just one new ruleset away from greatness.
It's easy to look at Ilthain, Fernhart, and Sthispa as the top tier as they focus specifically on enhancing or defending against a single attack type. With the new rulesets we got earlier this year that focused on Ranged and Magic only, these summoners got extra utility under their belt almost immediately.
For the rest of the crew, I do believe we could see certain types of rulesets added in the future that give value. For example, what if a ruleset called for increased damage for Backfire (Aquatus) or Cripple (Dallan)? We would immediately have go to summoners in those types of matches.
Matt and Aggy frequently talk about wanting each card to have a niche purpose and so I don't doubt that we could see some purpose give to these summoners.

In this video, I cover several reasons why you should heed the advice given to us by Yabapmatt to keep your plots in the same region.
Back in January, we got our first real alpha about what land 2.0 would look like in it's full form (before 1.5 had been conceived). Matt said that you will want to be a specialist when it comes to resource production, not a generalist producing a bunch of different things. With the way land is designed to eumulate the real world, plots of similar types tend to be around each other and therefore it makes sense to keep them close.
With the land 1.5 white paper, we saw the first benefit of keeping your plots in the same region - saving on transportation fees. It is a very heft 12.5% fee to transfer between two plots you own across different regions. Even with only 1 resource (grain) in Land 1.5, being able to transport this between plots as they will all require it is going to be essential. With the diversity of resources coming in 2.0 this becomes magnified even further.
Then in the most recent town square, Aggy mentioned how Research tokens in 1.5 will gate access to features in the future and that they will be grouped by region - meaning that if you acquire Research tokens in a region they only benefit plots you own there. Yet another major advantage to keeping your plots together, or a major disadvantage if you choose to spread yourself out.
I doubt this is the last we see of major benefits going to those who keep their plots within the same region so as I move forward trying to build out my land business this is something I will keep in mind.

In this video, I cover some key data metrics that lead me to believe we are seeing the return of many former players - a fantastic outcome from the recent implementations of SPS staking requirements and Human Only Modern Format.
While we have not seen a significant rise in spellbook purchases (signaling new players), we are seeing the number of battles and daily active accounts increase over the past couple of weeks following the changes. I've also heard anecdotally from around the community that the changes have been well received and we are starting to see some players show interest again.

In this video, I estimate the time it will take to sell/burn enough packs to unlock the next legendary airdrop.
Assuming the burn starts after the next update on August 8th, we are looking at September 7th as the last possible date. This could be moved up if packs are bought and I do expect that to be the case.

In this video, I cover some ideas that I believe would be a great addtion or use for the Secret Of Praetoria Research Tokens arriving with Land 1.5. With their being so much mystery around the benefits of acquiring these tokens, my hope is the team will reveal some of the awesome benefits from them before the launch of land.
These ideas include benefits for your territory or region, but also individual benefits such as airdropped cards and resources My personal hope is to see something soulbound that is only acquired through playing the land game as research tokens will not be tradable (as of my current understanding).

This will be happening on August 3rd and while the full game with skills and rewards is not here yet, this will be a great opportunity for everyone who is interested to give the game a try. I plan to do more content including opening some of the packs that I have and grabbing some cards off the market to make my team.

In this video, we take a closer look at how much DEC has been locked up in the DAO for the Riftwatcher pack sale.
Keep in mind that this is after less than 1 month as the change from SPS to DEC took place on July 6th. Also, 50M DEC is only 10k packs sold and there are still almost 2M packs left unsold.
With the proposal to burn Riftwatcher packs looking like it will pass, this could be a huge catalyst to removing DEC from the liquid supply which is perfect timing with Land 1.5 right around the corner!

In this video, I cover what kind of returns I believe Node Licenses will need to have in order for them to become appealing to investors.
Given that Nodes are currently paying a 9% APR if you buy them from the store, we will need to see SPS increase to about $0.09 in order to push the APR closer to 30% - in line with other opportunities like staking or liquidity pools. This is also assuming voucher prices stay at around $0.04 although if those increase that would be an added bonus.

In this video, I cover why I think the recent change to Modern Format making it human only is a major win for the game and community. So far we are seeing rewards increase and player sentiment all around seems to be much improved after a rough couple of months.
Looking ahead, I don't believe pushing this same kind of change to Wild Format should be done blindly. There needs to be a decentralized space in which players/bots/whoever can interact with the game - just as the founders Matt and Aggy intended. I hope we can be thoughtful and creative as a community to come up with different formats to include everyone in the future.

In this video, I cover how even though it looks like there is low card liquidity in the current marketplace, we have to keep in mind that recent changes to the way the market operates means there are a lot of hidden cards out there. What I mean by hidden is the fact that a listing fee is now required every time a card is put on the market, and it can only stay active for 30 days. If it is not sold (or rented), it will be removed from the marketplace and you will have to pay another listing fee to post it again.
So while it's not easy to confirm, my hunch is that with the major dip in asset prices over this past summer we probably have a lot of cards sitting idle in accounts right now with card owners waiting until the market picks up again before bothering to list and pay the fee. I could be wrong, but that would actually be a good thing in terms of overall card scarcity.
Regardless, I have a lot of cautious optimism as we head into August and hopefully get more info about the launch of land 1.5!

In this video, I cover the new coach abilities revealed for the Genesis League Goals game. I have not had a chance to jump into the closed beta so take this all with a grain of salt.
Overall, some of the abilities are very specific which leads me to believe that the more general ones will be more popular as you can only use one coach per team. For most new players, having a more general strategy building a team will probably be easiest. Only when we get to higher level meta and team composition will it make sense to use some of the more specific ability coaches.

In this video, I discuss the general overview and outlook for the GLX token over the next couple of months. There are many updates that will impact the tokenomics significantly in this timeframe including:
- Goals game going live with earning rewards & staking requirements
- Airdrop to SPS stakers ending in October
- GLX staking rewards ending in November
- Burn event for Skills with game launch
- LP rewards starting soon (unconfirmed)
All of these changes mean we could see major burn and general slowdown in overall dilution of the token. New faucets like earnings and LPs may go live, but those will be relatively small compared to what is ending in the airdrop and staking rewards.

In this video, I cover why the month of August could be huge for Splinterlands. I approach this from 2 angles - Splinterlands planned releases of Soulkeep and Land 1.5 as well as the broader crypto market trends.
Over the past couple of years we've seen summer rallies carried by certain narratives whether that was defi or gaming. This summer seems a bit different as Bitcoin has been dominating the conversation, but with the XRP lawsuit reaching a favorable resolution we could see a fun altcoin season. So much depends on the macro economy as well but it's hard to argue against a lot of bullish sentiment at the moment.
Combine all of this and it could make for quite an explosive month for Splinterlands - and not just from an economic standpoint. Bringing new game modes into the mix have the potential to bring new players and interest into the project and that may be the biggest catalyst of them all.

In this video, we cover the recent announcement from Yixn about the banning of a whopping 1300+ accounts in the recent purge. This will have large implications for the game and economy as it seems major farming operations were targeted.
For myself, the banning of accounts actually pushed me into the top 1000 in terms of ranking, which is the top 20%. For someone that has not spent anything outside of the original 30 Hive to join I consider this an accompishment!

In this video, we take a look at the increased amount of SPS staking since the launch of the SPS staking requirement for ranked play earnings. With 32 million SPS staked since July 5th, we've averaged staking 2 million SPS per day over the past 16 days.
Considering that SPS has traditionally always been staked at about a 50% rate to the total available supply, we are seeing a massive push that may only increase if rewards improve with the Modern Human-Only League, Soulkeep, and Land 1.5 around the corner. Even if we don't see a large number of new users come in, there could still be significant scarcity across the board with just the current player base as these new game modes go live.
We'll continue to track this as time goes on but exciting nonetheless!

In this video, I cover just how many Riftwatcher packs we would need to sell to start moving DEC back to peg.
The basic assumption is that getting below 4 billion DEC circulating on Hive would start to move the needle, but under 3 billion is where I believe we would feel the true supply crunch and therefore push demand back to peg.
200k packs = 1 billion DEC locked up in the DAO, which means that we would only need 300-400k packs sold of the remaining 2 million. If the proposal to start burning packs passes, I believe this can push us there quickly. Land 1.5 coming out should help as well.

In this video, I discuss the tie in between the Splinterlands tokenomics vs the Terra Luna ecosystem. One thing that caused Luna to skyrocket in price was the Anchor protocal which offered a 20% APR on a stablecoin (UST).
Obviously Luna had a fatal flaw which allowed the burning of LUNA and UST to go both ways, but Splinterlands does not have that. You can only burn SPS for DEC, not the other way around.
One top of that, the liquidity pools pairing DEC with DAI and BUSD are currently offering between 12-15% APR - paid out in SPS. If SPS were to increase in value, you would be able to pair two stablecoins to get a potentially 30%+ APR - which is very similar to what drew so much capital into the Terra Luna ecosystem. It could potentially bring in massive ETH and BNB whales into the project purely from a defi perspective.

In this video, I reflect on the Monday evening stream with RoguePatton and Yabbapmatt in which they held a tournament to give away Matt‘s Runi. This turned into a really fun community event and had great participation.
Tournaments are one of the most underrated ways to get the community excited. I don’t mind any time tournaments but live tournaments with head to head single elimination formats are by far much better. We should be doing these more often and the team should be hosting regular events like this one. It will go along way to keeping the community engaged and happy.

In this video, I cover some thing that I think has been overlooked in the launch of SPS staking - the effect on reward cards. Since the amount of SPS you have determines not just how much SPS you earn, but also how many reward shares in general, we will probably see a massive decrease in the amount of reward cards printed.
This may only be a short term effect as people adjust to the new reality and potentially get more SPS, but there is also a chance we don’t recover to previous print rates for a while. If that ends up being the case, it could make the soul bound reward cards incredibly scarce depending on when they go out of print.

Don’t sleep on Prestige!
Leveling up in the game actually has quite a few benefits and Prestige is what caps your max level. In order to level up faster you can burn Part for reputation and that will increase your XP rate. When you increase your prestige, you are required to burn 75% of your XP in return for increasing your max level cap by five.
I will admit that I am still learning all different aspects around the game including Prestige, but this is one area I am actively trying to catch up on now. Shout out to @yixn for keeping @golem.overlord as fresh, exciting, and fun as it has been!

In this video, we look at how the change in pricing for Riftwatchers from SPS to DEC has already made a major impact. As an update to the video, we are now over 10M DEC locked up in the DAO for just a couple of thousand packs.
Considering there are still almost 2M packs to go, that would require more than double the amount of DEC that is currently in circulation - which means SPS would have to be burned in order to mint enough DEC. also, Matt talked about putting forth a proposal to start a pack burn similar to Chaos Legion which could drive a good amount of sales.
All of this could potentially be happening with the backdrop of launches of tower defense and land 1.5. Let’s hope things get a little crazy!

In this video, I cover SPS having direct utility is so important. With the launch of the SPS staking requirements we are seeing a steady rise in the price of SPS over the past few days (>25%) and this is due to the fact that people actually need it now in order to earn their rewards. This may not seem like a huge gain but the shift in overall reward and incentive structure is massive.
Not only will we see the selling of SPS slow down as players try to reach their staking goals, but I know many players who have actively gone out and bought more to increase their multiplier. With tower defense, a human only modern league, and land 1.5 around the corner I can’t wait to see what the overall impact will be to the game and the game economy.

It's been awhile since I've posted here and a big part of that is because I was working on some new music. I'm excited to share my new single 'Silent' with you all, now streaming on your favorite music platform!
The story behind 'Silent' is rather simple but based on something that I think every human tries to acheive in one form or another - thoughtlessness. Our minds are constantly buzzing around with issues from the past to concerns about the future and everything in between. There are few things that make our mind go silent, and in those instances we can truly enjoy the moment. Whether that's being in love, witnessing a sunrise, or meditating - nothing compares to the mind going silent just for a moment.

When this song first came out I couldn't figure out why I was drawn to it and found it so catchy. After a little digging, I learned it was co-written by Ed Sheeran! He's one of the most talented songwriters in the current music scene and I've enjoyed a lot of his music so it immediately made sense to me why I resonated with it the way I did.
This song is already acoustic with just a guitar and vocals, so doing an acoustic version with piano wasn't the main focus for why I wanted to cover the song. It is more the meaning behind it and the lyrics that spoke to me. If you've ever been in that kind of relationship you will know. Sometimes, you're so in love with someone that you are blind to the toxicity that they bring into the relationship and the negativity they bring into your life. It's only after you are out of it that you realize just how badly things had been affecting you.
I especially like the like 'my momma don't like you and she likes everyone'. It's just a phenomenal play on words that many can relate to. My mom is awesome and I've learned to trust her gut over the years whenever something seemed off. It's the little things like this in the lyrics and the way the melody is written that just hook you (shout out once again to Ed Sheeran!).

What a classic song! One of my all time favorites and definitely a track that I love to do at any type of Karaoke!
What I loved about stripping it down into an acoustic version and slowing the tempo was that the lyrics are actually quite sad but the originally version juxtaposes them with an upbeat instrumental. Singing the same lyrics over only a piano helps to bring out the emotion within the song. What's fascinating is that the best songs make you feel something and doing two different versions of this song - upbeat and dance like vs slow acoustic - can bring out two entirely different reactions.
I actually had the opportunity to see The Killers live in their hometown of Las Vegas a couple of years ago and they did a slower acoustic version of Mr. Brightside before jumping into the whole band version. It was awesome and is what inspired me to focus on the stripped down version of the song.

This song has such a fun vibe to it I almost felt like I couldn't slow it down and do something more acoustic!
It's been fun to watch Harry Styles music develop after his One Direction days. Love the pop elements overall and this track really plays into that with some nostalgic synth vibes to go with it. The lyrics are actually quite sad while the music is super upbeat - a dichotomy that few songs are able to pull off! One of my favorites off the album for sure!
In doing something more acoustic, I obviously had to slow it down a bit from the original which only made the sad lyrics hit deeper. It actually changes the feel of the song completely - which I love! Being able to pull a different kind of emotion from a song by dressing it up or stripping it down is one of my favorite things to do as a songwriter and musician.

Here's a classic for you all!
I don't know how many people will know this song as it wasn't super mainstream, but it is one that I enjoy and wanted to share my take on it with the community here.
The song follows a bit of a non-traditional structure which is probably one of my favorite parts. The main hook "Somewhere only we know" doesn't actually hit until after the second verse and then we get a repeat of it to finish the rest of the song. Pop music, which I do love, can be somewhat formulaic at times so when a song does something different - even as subtle as structure change like this - it tends to stand out for me.
I love the bouncy vibe it has that straddles the line between sad and happy very delicately. The vocals are delivered with a sense of desperation while the music floats on, almost fantasy like in it's tempo and nature. Something about how it all comes together makes it a song that has always stood out for me because it doesn't quite fit into any particular box - and I love that.

I can't say this is my favorite song by The Chainsmokers, but it does contain one of my best drops I've ever heard. That is probably due to the collaboration with Illenium, another one of my top artists who is known for creating these massive walls of sound that are sonically beautiful.
Obviously an acoustic version of the song doesn't capture that aspect of the song, but it does give a chance to focus on the vocals and lyrics which can sometimes take a back seat in electronic music - in a good way IMO. There is a line in the song that is super simple yet captures so much depth:
Fate, fate, fate
Is that what what came between us
Or did we do this on our own?
I feel like the question of fate vs free will is as old as time and applies across so many different aspects of our lives. In this context it's about a relationship specifically, but is still something I'm sure many people experience.

I've always been a fan of Zedd, since his first major single hit radio waves - 'Clarity'. I find his style of production to be fun and addictive. He's able to balance so many elements that give electronic music that 'electronic' feel while effortlessly blending it with pop sensibilities. That's one of the major reasons I believe he has been so commercially successful.
The collaboration with Alessia Cara on 'Stay' was awesome because as far as I know, Alessia hadn't dabbled with heavy electronic music before that point in her career. She's a talented vocalist with a unique voice and the duo created something truly special.

This is one of my favorite songs from Adele and I'm excited to share my version of it with you!
The emotion in the lyrics and performance that Adele gave was something that swept the entire world back when the song was released. You heard the song and just immediately hated the person it was about! I love when songs can be so specific and personal in their focus and yet so completely relatable.
The production on the original song is phenomenal but obviously I was going for a stripped down version with the acoustic covers. This album changed a lot for me as a musician myself as I remember studying the songwriting and production elements that went into as I was still early in my musical journey. At the end of the day though, what carries it is the power and emotion in Adele's voice. I hope I was able to do it justice with my take on it.

The idea for this cover came during a recent livestream! Shout out @Luthien12 and @Vettev for bouncing around the idea in Mav chat and then bringing it to me during that livestream. Once the writing process began to replace the lyrics, everything fell into place nicely. Happy Music Monday everyone!
I'm not sure if this captures the essence perfectly, but the original version of Faded by Alan Walker is one of the prettiest songs I've ever heard. The ethereal vibe that Alan Walker creates with the instrumental part of the track is what captured my attention initially and then the wonderful blend of electronic and acoustic rhythmic elements completely sold me. And we haven't even gotten to beautifully haunting the vocals are, it's just the perfect cherry on top!
In doing an acoustic cover, my focus was more so on the melodic elements of the vocals. The lyrics of the song I feel are somewhat underappreciated due to the great production of the song, so I hope you enjoy this acoustic take!

Hey everyone!
I remember the first time I heard this song and was absolutely struck by the raw emotion within it. The lyrics, the performance, the production - they were all just stellar. And the concept of the song just reaches such a vulnerable place.
We've all been in or maybe know someone who has been in a relationship that didn't make sense or wasn't good for them. The idea of being alone is scary, and it makes us do things we wouldn't normally in our rational minds. There is a sense of comfort in the misery you know, versus the one you don't. The unknown can be terrifying.
And that's why the crux of this song hits so hard when that line is delivered. Followed by the fantastic future bass style production which I'm a huge fan of, this song quickly became stuck in my head for quite awhile. Being able to do an acoustic version to really focus on the lyrics was my goal with this one.

Modern Format Updates
Modern and Wild are currently undergoing internal testing which will open up to the mavericks soon. The initial date given out by Hardpoint last week was end of July, but the team is thinking they may be able to deliver on this earlier than expected. With the current season essentially wrapping up, the only other option would be a rollout after the next season which would be around July 15th. Let's hope they can hit the date!
Modern Tournament Support & Shared ECR
One of the exciting things launching with Modern format will be Modern tournament support. Whether it is official tournaments created by the team or 3rd party competitions, Modern format will be eligle as an option and we should see many more tournaments utilitizing it. For ranked play, ECR will be shared across both formats so you will have to choose wisely based on what you are trying to accomplish (leaderboard, daily focus, etc).
Brawls/Gladius Cards Impacting Other Areas of the Game
The team is considering other ways to utilitize Gladius cards as they live in their own bubble right now. One idea thrown out during the town hall was having them be able to work land. It will be essential for more use cases to pop up as once players start to max out their brawl cards they do not serve any other utility and would most likely be burned for DEC.
3 Ecosystems (Music/Casino/Sports)
As somewhat of a follow up to Hardpoint's announcement on the arcade game collaboration last week, Aggroed mentioned there are three realms that Splinterlands will be breaking into in the future - music, casino, and sports. As the Splinterverse grows and more games and applications come into the ecosystem, I will be excited to see how interconnected these ecosystems end up being as a way to raise asset values and utility across the board.
Additional Rewards Pools
In response to a question about utility for SPS staking, Aggroed mentioned additional rewards pools added in the future. The key here is the plurality of it. We know the SPS battle rewards are coming per the whitepaper, but the possibilities are somewhat endless of what else they can add when it comes to partnerships and collaborations. Just imagine doing limited time themed pools that offer incentive for players to play to earn other tokens, maybe one that Splinterlands is launching or from a game that is associated with the Splinterlands brand. This could even come from outside. For example, what if FIFA bought $1M worth of Hive or SPS to add to the rewards pool during the world cup as a way of advertising. I'd be all in for that!
Lots of exciting things coming down the road. Let's hope this truly is the summer of Splinterlands!

Hey everyone!
Heard this song for the first time recently and it hit deep. Something about the way The Kid Laroi delivers it along with the raw, honest lyrics. What's always been interesting for me as a music lover and listener is when someone writes a song so specific to their experience yet I am able to feel a connection and it resonates with how certain things have played out in my own life.
Now as a songwriter and artist myself, I try to make sure I can do the same thing wtih my own music. Even when things seem so mundane and personal, something about sharing that vulnerability allows people to truly connect and mirror their own life experiences to find meaning in the songs. It's amazing and one of the reasons I love all different aspects of music.
So while this isn't personally my story, I have been in relationships in the past where things didn't feel right even if I cared about the other person immensely. I am sure many others can relate.

Happy Middle Of June!
I honestly can't believe I hadn't heard this song until recently and I figured the timing was perfect for me to do a cover. The original is awesome in how it blends a lot of electronic elements together which made doing a stripped down acoustic version even more fun. The heart of the song are ultimately the lyrics which carry a lot of depth and are things I relate to strongly.
I'm excited to explore more of the Glass Animals discography now that I've discovered them. For those who may not know, the music I write and release tends to be similar in genre (electronic pop) so this is right up my alley!
