Unlike NE where is a not for profit organisation founded to support by giving a professional voice to those in the North East of England who are making a genuine difference to the people and communities in our region.
Through film and animation we tell and share stories which are not necessarily easy to access, but which need to be told both inside and outside our region.
We seek to inspire, surprise and connect audiences with the North East, and to show our region with honesty, passion, integrity and humour. Most importantly, we drive action, encouraging new connections and positive outcome
Episode 6 - Jon tells his fascinating story, from his start on the northeast coast, through becoming a performer and song writer and building a career in journalism, PR and the music industry.
Episode 5 - As an extremely successful University Professor, from Sunderland and still teaching there, Peter’s story and hos love of music is fascinating. Add to that a life changing event in recent years and a commitment to allowing no barriers slow down his drive a passion for life, and you will be I hope, as I certainly was, wowed by this story. Inspirational.
Episode 4 - In this episode we meet a ‘Northeasterner’, with an amazing career, here in London and York, who is currently the Chairman of the Board of the Bernicia Group, one of the primary social housing organisations in our region. Add to that a passion for cycling, that has driven a new charity challenge based on the journey of the relics of St Cuthbert. Enjoy.
Episode 3 - In 2013, an amazing new charity was born in the northeast, in this podcast we met the incredible and inspirational Bianca, who told us her story, starting in New Zealand and how she found her mission to end rough sleeping here and then right across the UK.
Episode 2 - This podcast was a pleasure to make, because it would be very hard to meet two more engaging, interesting and talented Geordie’s than Mark and Shaun. An incredible story and you can watch the Byker Lion, see the launch event.
Episode 1 - If you want to meet an inspirational man from the northeast, here he is. After a start in Sunderland Wilson volunteered and was successful in his aspiration to train as an RAF pilot. He tells us his amazing story and as a fighting fit 96 year old, is an incredible gentleman to meet and learn from.
