Hey, homeschool mom!
Today's podcast is an inaugural format intended to replicate something valuable from our homeschool journey, Parent Panels. We were greatly blessed by these which we attended together through our local homeschool support group.
We had monthly meetings. Then a few times of year, the support group brought together a handful of homeschool moms to share the challenges of their journey and answer our questions. We hope this format empowers you like the Parent Panels did for us with homeschool help, how-to's, homeschool news and we even added a few fun things for your kids to enjoy.

Hey homeschool mom!
Are you overwhelmed with the homeschool method you should choose for your family?
It can be tough to figure out what the best answer is, but one key thing to remember is that you are never stuck one way or another -- you can always change! Our families have done a little bit of everything, but my initial start into homeschool was through a hybrid model.
In this episode, we will discuss the definition of hybrid homeschooling, some pros and cons of this method, and my experience at a school like this.

We see a pattern with the kids that we have taught in the past, with our own children, and with the kids we presently teach, which is:
Interest-led educational experiences drive creativity, bolster motivation, and instill an intrinsic love of learning -- especially in Language Arts, as it is the foundation of the learning process.
A few years into our homeschool journey, we heard this declaration from a veteran homeschool mom: You are the master of the curriculum, it is NOT the master of you! This is a declaration that we wish we would have heard earlier. It gave us peace of mind to switch it up when things weren’t going well, to embrace our freedom in curriculum choices.
We understand that even when an educational approach, method, or curriculum has become boring, burdensome, and/or bothersome, it’s easy to listen to fear and stay in that space because it feels safe. We have been victim to the idea that we needed to plow through in order to not “miss any targets or create gaps,” because “don’t the curriculum developers know better than we do?”
We are here to encourage you that if it’s not working, it’s ok to break out and make connections between your child’s passions and the topics they study. This is a great way to learn, and fun to teach, and we’ve got specific ideas to help you accomplish that.
Have a question you need answered? Reach out directly to us by recording a quick message using our "Send Voicemail" button.

Hey Homeschool mom!
We know you're probably like us at this time of the year wondering how you're going to get all the Christmas things done before the big day! And we've got the perfect, light-hearted soundtrack to listen to while you're checking off your list with today's episode.
In the first of what we hope to be many interviews to come with our formerly homeschooled kids, you'll find out why Hymns, and music study in general, are a smart addition to your homeschool lesson plans. We think hearing it from the student’s voice after they’ve gone off and used their homeschooled knowledge gives a powerful perspective.
Kim and her daughter have an amusing and informative conversation about Hymn study. How does the topic of Hymns become amusing? Well, that's just how it goes when these two discuss things especially when they're reflecting on their amazing homeschool journey!
We pray you're inspired by it,
~Kim & Jenny❤️

Hi Homeschool Mom,
Are you finding it difficult to be thankful in your current circumstances?
Homeschooling is never easy, but as our world has gotten increasingly more uncertain, depressing, unstable, and expensive (!!) over the past few years, the days can be difficult, and you can find yourself in a pit of despair on a daily basis if you don't have a solution to combat it.
We have found ourselves in this pit many days, especially when we were not connecting with God regularly and other Godly-minded women to speak life into us and get us out of our heads.
So how do we keep a heart of gratitude in all circumstances, including our homeschool days?
Listen in to be encouraged...and BTW, you may never look at 💩 the same way again! ;)
Blessings,
Kim & Jenny

Foraging Adventures was created for homeschooling families seeking interactive, vibrant educational experiences. This podcast episode sheds light on the wonders of foraging and its significance in teaching about how God made plants right in our own yards that can nourish us. We believe this fascinating endeavor will make homeschool lesson plans come alive.
Our guest, Ryan Saul from Venture Outside Florida has been leading foraging tours and fishing charters for several years. He shares, alongside his daughter who helps on the adventures, his valuable insight on responsible and safe foraging practices, emphasizing the fact that with thorough research and education there's no need to fear embarking on this exciting way of eating. He tells the story of how he got started foraging as a challenge among friends and the surprising health benefits revealed to him along the way.
Just like homeschooling helps us think outside the box, foraging is one way to do that and has the potential to greatly enhance homeschool unit studies or separate Science, Nature Study and/or Journaling lessons. We hope to inspire you and your family to gain a deeper understanding of God's bounty in the natural world around you.

In this episode, we talk with Pam from The Apparent Project School, a ministry in Haiti. You and your kids will benefit greatly from hearing what she says about the school, the students' lives away from school and the surprising difference between teachers at the ministry compared to those in other schools around the country.
This is a heartfelt conversation will spark ideas for how you can help your kids make connections w/ others who have needs that we simply cannot wrap our minds around. Pam, coordinator for the Early Childhood Program, explains the heartbreaking housing situation that most of their students face when the school day is done. The Apparent Project is a safe haven for these families and we've created a unique opportunity to support them. In our upcoming class series, Jump, Pray and PenPal, we will email and then meet virtually w/ the students of The Apparent Project School.
This class will give kids the chance to bond with Haitian kids and gain compassion and insight into how other kids around the world live. It is our hope that we will create friendships by learning about each other and taking part in lifting each other up in prayer. Not much is more sweet and powerful than the sincere prayer of a child and we’re excited to see the wonderful things that God does through our efforts!
As a springboard to connection, the kids will learn basic jump roping skills which the students in Haiti will be doing, as well. They'll have fun with this regardless of their level of experience with jump roping because we first learn how to jump over a line and keep the beat to skipping rhymes and then we’ll progress to tricks. No rope is needed for the class as they’ll learn how to use their “invisible jump rope” with the end goal being to use a rope w/ efficiency.
This class will run for an hour each week for 4 weeks and will be taught by Ms. Kim. The class will take place in a meet-up area of our website and class will be held virtually on Tuesdays from 10-11AM EST. The cost is $40 per family plus a donation in the amount your family is led to give to the Apparent Project in Haiti to help cover their rent. The outline is listed below and is subject to change based on the needs of all the students.
Week 1: Introduction to class, Haiti and Apparent Project, fun jump rope skills, compose a penpal email as a class and translate to Haitian Créole to send.
Week 2: Read penpal letter received from Apparent Project children, pray for their needs, fun jump rope skills, compose a class pen pal letter back.
Week 3: Fun jump rope skills and Virtual Call with Apparent Project students!
Week 4: Write penpal email, fun jump rope skills, pray for Apparent Project, wrap up.
During our PRAY time, they’ll be encouraged to draw and/or write words as we listen to how the Holy Spirit wants us to intercede for The Apparent Project and the families they serve.
Here’s what your kids will need:
A prayer journal of some kind
Writing supplies
Jump rope, OPTIONAL
Access to the internet with a camera set up in a space that allows for jump rope activity either inside or outside
This virtual meeting will take place within the safety and privacy of our website at The Homeschool Well.com and a link will be delivered via email upon registration.
Don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions at https://www.thehomeschoolwell.com/contact. We look forward to meeting you for this exciting class and ask for continued prayer for The Apparent Project!

End the Year Well: Homeschool Portfolios, Plans, and Parties
“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.” ~Ecclesiastes 7:8
Few things bring as much excitement as the end of the homeschool year. There’s so much anticipation and, for homeschool families, a temptation to just wrap it up no matter where it stands and get on with vacation!
We believe there’s a better way than just dropping all the school work to be picked up again when the beginning of the next school year rolls around. We’ll outline our process and show you how it will create a nice pattern by establishing chapters to your entire homeschool journey, provide closure to each school year, and give an empowering sense of accomplishment and confidence for both parents and children.

It's our goal with this episode to give you tips and strategies to help you have more quality sleep at night and more energy in the daytime so that you can be feeling your best to homeschool your kids. We know, we've been there. If we have to stop and rest as homeschool moms or go take a nap in the middle of the day because we feel so horrible, then not much school is getting done.
Throughout our own homeschool journey, going to the park and using the playground equipment was a great way to use my time efficiently and work up a good night's sleep for more energy the next day. Sharing the way that I did it was one goal of mine when we started The Homeschool Well. We have a blog on our website as well as a class, The Playground Workout, in our library of resources on our membership side of our website.
And then for this podcast, I wanted to find a mom who was also a personal trainer who could give us some more technical kinds of tips and strategies. And that is where June Beeks comes in. She's a personal trainer with a nutrition certification who does some one-on-one coaching. Find out more here about June and access the links we discussed in the podcast here.

In this episode, we are empowering you with five tips for planning the New Year!🎉 Are you ready to push the reset button? Do you need a new plan and new strength for the new year? A new beginning in January always brings time to reflect and renew. What has been working in your homeschool? What needs to go? Where can you insert more fun to finish this second half of the year well? Fall semester is a time to tackle academics and establish good routines. Spring semester is a great time to lighten up and plan more field trips, interest-led units, and enrichment to keep motivation high.Over the years of homeschooling, we realized that just because we started something in the fall, didn't mean we had to keep going with it into the spring semester. This time of year is the perfect time to switch things up to allow for the upcoming doldrums of winter, the lack of academic drive with spring fever, and the fizzle out at the end of the year.Thankfully, there are ways to combat these pitfalls, and we have 5 tips to help you plan accordingly."But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint." ~Isaiah 40:31

Throughout the years, countless people have told us they could never homeschool only because of the continual daily demands on their mental and physical state. We can definitely relate to that, as we’re sure every homeschool mom can. We’ve had seasons of great challenge and also great reward in this area. In today’s episode, we discuss methods we used to keep the homeschool ball rolling because if we don’t have the stamina, who will? We're releasing this episode at the beginning of the Holiday season for mom's to gain the strategies inside to use during this stressful season.
We are honored to have Deanna Hanson founder of Block Therapy join us in this episode. We were introduced to this unique exercise program towards the end of our homeschool journey and wish we would’ve known about it sooner. We both have reaped the benefits of this practice. Deanna will share the basic concepts for you to start using them today to reduce stress and improve overall wellness.
