The guys also discusses how God desires our obedience and mercy more than our sacrifice. It is only the suffering of Jesus Christ that saves us. More prayer and parental freedom assault. And then things take an unexpected turn and Loto goes off script.
PhillVill reports a story about adopted children being subjected to unimaginable sexual evil in the worst way and Loto launches into a very impassioned admonition on the lasting damages from this. Sharing some of his most personal pains and urges all to pray for these precious boys. Explaining the reality of being haunted by this nightmare throughout life and dealing with a lifetime of unsolicited consequences. The danger of these wounds going unchecked. But the apex of what may be Loto’s most raw indignations comes when he retreats to the oasis of hope. The unfailing hope that can only be found in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Calling everyone especially those who have suffered this torment to the hope that there is life , true healing, and real freedom available to them. Please do not suffer alone. Extended Conversation with Yovana Munro, LMFT.
We meet our special guest to continue our very important discussion about grief and loss. Yovana is a licensed marriage and family therapist with an emphasis on grief and loss. She is currently the Behavioral Health Program Supervisor for Fresno County Education All For Youth. The grief counselor begins with a great explanation of the difference between grief and depression. She then shares her background in education and educating others on this topic as a professor for 10 years. Revealing grief is not only experienced by loss of a loved one but in many different forms.
The San Diego Christian College graduate and professor gives us a glimpse of some of the things she taught her students about helping those dealing with grief and loss. Always maintain an empathetic heart, listening is more important than what you say, and most of the time just being present is the best support we can offer. Summing it up by describing the necessity of loving in action.
The conversation takes a personal turn as Munro shares her own story of grief and loss. Losing two very close loved ones within days from each other. Explaining how these losses impacted her perspective and practice. Uncovering a neglected area of grief many don’t talk about, miscarriage pregnancies. The conversation concludes with our wonderful guest offering resources, from the spiritual to the practical.

The Overflow Bros welcome everyone to the podcast’s adult episode. Loto regrets the most anticlimactic experience with turning 18 and PhillVill reminds us that we still take instructions from our parents regardless of age. Why Vote?
Overflow makes history again as we cross another first off the list. And doing it with style and high profile as we were graced with the voice of the Best Talk in Town, KXEX 1550 AM. Guillermo Moreno, who also hosts the Guillermo Moreno Show on KXEX Monday through Friday 4-7 pm was kind enough to be our first call in guest and shares his thoughts about the upcoming elections. The phone call begins with a great discussion on politics and pulpits. Loto asks the radio station owner about a cause that is very close to his heart. Guillermo Moreno then addresses the question of the show, “Why Vote?” The highlight of the call comes when Guillermo explains a political reality that hits closer than local politics. The most profound moment comes when he shares his personal experience with coming to a change point of his own politics.
The rest of episode 18 continues with a discussion about 5 excuses or reasons people don’t vote between the two outlaws. Seems none of them are acceptable to the Overflow duo. Lastly, Loto answers the question, “Why vote?” with the reasons he votes.

We wanted to finish our Pastors Appreciation month with a bang and 18 did not disappoint. Loto welcomes everyone with on a chilly autumn day and the Overflow Bros discuss there week. Highlighting a road trip to Arizona for the "Frontline Worship" reunion. The trip took an interesting turn that ended with a water bottle baptism. Loto shares the most powerful part of the trip when he had his first ever, WhataBurger. PhillVill and the wife had a movie date night and shares his mixed take on Black Adam. The pair gives the Extended Family an update on our very first Pastors Appreciation month guest and now 2 time Iron Man, Alex Delgado.
Loto introduces Pastor Anthony Flores and the fun explodes out of the gate. The Stockton native talks about the adventurous week that changed his life. A journey that began with a shotgun gospel, a smokey train trip, and ended with Easter Sunday. Then we get into a scandal meant to silence the church but actually handed the church a new bullhorn for the gospel.
The senior pastor of Adventure Church shares about life before 2020 and the outrageous controversy that ensued when his church began the process to purchase the theater they’ve been holding services. Unwilling to use the pulpit as a platform to respond and losing faith in media to report the matter accurately, he and others from church leadership created the Not Offended Podcast. Exceeding their goal of responding and updating the public about this ongoing matter, Not Offended has become a vastly growing podcast of culture engagement, personified comic relief, and biblical intelligence.
Our guest revisits an encounter in Montana. An encounter that profoundly impacted his approach to discipleship absorbing an innovative way of doing bible study that is being used to train up women pastors in the middle east to keep up with the rapid growth of believers there.
Some of the most powerful moments takes place as Pastor Anthony remembers leaving Stockton for his life in ministry. Talk about leaving on a prayer. The Extended Conversation with Nate Franklin
Loto introduces our guest, Pastor Nate Franklin from Cornerstone Church in downtown Fresno. Pastor Nate starts with the move from Oklahoma and New Mexico to his beloved hometown of Fresno. The young pastor drops some of life’s nuggets early and Loto pauses to allow the audience to empty their wheelbarrows out and to return for more. Nate talks about what and where home really is, which launches him into a great encouragement to not allow the "next" to rob you of your "now".
Loto informs the family of who Pastor Nate’s parents are and Pastor talks about life as a son of 2 very influential and visible leaders. He talks about becoming a target and acknowledges becoming something he knew was not okay. Loto shares a time when little Nathan was clearly upset people treated him better than they treated his friends, prompting Loto to ask how church members should handle kids like Nate.
Loto again pauses to allow audience to empty out their wheelbarrows and instructs them to come back with a semitruck. Some of the most powerful nuggets Nate shares is here when he talks about exposure, comparing our personal development to that of a photo exposure room, a place of darkness and chemicals necessary to the process. Then the interview gets real as the developing leader in his own right talks about those who brought friction that was necessary in his life. All 3 guys at the table discusses a bond they share being in the trenches together. Some of the best laughs came during this time when the three reminisce about their short-term mission trip to Hawaii.
Finally, 16 concludes with what is sure to be everyone’s favorite moments of this extended conversation. Members of the church, from parents, youth, and co-leaders surprise Nate. Keep your box of tissues close because the videos were for Nate, but they turned Loto into a blubbering mess. The Cuban refugee shares his powerful story of coming to America on a boat to escape the tyranny of communism, only to suffer a tyranny of his own making. Witnessing his first murder at the age of 4 while riding his bike, Alex takes us on a journey of the seemingly endless battle with addiction and finally surrendering to the will of God. Walking onto the enticing floor of the Chicago stock exchange at 17 years old, introduced the young alcoholic to another addiction that would plague his life for years. Alex exposes a powerful truth that was literally revealed to him during the extended conversation.
The former heroin addict who became youth pastor of one of the fastest growing youth groups in America talks about the Arise Conference. An event taking place at the Big Fresno Fair October 16. It is held by Teen Challenge SoCal, a Christ-centered life changing ministry that has helped countless lives come out of addictions and live a productive life of sobriety through the power of God’s love. Alex shares some of the exciting things coming in the near future for this worldwide ministry and his role in it.

The outlaws go over an article by Bill Murphy Jr of Understandably.com. “7 Smart Phrases People With High Emotional Intelligence Keep Saying Over and Over, and Why.” Which reintroduces us to a lost art that came at a loss for all of us as a society. Simple words and phrases like, why, please, thank you, you’re welcome, and can I ask for some advice. Again, simple. But these phrases make a world of difference in people relations and even child development.
The Big Ten concludes with a Bible drip. Colossians 4:6. Loto challenges us to keep our communication sweet and to not be afraid if we have to get a little salty. Loto and PhillVill uncovers a hidden in plain sight peril that threatens the health and mental well-being of our children. These threats add to the already metastasizing corrosion of parental rights. Especially here in California and possibly to the rest of our country. A mother exposes her experience with addressing a matter with her daughter’s school concerning her child and gets a visit from CPS. A father experiencing the same end when trying to prevent his child from a dangerously irreversible procedure.
These matters are very sensitive in nature and much too important for the usual bantering. The host presents actual bills that are already law which opened the way for these threats to become reality. Unfortunately some of our children are already suffering.

Loto’s pastor, Pastor Franklin of Cornerstone Fresno teaches powerful truths of overcoming from the timeless story of David and Goliath.
Those who know this story know the praise David received after defeating the giant, Goliath. Every victory is preceded by a necessary process. Your private battles prepares you for your public victories. It was David’s faithfulness when no one was watching that God used to prepare David for the most public challenge he was about to face. Pastor Franklin also presents a twist that defies the temptation to give up.
The guy's observation continues with PhillVill’s pastor, Pastor Anthony, which seemed practically providential as the Adventure Church pastor picks up and lands where Pastor Franklin did. Pastor Anthony Flores blows the door open with a word bomb on worship. The 3 things worship does, the sobering effect of true worship, and the ability of this gift to change heart posture. The guys are moved as Pastor Anthony shares a Bethel moment in his life when his heart became fully engaged in authentic worship.
