Kristian Jorgensen ran his best UTMB performance to date at the TDS 2022, ranking 15th among his competitions. We might think it is because everything went well with his run but it wasn’t. He ran the first part of the race with a rolled ankle and at the halfway he rolled the other one, causing the event medics to almost force him to stop his race.
This same horrific experience also happened with Kristian during his infamous balls incident during the Hongkong 4 Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC). HK4TUC is a self-supported 298 kilometer challenge in HK where he finished first among fellow survivors in 55 hours, making him the 7th person to finish the whole route under the 60 hours challenge during that edition. He made a mistake of shaving a few days before causing him bad chafing at the first part of the race and to go on commando, literally just wearing the T8 Commando Underwear until it was comfortable enough wear shorts.
For Kristian, his success is born out of his desire to RUN because he wants to RUN. He doesn’t consider his activities as training for a race or racing to podium.
He shared that he just keeps running since he started in the sports - his improved performance and elite looking physique and record breaking performances followed.
Kristian is a Danish staying in the Philippines for more than a decade with his family and two kids. He love the Philippines so much and he wishes the Philippine trail running community unites and works together for improvement for it to flourish and bring out the better athletes in everyone.
We enjoyed this conversation so much and got inspired to hop on to the nearest trails and just RUN.

In this episode, we had a deep and exciting conversation with John Aguilar.
John is a serial entrepreneur; a producer and host in CNN Philippines for the Final Pitch (The Final Pitch – The first business reality tv show in the Philippines.) as host and for Philippine Realty TV as producer. You can listen to his podcast at Methods to Greatness. He is also an author and is indeed a game-changer in whatever he is into.
Sports, early on in his growing up years as an athletics varsity player later on as training pool for a potential stint in the SEA Games prior to retiring, taught John to take the cards we have to deal with and maximize that chance. This, he believes molded him into his own path to greatness. Even with a busy schedule as he started his media career and left the training team, John stayed the course and stayed active. He shared it’s all about balance and knowing that at some point there could be imbalance in your priorities.
He recently bagged the bronze medal in the Ninja World Cup100 – Leg 1 by the World Obstacle Federation, organized by the Pilipinas Obstacle Federation - an event that is the first in the world giving its competitors a first-hand taste of the obstacles ahead. Competitors had to go through a 100-meter Ninja course with 15 obstacles.
During the event, a penalty cost him around 20 seconds and he had to take a dive, executing a move called lachet that he hasn’t done in practice. This would make up and keep him in the running for a medal. He took the risk, faced what’s in front of him and nailed his spot in the podium.
His recent performance showed how you can achieve greatness in sports. Always go for that chance; leaving you with no regret. And this applies as well to how you deal with the other aspects of life.
In the episode, John also shared about how the sports OCR Ninja is growing and how it deserves to be given more attention with all the accolades it has achieved. Listen to this episode as John makes his Final Pitch for the sports of OCR Ninja.
We hope you get inspired to find your greatness through sports in this episode, we surely did!

Doing sports as siblings may mean competition especially when you’re growing up. But that’s not the case for our guest(S) in this episode, the identical twin brothers of triathlon – Kevin and Elvin Sanchez.
The twin brothers have always been active in sports growing up but would take different paths and ends up being fond of different sports as they went into their own careers; Kelvin as a medical technologist and Elvin as a nurse.
It was not until after a year of Kelvin doing triathlon that Elvin decided to try the sports, gradually doing short distance races. It was easy for them as they came from a family who started swimming and joining competitive races together with their 3 older sisters when they were kids.
When Elvin saw Kelvin cross the Ironman Philippines finish line in 2022, it made him believe that he can be an Ironman himself, too. And Kelvin helped and swam, bike, ran with Elvin in training until they toe the starting line of the Ironman 70.3 Cebu.
Listen to this episode and be double inspired by two stories – same look, same voice, same sports but different journey to the Ironman finish line.
Jaymie Pizarro, better known as The Bull Runner has (almost) run the world. Literally. Being the first Filipino to complete the World Marathon Majors (New York, Chicago, Berlin, London, Tokyo, and Boston) and a total of 19 marathons and counting you would think she is a naturally-born athlete.
But, for Jaymie, running happened only at the age of 30, then a young mom of two who was looking for ways to lose weight. She found herself and since then has not looked back.
As long as her feet will allow her, she intends to run and considers it her mission to help others find their own love for the sport.
In 2008, Jaymie created a running blog called TheBullRunner.com which has since become the resource for most runners in the Philippines, including our host Tin when she started running in the same year. This eventually had a spin-off to a magazine which ran for a couple of years.
In 2010, together with co-founder Jim Lafferty, Jaymie launched The Bull Runner Dream Marathon, the only marathon in the world that caters to first and second-time marathoners. It has since then allowed dreamers to say, "I am a marathoner", at six thousand and counting todate.
In the middle of the pandemic, Jaymie also founded TempoByTBR.com which is an online wellness platform that helps people live healthier, happier lives.
As the pandemic restriction eased up, Jaymie has also launched the-omit Basecamp. This program, a part of the TBR Dream Marathon University, takes participants to build their running base from zero to the state when they are ready to get started in their marathon journey.
We had fun reminiscing about running in the Philippines, learning and getting inspired with Jaymie’s own running journey and feeling inspired on how she uses her platform to show everyone that they can run the world, literally and figuratively. Listen and enjoy!

Our host Andro had a friendly bet with runner Meg Entrata for their first in-person road race – a half marathon at the Rock N Roll event that happened on June 19, 2022.
From a bet on who would finish stronger, both of them got pushed to stick to their training plans until burnout happened.
Burnout in training happens to everyone but for Andro and Meg, they were lucky to have the friendly competition as a push. From a bet against each other they ended up betting on each other as they face the same struggles and conquer small and big wins during their race preparations.
Who won this bet? Listen to this fun and casual conversation in this 50 minute conversation.

CHASING GOLD MEDALS: SEA Games Medalist Christine Hallasgo shares how athletic competitions brings hope and inspires
Growing in a family with 13 siblings, Christine has been tapped to compete in athletics growing up. With meager resources, not even having a proper running shoes at that time, she felt short of being able to compete in Palarong Pambansa in high school. She later on had to stop with studies to help support her family. Later on, she was driven back to the sport to earn herself a college degree through scholarship, a few extra income from race prizes and perhaps a chance to get a chance for better opportunities.
Knowing she has potential, she has set her eyes to get qualified for SEA Games 2019, held in the Philippines at that time. She almost didn’t make it to the starting line but fought herself to it and eventually became the dark horse in the marathon competition bringing the country its Gold Medal for the marathon.
Her success story was cut short as pandemic hits. With no competition in sight, her personal resources and training becoming restricted; even the soles of her running shoes have been wearing out. But she didn’t lose hope. This time, she was not just driven by how it can bring her out of poverty; but how she can continue her chase for the gold medal for the country and to inspire those who are losing hope.
With a less than ideal preparation for a marathon competition, she brought the silver medal. A rank short of what she ultimately hopes for during the game but a step closer to chasing the Olympic dreams.
We hope you get some inspiration from her – we surely did during this 40-minute conversation.

In this episode, we will meet a well-known lawyer Star Elamparo who was an accidental marathoner in 2018. She started her journey to fitness after winning her battle with cancer. Star is not done chasing the marathon stars and she plans to do it for as long as she can.
