What a super experience interviewing Mr. Brad Barr from The Barr Brothers Band... Here's the skinning on these MF's... The Barr Brothers, an indie folk band hailing from Montreal, Quebec, have been making waves in the music scene since their formation in 2006. Founded by American brothers Andrew (drums, percussion, vocals, keyboards) and Brad Barr (guitar, vocals), the band's unique sound is enriched by bassist Morgan Moore, pedal steel guitarist Brett Lanier, and harpist Eveline Gregoire-Rousseau. Their journey began when Brad and Andrew, originally from Providence, RI, relocated to Montreal after years of touring and recording as part of The Slip. Lucas Choi Zimbel is one of the hardest working musicians in Montreal's English language folk scene. With monthly residencies in the city's most respected cultural spaces and bars, he has been putting up an impressive number of shows since 2014. For his solo act, he mostly finger-picks his way through colourful chords on the acoustic guitar. He also plays bluegrass, gypsy jazz and fiddle tunes from all over the world. In addition to the guitar, he plays accordion and clarinet. His lyrics reflect the changing times.
