Blending our families and our knowledge of real estate, business, architecture and design with good humans that we meet along the way. – it’s a journey that not many people know, but if you know - you know. Our Podcast series focuses on our personal experiences of creating, curating, building and growing a collective of family-owned small businesses founded by husband-and-wife team Chris Fischer and Laurie Moulton and created organically from our shared love of our family, architecture and design. Our portfolio of businesses consists of House of Lolo, Lolo Interiors, Lux Box Agency, Lux Box Vacation Rentals and Lux Box Collection, all focused on the cultivation of meaningful experiences for you and your home.
The new year is upon us, and reflection is upon us. In looking back, we realized not only what was accomplished over that past year but became overwhelmed in processing all that has been accomplished over the past many years. We started out with the intention of creating a family business, and that has now grown to multiple families working within our family of business. We are not looking for blood relatives but we are looking for the right person. In this episode we discuss what we look for in "family".
We love selling and managing real estate with Lux Box Agency, curating beautiful clothing & home decor at House of Lolo, but at our core, we are creatives who like to dream, build and design and thats how Lolo Interiors was born. In this this episode, we talk about the future and how design is a key component to our our path forward.
Lolo Interiors is an origin story that finds its foundation in our passion for designing and building. It has happened organically but it is clear that it is hard to hold back what comes naturally. The one constant in our lives has been our creativity and Lolo Interiors is a conduit for us to let that creativity flow. This episodes explores Laurie's evolution as a designer and gives insight into Chris' knack for creating and building.

What is a "Lux Box"? This episode answers that question and explores our unique approach to starting a boutique real estate brokerage that includes both sales and rentals in the greater Palm Springs, CA area.
Our approach to the buying process is essential to the success of our retail business. We are fully dependent upon the ability to curate - which creates the demand. We analyze data, see trends in the industry and our business and rely heavily upon that information to make our decisions. We don't always get it right. We discuss the impacts of a "miss" but more importantly the impacts of utilizing the tools we have implemented to curate exactly what our customer is looking for.

This episode dives into the experience of starting a clothing boutique. We touch on the buying process, inventory sell through, the use of data to drive decisions and our initial entry into taking our store online. Our philosophy was if you build it, they will come, but is that the reality?
