In this episode we discuss what we have been working on since our dissertation defense. As we work to finalize edits we also are leaning into the realization that we are going to be celebrating our graduation in a couple of weeks! Our excitement in the month of March called for rest in April, but we are making sure all the items on our sacred timeline are being fulfilled.

In this episode we defend our research work and process in our Dissertation Defense. This was the first in person defense since 2020 and the very FIRST collaborative dissertation at Appalachian State University!!! We were so very excited to share our process and research with our committee and answer questions they had about our decisions during our data collection and throughout our writing. In the final minutes you will hear us officially become Dr. Kimberly Nava Eggett and Dr. Rebecca Burry. We still have some remaining edits to complete, however, it was a great feeling to share our work and celebrate our great accomplishment!

This is the most exciting episode for us! While attending NCTIES (North Carolina Technology in Education Society) Conference, we made plans to meet in person after our last 4 years of working together. The episode starts with Kimberly walking up to the restaurant and sharing the feelings (and nerves) of being able to see each other in person for the first time. We conclude with discussing our current progress and our next steps going forward as we conclude our dissertation work.
