Happy Wednesday everybody!

Somehow we've already gone a whole year from when Kait graduated to now it being Meg?! Meg also has some exciting news to share right off the bat, and we are so excited for her!!!

Megan's roommate Anelise joins us today to chat on how, though she's gone four years and participating in all of the senior activities, she is not actually going to be done quite yet. Taking another year of undergrad gives you some more time for other opportunities! Lise chats all on her upcoming travel, some business/some pleasure, and her outlook about sticking around for another year... before then going on to more school... POWER TO YOU LISE.

Though Meg and Kait took a little break, we are back at it with an episode featuring yet another entrepreneur that you're all going to want to book by the time the episode is over. Leah Wafful (yes WAFFUL) joins us today to delve into how she started out as a typical college grad getting that corporate job with the stable income only to realize that just was not cutting it for her. Flash forward to 2018 she opens Bronze515 in Urbandale, IA - an airbrush spray tanning salon. Flash forward again to 2020, owning a business that primarily is dependent on events also came to a temporary halt. Leah had this time to dream up her next entrepreneurial venture, and this is where our episode will mostly pick up today - the dream, creation, and now reality of Waffles and Whip in the Des Moines, IA metro area.

Hey TGH-ers! Meg and Kait meet up today to chat on spring break being back this year after Kait’s senior year didn’t “technically” have a spring break. We also talk on how Meg’s trip almost got derailed and Kait’s early attempts at navigation of dog mom life.

Fun fact though gang, we’re going to take a little break. Life is getting hectic and our ultimate goal is to provide a fun, but inviting and informative space every week for you listeners. We’re taking a brief break to get a new line up set up and we are so excited to share with you new episodes and new guests in the future.

Enjoy your month friends! :)

Hey hey hey TGH-ers! We needed a little Bachelor recap this week with Kait's other partner-in-crime in the pop culture world, AKA Meg's roommate, AKA Lauren Landis! Between keeping some people on too long, cutting others as soon as he needed to, and actually forming some connections, we needed to give Clayton at least a little tip of the cap. Match that with how Lauren is adjusting to the adult world, a couple more parking tickets for Meg (sadly), and more puppy prep for Kait, and you've got yourself an episode!

Today's episode is a couch chat that stems from the most wholesome, chill Saturday morning. We're covering our respective weekends in Colorado, a quick morning recap, and Kait's whirlwind of a week that turned into her getting a dog?! The show today needs little intro, but came hang out with us for half hour!

Happy Wednesday gang! One of Kait's cousins joins the pod today to chat all things being a coach's wife. There are so many positives to that, but in addition we wanted to touch on how that can affect your own career and relationships! Hits home for Meg here, but if you might also be in the same boat Jen's throwing out mic-drop advice here, so listen in. Thanks to Jennifer for joining and we hope you enjoy!

This week on the podcast we're diving into something we've never touched on the podcast - our faith! Haley Schepers, a pastoral intern at the church Meg and Kait did (do) their college ministry through, joins us to chat on all things Jesus and how sometimes you can go all the way through with your Bachelor degree, work in the corporate world, and still just KNOW that it's not for you. It's important to follow your passions, and Haley is the prime example of that! She is day in and day out making a difference in so many people's lives, especially during one of the most chaotic time period for most (college), and we are so excited to show case that.

This time around the goal was to talk about the importance of love languages. Did we talk about that? Yes; but we also wanted to make this a fun episode too and when we have this historical guest join us, you also need food. This episode we're also doing a little Ben & Jerry's ice cream review, diving back deep into elementary school "dating" trauma, and then also doig some celebrating of Meg and Kait's FIFTIETH EPISODE being published.

Happy Friday everyone! Enjoy this and be prepared to do some laughing....

Hey TGH-ers! (We seriously need a catchier name for our listener base... we'll work on that) We're back tonight with tapas bar of a podcast if you will: a little of this, a little of that, and a dash of pop-culture references completes our 49th episode! Tune in to have a front and center seat to 'Girls Night' that consisted of a return of a veteran guest, a trivia win (?), ice cream, podcasting, and the infamous musical The Sound of Music. Kait is still shocked Meg hadn't seen that movie up until then: have any of you not seen The Sound of Music?

Enjoy the episode this week! Please feel free to leave a rating on any listening platform that you tune in to.

New year, new post date!

We're joined today with a couple of the hosts from The Between the Lines Podcast to take on our next topic in 'The Dating Series': dating app no-go's, some traffic light signs (???) when it comes to dating app profiles, and then the hot topic of what in the world is this "talking" phase that our generation has created. This definitely had us talking in circles and everyone changing their thoughts - the best debate we've had on our show to date.

Enjoy this week's episode!

For starters today? Go Cyclones. To add to that, we've got a great episode filled with resolution talk, reflection chat, and of course our staples of Ginger Joys, Ales, and something we're looking forward to in the year of 2022! As Kait puts it more than once, it's been a damn good year and we're ready to see what's in store for us in the upcoming one.

Happy New Year everyone!

Hello! We are back at it again this week, but really it was not as easy to produce as we thought it was going to be... seriously listen to even just the first 30 seconds to find out why... We are trying to tackle a topic that is SO relatable and of common interest for our demographic of  listeners, but do you know how many aspects there are to dating??? A LOT. We simply cannot handle this ourselves. We've decided to turn this topic into an arc of episodes. Over this arc we'll cover a variety of topics and have different guests on to help us out along the way.

With that being said, enjoy Part 1!

TGHers. We must apologize. That month really got away from us and it went oh so quick; but we are back and more determined than ever to bring some fun content your way. This week? We need to catch up. Meg went to DUBAI. Kaitlyn is LIVING ALONE. We have big topics to cover and somehow only an hour to do so. We obviously sprinkle in some Bachelor chat and some talk on the big Christmas holiday coming up since it snowed the day we recorded this... 'It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...' as the saying goes ;)

We're so excited to be back with all of you. That was definitely our longest break we've ever had since starting the show!!! Never again TGHers. Never again. xo - Meg & Kait

This week on The Ginger Hour we are celebrating ONE WHOLE FREAKING YEAR OF EXISTENCE! Meg and Kait are doing a lot of reminiscing this week and if you haven't ever heard even one episode of ours then today's episode might be the best one to get the low down on some of our favorite episodes. Throughout all of our reflecting during this episode, one thing remains incredibly constant: we are so thankful for anyone and everyone that has played even a tiny part in the making of this show. And the fact that we aren't going anywhere anytime soon... except Megan: she's going to Dubai in a couple days!

Enjoy the episode and we will catch you next time on The Ginger Hour!

The "Entrepreneurial Arc" continues here at The Ginger Hour Podcast! Welcome Samantha (otherwise known as Sami and/or 'Schup') to the pod this week. Sami has been running her own ~side hustle~ successfully and all while having fun doing it for well over 5 years. Amidst running this company (road to Fortune 500 baby!), she's gotten her Bachelor degree and is now pursuing her Masters! This is all partnered with becoming a recent homeowner, and waiting many many months for a couch to get delivered... and don't forget trying to make new friends in a new city! Sounds like a light load, huh? No seriously though. Sami sits down with us to have a very fun, real, and personal conversation about life and how building this business has affected it. You won't want to miss out on listening to this incredibly grounded individual throw out advice like she's got plenty to spare. Oh, and catch us at a wine night soon stuffing sock monkeys!

Remember that Christmas is coming up! Spread some cheer this year with the gift of a sock monkey.

Cam herself has a gluten intolerance, which then drew her to create a "side hustle" of her own gluten-free bakery! Right out of her own apartment. Is 'adventurers' even a word? I'm not sure, but we're making it one in this case. Two of Kaitlyn's college friends made the decision to go out on a post-graduation trip of a lifetime that did not go off without a hitch... in fact there were multiple "hitches".  From the van breaking down on Day 1, to losing the windshield and driving with safety goggles, to having a couple nights where the thought was 'oh s***, I hope we make it through the night', these two created experiences that they're going to be able to talk about for a lifetime to come. To Abs and Brit, THANK YOU for letting us spread your story!

Through this following she's been encouraged to get her CPT license and now has out her own gym guide for sale!

Listen in to hear more of how she got to where she is all the while still juggling a full time course load in college. Welcome Chloe!

Sharla Rowe joins us this week to talk about her various work experiences within the hospitality industry. Sharla's ability to go out of her comfort zone and take a chance has landed her some great opportunities to boost her resume. She's even met some familiar faces along the way. Her best advice though is to just do it. There's no harm in asking to see what ~hidden~ opportunities might be available to you. Like the saying goes, it's all about who you know!

Meg and Kait are going with the flow this week and are just having a (quick) chat amongst themselves. Listen in this week to go over the importance of enneagrams and if they’re really accurate for us or not! People say we’re a lot alike… but are we actually?

Ryan comes on the podcast today to discuss his own podcast and how that idea came to be. We help The Business Cloud celebrate their (almost) one year anniversary! Navigating podcasting is a hot topic, but so is Ryan's recent move to Boston, and his recent graduation from the University of Iowa. We also finish the pod with a fun round of "Finish the Lyric"... Enjoy!

Jackson Dietz joins Megan and Kaitlyn today to chat! Megan does some introductions to meet Jackson, they all discuss how he and Kaitlyn blindly went to a wedding together, and then most importantly how he and a couple friends are starting a podcast of their own in the near future. That being said, this podcast may also involve some tips, advice, and notes about podcasting in general; but Jackson also has some show notes (or note) of his own for Meg and Kait. The Gingers first full hour long episode doesn't go without laughs and good comradery though, so per usual... enjoy!

Today Jacob Hillmann comes back for a third round of podcast episodes. Kait and Jacob haven't seen each other in almost two months, so they get to catch up; we all discuss the new NIL law that was passed for college athletes; and per usual Jacob leaves us all with a funny story. Welcome back Jacob!

This week we have Cecelia Pfliger! Cecelia comes on as a long time friend (even roommate for awhile) of Kait's, but now leaves the pod as a friend of Meg's too. Cecelia had a dream of becoming a model, and through hard work, determination, and some major investing in herself she's living out that dream right now. Dreams don't always play out exactly how you want them to though, but it's being played out nonetheless. We cover topics like the behind-the-scenes of just starting out in the industry, being proud of the body you're modeling in, and how important it is to invest in yourself. Enjoy the episode this week, because I think you're all going to want to say you knew her before she "made it"!

In addition, it's hard to have a conversation with Michael where you're not laughing,  so enjoy that in today's episode as well. And as always, we'll catch you guys next week on The Ginger Hour.

Happy Wednesday listeners! Meg and Kait bring on Lauren (one of Meg's college roomies) to discuss all tea within The Bachelor world right now.
