Is there a more divisive, controversial, or (for many) painful issue than abortion? 1 in 3 women in the UK has at least one abortion in her lifetime, and yet almost no-one is talking about it. If the subject ever is broached, it’s often not in the most helpful way: more heat than light; people talking past, at, or for each other, instead of to each other. It’s time for a proper conversation about abortion. Dave Brennan, together with a whole range of guests, helps us to think through this issue carefully and calmly, examining facts, experiences, and arguments from all sides.

Having challenged the UK Church's self-distancing from Charlie Kirk in the last video ( • Rejecting Charlie Kirk: The UK Church's Sh... ), in this video Dave examines the way of thinking that seeks to justify such neutrality - "Third Way -ism".Dave argues that Third Way -ism has been thoroughly discredited by events of the last two weeks especially, and that to hold onto it at such a time as this is untenable.Held up against Scripture, case studies, and logic, the Third Way is found wanting.Apart from anything else, the Third Way approach gives cover to those who would advance or defend the baby genocide raging on both sides of the Atlantic. The media has been filled over the last few days with the horrific story of Lucy Letby murdering at least seven neonatal babies under her care at the Countess of Chester hospital.
Condemnation of the attacks has been unanimous, and she has been dubbed the worst serial child killer in modern British history.
But is she?
Dave brings on his old friend and colleague Aisling Goodison who has worked for CBRUK for many years, and who also sought to prosecute two doctors for offering sex-selective abortion, only to be turned away by the Crown Prosecution Service who said it wasn't in the public interest to proceed.

Why didn't Jesus go round fixing all the social ills of the day?
Is politics a distraction from the gospel?
Is this a nuanced issue, or black and white?
What are we to make of the "polarisation" issue that Sats mentions?
In “Honest Conversations” we are speaking exclusively with church leaders about the importance of engaging the issue of “abortion” from the front of church, and in particular why it seems so hard to do so. We’ll also be hearing encouragement and practical advice on various aspects of ministering in this area, in the context of the local church.
The “pastor-to-pastor” format means that what you’ll be hearing in these podcasts is not the observations of armchair analysts or keyboard warriors, but reports from servants of the word of God on the frontlines, where biblical principles are being applied in real-life congregations and communities.
Whilst some of the church leaders we’ll be speaking with have been ministering in this area for a number of years, many of them are relatively new to engaging the issue and some are only just starting out or are even wondering whether to. All of us still have a long way to go.
Join us as we learn from one another and seek to expose and dismantle the obstacles standing in the way of bringing the whole counsel of God to bear on the whole of the Christian life, individual and corporate.

Welcome back to “Honest Conversations”, a new mini-series we are running alongside “Womb with a View”.
Whilst “Womb with a View” looks straight at the unborn child biblically and theologically, in “Honest Conversations” we are speaking exclusively with church leaders about the importance of engaging the issue of “abortion” from the front of church, and in particular why it seems so hard to do so. We’ll also be hearing encouragement and practical advice on various aspects of ministering in this area, in the context of the local church.
Not only analytical but also constructive, it is hoped that this mini-series will be of help especially to those involved in church leadership as they seek to address one of the most critical issues of our day.
The “pastor-to-pastor” format means that what you’ll be hearing in these podcasts is not the observations of armchair analysts or keyboard warriors, but reports from servants of the word of God on the frontlines, where biblical principles are being applied in real-life congregations and communities.
Whilst some of the church leaders we’ll be speaking with have been ministering in this area for a number of years, many of them are relatively new to engaging the issue and some are only just starting out. All of us still have a long way to go.
Join us as we learn from one another and seek to expose and dismantle the obstacles standing in the way of bringing the whole counsel of God to bear on the whole of the Christian life, individual and corporate.
In this week’s episode we speak with Pastor Ebow Essel from Basingstoke.
Ebow was born and raised in Ghana before serving in the British military and continuing his education in the UK. After receiving a clear calling to full-time gospel work, he left his pursuit of a career in engineering and worked and studied across a number of different church denominations before coming to pastor Wessex Christian Fellowship.
