In todays episode i will be talking about Black Friday and how it connects to consumerism and the “coincidence” that it also happens to be on Native American heritage day... I discuss a couple different theories of the origin of this tradition and how they relate to broader socio-economic concepts. This is the second to last episode of season 2, which will end on December 1st.

Today's episode will be about celebrity culture, and escapism within late stage capitalist america. This episode will be focused and centered on actual people- specifically Travis Scott and his concert on November 5th in Houston Texas, but will also include mentions of the Kardashian Jenners. I want to acknowledge that Travis Scott's concert was a horrible tragedy and those people did not deserve to die. My heart goes out to them. I tried my best in this episode to be as sensitive to that tragedy as I can while discussing the socio economic foundations.
