In todays episode i will be talking about Black Friday and how it connects to consumerism and the “coincidence” that it also happens to be on Native American heritage day... I discuss a couple different theories of the origin of this tradition and how they relate to broader socio-economic concepts. This is the second to last episode of season 2, which will end on December 1st.

Today's episode will be about celebrity culture, and escapism within late stage capitalist america. This episode will be focused and centered on actual people- specifically Travis Scott and his concert on November 5th in Houston Texas, but will also include mentions of the Kardashian Jenners. I want to acknowledge that Travis Scott's concert was a horrible tragedy and those people did not deserve to die. My heart goes out to them. I tried my best in this episode to be as sensitive to that tragedy as I can while discussing the socio economic foundations.

This episode is pretty chill and laid back so I put music in the background. I talk and contemplate the idea of generosity under capitalism and just in general and where the lines are between exploitation and selflessness. I got feedback from people on my instagram, snapchat, email and twitter on this topic as well. Hope you enjoyed!

In this episode I will take you through the “obesity” epidemic in America, and now worldwide, and how that connects to capitalism. First we will look at the general food industry, which then funnels into the diet and weight loss culture, and finally the American healthcare system.

My research and ideas on this are purely a critique of western society and The United States specifically. This is in no way related to makeup use of indigenous people or cultures outside of America. This also is an analysis of mainstream makeup trends.

This episode is not strictly about leftist/radical analysis, but includes it. This is a project I did for AP US history at Edina Highschool. I went around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis and asked strangers what they think is the most influential historical event they've witnessed in their lives. Enjoy!
Shout out to my APUSH teacher Mr. Anderson for the A I got on this project

This weeks episode dives into the evolutionary impact of capitalism, and how depression stems from that. Theres a lot of other nuances and information I didn't add to this because if I did this episode would be 3 hours long. Enjoy!
