In 1999, Georg Andersen wrote a book titled “Silent Witness: The Language of Your Home.” In this book, Andersen proposed that every family should present and weave Christian testimony into their home, allowing it to speak volumes in sharing a powerful testimony. In taking the phrase originally coined by Andersen, what does it actually mean for your home to be a silent witness for Christ?
Quick Question: What is the difference between biblical hospitality and worldly entertaining? I would submit that before you open the doors to your home this holiday season–welcoming friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and church members–knowing and being able to recognize the difference between the two is crucially important.
Joy must be an important and vital part of the Christian life because it actually testifies of God’s goodness and work in our hearts and lives. Even further, joy is evidence of having grateful and thankful hearts. As text-driven women, we should seek to cultivate a heart of joyful thankfulness.
Similar to the biblical term, submission, many do not know the true, biblical definition or have a clear biblical understanding of the fruit of gentleness and self-control. Often confused or attributed to weakness, we actually read an altogether different picture of these two fruits of the Spirit.
We're walking through our third characteristic of a text-driven woman and that is a woman filled with the Spirit.
