This week Elizabeth wraps up our sermon series in James. She dives into how our biblical faith is not blind, and how it is important for us to realize that. Our faith is built around trusting evidence of God's faithfulness and knowing the promise Jesus represents. Where have you seen God's goodness in your life? Do you seek Jesus or what He does for you? Is there an area in your life where others might think it is crazy that you are being so patient and radically trusting God?

This week we continue our sermon series in James, Haley walks us through the fourth chapter. Peace is something that we truly desire in our lives, so what are the 3 keys for finding peace in our lives? What steals our ability to find peace? What makes it hard to hold onto peace? What is something in our lives that we need to surrender to God to allow us to find peace?

This week, we continue our study of James. Haley looks at the third chapter of James, where he speaks about the taming of the tongue. The tongue contains a lot of power in our everyday lives. How do the things we speak impact others? Our words are direct reflections of our heart so what do they show the people around us? Why should we care about the words we speak? What are our words creating?

As we continue to work our way through the Letter of James, Elizabeth jumps into Chapter 2. James challenges us to show our faith through our works because faith without works is dead. Elizabeth gives us an amazing understanding of this chapter as well as the biblical view that faith and obedience are essentially unified. What would someone say you are passionate about looking at your life from the outside? What do your choices say about what you believe?

This week we start a new sermon series in the Letter of James. Haley dives in giving us an outline of what direction we will be going down over the next few weeks. What are some takeaways from this letter, as we look inward and at our own hearts? How can we transition to being contributors rather than just consumers? How are we going to allow the Letter of James to transform us into new followers of Jesus?

Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection and beating yourself up for your flaws? We can relate. In this sermon, our special student guest, Kaleigh Martin, recaps what we learned about the Shema (Deut. 6:4-5) at Spring Retreat and reflects on the powerful truth that God has shown us grace upon grace. What would it look like to rest in that abundant grace and allow God to shape you?

When asked what the very greatest commandment was, Jesus answered: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ Sound familiar? He’s quoting the Shema! To close out our weekend of reflection on this prayer, Haley shows us what the greatest commandment means for believers today. The truth is that everything we do, everything we think, and everything we say is shaped by some sort of lens. What's your lens? Jesus wants it to be love!

Imagine you are about to enter a room, and inside it you will see the thing you want most in the whole world. What would be inside? In our morning devotional from Spring Retreat, Elizabeth continues to lead us through the Shema (Deut. 6:4-5) and reflects on the fact that God says His most important commandment is to love Him with our entire being. The truth is that what God wants most in the whole world is your heart, and the journey of discipleship involves surrendering more and more of ourselves to Him.

So the question is: what do you love most...and is it God?

For thousands of years, Jewish people have prayed these words every morning and every evening: “Hear O Israel, the LORD is our God, the LORD is one, and as for you, you shall love the LORD your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.” This prayer is called the “Shema.” To begin our Spring Retreat, Haley encourages us to reflect on the very first word, which is Shema! In Hebrew, “shema” means more than just hearing; in order to truly “shema,” we must listen, respond, and obey. What would it look like for you to truly “shema” to what God has to say to you?

What is God up to? As we wrap up our sermon series through the Covenants we look at the Davidic covenant and the new covenant. God has been planning to restore humanity and their hearts made of stone. After countless failures, and broken covenants God reacts in a way we never thought God would. What are these covenants and how do they affect our lives today? When the Israelites break the covenants, how does God react? What does it mean to you to have a heart of flesh? What does the New Covenant mean for us?

What are some ways that God is trying to transform you currently?

This week we continued our series on the different covenants God makes with us in the Bible. We focus on the Abrahamic covenant that God makes, the promise of his family becoming as numerous as the stars, and God’s blessing on Abraham and his family. What happens with this covenant, and what can we learn from Abraham in this story? What do we learn about God’s character through this covenant he makes with Abraham? Where are you still waiting on God in your life?

This is the final week in our sermon series, The Other Side of Grace. As we wrap up our study in Matthew 23, how might we grow deeper in our faith? Jesus has been calling out and exposing the Pharisees of the wrong they have been doing, although they may be living and doing the required tasks, they're missing the point. God cares about your heart, soul, and mind more than what we produce. How might we make sure that the inside is clean before we clean the outside? How might we change to produce a more fruitful and Godly life? How is God working in our lives to allow beautiful things to sprout in us?

This week we continue our sermon series in Matthew 23. As we continue to dive into Matthew 23, we look at the Woes. Jesus is calling out the people with how they are acting. How might He be calling you out? Jesus sees the potential we carry and knows that we are better than we are acting. How might we show that we are someone who lives with integrity? How might we live into being people who invite others to experience what we're experiencing?

This week we dive into our new sermon series, The Other Side of Grace. The past few weeks we have been in Hosea and we have looked at the kind of grace that God shows us when we sin. Now as we dive into Matthew we are beginning to see a different side of grace from God. How would you describe grace? What if we were people who decided to be the same on the outside as we are on the inside and allowed grace to change the inside if it wasn't worth sharing?
