I got teary eyed again listening to this emotional recount of Oakley's early days, and also so uplifted at hearing his amazing story of how he is slowly recovering against all the odds handed to him at 2 days old. Her energy is infectious and I am deeply humbled listening to their life story.
Daryl is a powerhouse of a mother, forging his path with him. You can find her on Instagram at @acornupdates
Oakley was born with an imperfect brain, and was on a NG tube, intubated and was having seizures. He isn't fully mobile, is registered blind and non-verbal.
This is their wonderful story worth listening to. You don't have to have everything in common in order to gain so much from their experience.

Disclaimer: during this recording, the internet cut out so I had to edit this conversation. The thing is, I was a bit overzealous with the editing, a bit like when you cut your own fringe for the first time and cut too much off, and now you can't go back. So I sound like I'm in a hurry at the start, but I promise I calm down.
I have worked with Arjola and Steven for several years and seen tremendous progress. Working with a child for so long has helped me see what can really be achieved, how long it tales, and what it takes, so I can pass that information onto mothers, without relying on theories.
They are both bilingual, living in the USA. He had severe eating issues, he could not chew and held food in his cheeks. When I observe him in calls now, he looks neurotypical, plays appropriately for his age and answers my questions by typing on a tablet.
We both never knew this was going to happen at the start, and persevered.
This is Arjola's story:

Josh came to my homeopathic team at 6 years old, because he regressed and lost his speech at 18 months old. He had a whole list of issues to be healed. This is his story, as a child who has made tremendous gains, some came fast and some came slow and steady.

I'd love to know what you think of some of the ideas she talks about.
This was such a brilliant subject to start my podcast chats with. Jennie Harrison is a therapist who focusses on birth trauma and facilitates healing for the mother and the child. She talks about how this affects the mother and child differently, and how these events shape our lives as children and further into adulthood.
As my community is varied in their needs, I think that this is a chat which will benefit all of my listeners. Enjoy - because I did!
You can find Jennie Harrison by clicking here on Instagram, and Facebook and her website and most importantly her free 5 day mini course on reconnecting back to your power.
