Another chapter in the book of proverbs full of warnings and instructions.
One verse that is very comely to look upon is "He who gives to the poor will never want"
Instead of crying about want and lack, do not withhold your hand when you have an opportunity to give to anyone, especially the poor.
The lazy person [who is self-indulgent and relies on lame excuses] says, “There is a lion in the road!
A lion is in the open square [and if I go outside to work I will be killed]!” This is how lazy a person can get.
There is a very clear warning here in this scripture not to get carried away with luxury that you cannot stand your ground to speak against what is wrong.
A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. If you would not take anything from this entire chapter, you should take this. I assure you, this chapter is full of nuggets that have the capacity to transform your thinking and your daily life.

This chapter starts with a strong theme of trust in God. We can see the evidence of this reading the first verse that says "The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will." - KJV
Continuing with yet more favorite themes, this chapter states that it's better to be poor and have integrity than to be a fool. One of the aspects of being a fool is desiring things without having any knowledge—letting your wants lead you by the nose, essentially, with no reflection.
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
The tongue is one of the most important tools of life that God created, it is important to find out its use.
Did you ever think that you would see anything about bribes in the scriptures? Apparently, a bribe can work wonders.

Here in this episode, we learn and see the comparisons of an honest man and a dishonest man, a just man and an unjust man.

Chapter 10 begins a long series of individual statements, each of these is a "proverb" in and of itself.
The proverbs of chapter 10 are mostly aimed at comparing the consequences one can expect from leading a righteous life as opposed to leading a wicked life. The comparison term "but" is repeated in almost every verse.
These wise comments begin with a summary of how righteousness and evil result in different reputations.
Those who participate in godly wisdom have a better likelihood of success. They are less likely to invite revenge, punishment, or judgment because of their actions.
Those who learn godliness, and pass it along to others, can give valuable advice. In contrast, those who sneer at truth lead other people into disaster.
Wisdom is basically reading her resume.
This is to say in essence, why not listen to someone with such wealth of experience?
The warnings on adultery continue, but we are first admonished not to be to quick to stand as a guarantor for a person.
The lessons in this chapter are endless.
This entire section of proverbs is a reminder that God knows and sees all things, regardless of where a person hides to commit sin,
God sees, God knows.
Amazingly, God can and will forgive those who seek him, but forgiveness does not change the consequences of the sin.
As you listen in this episode, you will receive insight on how to identify and avoid sins.
He says here that when he was a child, his father taught him the very same things he is teaching his son now,. Basically, his dad said to him, "Listen to me, attend to the things i am saying and you will receive long life." In this episode, we discuss how to protect your heart from evil. The heart is the major controller of life and so it is important to know what goes into it.
It is a very key thing to have wisdom and here in chapter 3 of the book of Proverbs, one of the ways to get wisdom is through trust.
King Solomon teaches his son to trust in God with all his heart and not do anything on his own. We also get to find out that God becomes a friend to a person who is upright and applies wisdom.
Three major things to note:
