Disclaimer: This episode talks about sensative topics regarding violence, abuse and asault towards people of color. As white content creators we want to make it clear that we arent profiting off of this topic. While we arent currently making money off of this podcast we do understand that we may benefit off of this episode in other ways and we want to encourage our white listeners of this episode to take what we are presenting and move forward to not only continue to educate yourselves but support the black community monitarily through reparations such as donating to your local racial justic organizations, supporting local and global independant black owned businesses and voting in favor of legislation that supports the BIPOC community. We are dedicated to taking action in these ways because we know that when oppressed communities thrive we all thrive. February is a reminder that Black history is our history. We need to do what we can as the future generations to educate ourselves on the past in order to pave way for a better future. Emily talks about Connecticuts historical involvment in the Abolitionist movement and the Undergound Railroad, while Abbey focuses on the more recent movements through Black Lives Matter and presents recourses at the end of the episode that our listeners can use and referense while continuing their own anti racism work. You guys requested it and we have delivered. Three Connecticut sights with astounding paranormal folklore. Two of the locations are more famous than the other. Listen to find out which stories had chilling evidence leaving us unsure and which location we think would be the one to check out. But after all, its up to you as the listener to decide.

2020 came to an end with many people having a lot to think about.
Abbey sits with Em and her crumpled piece of paper. One that carried the good, the bad and the ugly of 2020. From the forest fires in Australia that followed us from 2019, to the Black Lives Matter protests that erupted all over the world, to a transition in presidency to end the year. 2020 has been left with a negative cast, and rightfully so, but listen in and reflect with the girls as they shed all the bad to welcome 2021.

Join Abbey and Emily for a chill Sunday evening chat.
First we talk about a New Moon ceremony experience that is unique to the Yoga studio in the Factory, Luna and Lotus. Then we drift into the nature side of things, talking about mushroom foraging, how to determine whether a mushroom is edible, all the way to how trees communicate. We all have relationships with food and chocolate so we couldn't neglect that level of connection too. All here on another episode of the Milkweeds Podcast!
