‘Tumesota’ (meaning we are broke in Swahili slang) is a word Abigael, Pauline and Amira said way too often. The Covid-19 pandemic was the wake-up call they needed to realize that they don't want to live this way forever. And so began their quest towards financial freedom and literacy. These three Kenyan girls bring forth varying perspectives from their diverse upbringings. Join them for real, informative and engaging conversations about money, friendship, adulting and just life in general as they venture towards never saying 'Tumesota' again. Tumesota lakini Tunaomoka! Hosted by Abigael - The Disobedient Budgeter, Pauline - The Indecisive Saver and Amira - The Impulsive Spender. In the second last episode of the season, Pauline, Amira and Abigael touch on a topic that they had planned to discuss much earlier in May. The topic of Mental Health.
May is recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month and the girls felt like it was very important to address the ways in which money affects their mental wellness. Whether it's the lack of it, the pursuit of it or anything else in between.
The conversation gets deep fast but begins on a light note with 'Tumejam' and ends with a compelling challenge. **As usual, enjoy & get ready to go deep!

This week's episode is all about a topic the girls love to hate - TAXES.
Being that Tax Season is upon us, the topic couldn't be ignored.
The girls even brought a guest who's more of an expert on the topic than they are .
The episode begins with the guest Evans jamming about what's been making him mad before he proceeds to discuss all things taxes with Amira, Abigael and Pauline!
Amidst the conversation you will hear lots of rants about how taxes in Kenya aren't being put to good use because of corruption.
Let's just say, brace yourself because this episode is ALOT!
On the bright side, if the topic of taxes is scary to you, this is sure to make it easier to understand just in time for Tax Season.
So grab and notebook and pen if you have to!!
PS: Don't forget to file your taxes before June 30th. Tumesota LAKINI Tunaomoka!

After a three week break, the girls are BACK and they're keeping it real about the setbacks they've been experiencing recently.
In typical Tume$ota Podcast fashion, the girls begin the episode by jamming, (Tumejam) before they proceed to talk about how life has happened in their lives and how they're dealing with the curveballs.
Of course, there's also a challenge at the end but overall, this episode is pretty much Amira, Abigael and Pauline bringing the audience and themselves up to speed as to what's been going on.
Enjoy the episode!
If you're in a season of setbacks, you're not alone.
Your comeback season is around the corner.

Good news, Abby is back and this week's episode is the first of it's kind because it's virtual!
The episode starts off with the girls catching up, welcoming Abby back whilst jamming about the fact that they're not together in person.
Thereafter, in honour of Mother's Day that's coming up, the girls discuss the financial lessons they've learnt from their mothers and some of the things they'll do financially when/if they become mothers in the future.
In typical Tume$ota fashion the girls close the episode with a challenge!
Bear with them and enjoy.
Hopefully, the girls will be reunited soon,
Happy Mother's Day to you and yours in the meantime!

This week's episode Amira and Pauline are joined by a guest as they wait Abby's return and that guest is none other than Pauline's sister Grace.
The episode starts off with Grace jamming about a dreadful flight experience before the girls talk about what it's like being a student in a pandemic and how one can make money while in school. Because Pauline and Amira aren't students anymore, Grace came to lend her voice since she's living the student life. They also have a phone-in call from Bradley who was supposed to be a guest but couldn't make it.
In usual, Tume$ota fashion the episode closes out with a challenge courtesy of Grace.
Enjoy the gems and the banter!

Are you ready for one of the most vulnerable, sentimental and funny episodes yet?
Well that's what you're in for because the girls are celebrating Amira's 24th birthday.
It's no secret that the girls were friends first before they were podcasters and this episode puts their friendship to the test.
As usual, the girls begin by discussing what their jamming about before Amira proceeds to quiz Pauline and Abigael to see how well they know her.
Thereafter, the girls share for Amira and the birthday girl has the honour of dishing out this week's challenge before closing the podcast out in a unique way that has never happened before - with a prayer.
It's important to celebrate and give people their flowers while they can still smell them - so send Amira some birthday love or bless her m-pesa if you're feeling extra generous.
We hope you enjoy the episode!

As promised, Anto is back for a bonus episode because 1 episode just wasn't enough to discuss the topic of romantic relationships and money.
In Part 2, Anto and the girls discuss their opinions on splitting the bill in a relationship, how to go about borrowing and lending money when dating and Anto also shares his financial red flags that he looks out for before getting into a relationship.
He also emphasised the importance of young people being able to invest and join sacco's NOW regardless of how much or little money you think you have.
And in typical Tume$ota fashion, Anto closes the podcast out with a challenge!
Basically, there is so much wisdom being dropped FREE OF CHARGE that it would be your loss if you don't press play.

Valentine's Day is long-gone but as promised, the girls finally tackle the topic of romantic relationships and money. They are joined by their first male guest of the season none other than Mr. Anto Neosoul.
Finances are not only a popular friendship killer but a huge relationship killer too so the girls couldn't let the month of love end without addressing this problem.
Anto, is a big ball of energy and opinions so it goes without saying that there was not a single dull moment during the recording of episode. In fact, so much was discussed that this is only PART 1.
Part 1 is loaded - you'll get to hear Anto jam about his Subaru and his experience with car mechanics in Nairobi, he also breaks down his financial superpower of making money as well as his toxic trait of being shopaholic.
And of course, though he's admittedly single he reminisces with Amira, Abby and Pauline about a time in his life when he was dating and lets them in on the financial mistakes he made, what he wished he'd done differently, what he will do differently going forward and also shares some words of wisdom to the younger generation dating out there.
One thing's for sure, whether you're single, dating, married or in a situationship there's something in this episode for you to learn. There are no excuses, you can stop being a financial fool in love TODAY if you so wish.
Don't go anywhere, part 2 is on it's way to you sooner than you think.

Hosted by Abigael - The Disobedient Budgeter, Pauline - The Indecisive Saver and Amira - The Impulsive Spender.
With Valentine's Day round the corner, it's safe to say that this is a week all about love and relationships.
And in this episode, the girls tackle how money affects friendships. (They will get round to discussing romantic relationships soon enough!)
Finances are a popular friendship killer and the girls don't hold back when it comes to sharing their experiences with money and friends.
They begin by discussing the Trust Equation and why it can be difficult to be vulnerable with friends about money.
As the episode progresses, they trade stories of disputes and money-lending experiences gone wrong. They also discuss how to avoid such encounters in 2021.
In typical Tume$ota fashion, they have a challenge at the end but for the first time ever the whole episode was really a challenge in itself.
So, don't skip through you might miss a gem.
Sit back, press play, learn and enjoy the drama of it all!
PS: No hard feelings, every experience was a lesson.

Hosted by Abigael - The Disobedient Budgeter, Pauline - The Indecisive Saver and Amira - The Impulsive Spender.
Happy New Year!!
In this first episode of 2021, the girls tackle the very boring subject of budgeting because whether they like it or not, it must be done!
It's an annoying subject but doing it together and talking about it eases the burden and that's exactly what the girls do in Episode 3.
You will get to hear them discuss their financial goals, break down what budgeting is, demonstrate how to budget and in typical Tume$ota fashion they wrap it up with a challenge.
But before they get to the dreaded topic of budgeting; Pauline, Amira and Abby also recap their holiday adventures, the podcast launch and of course they tell us why they're mad in the TumeJam segment.
So hit that play button and tune into the most fun and longest episode so far!
You're in for lots of laughs and shade throwing.
