San Bernardino City Unified School District

Listen to classroom teachers as they discuss a wide -range of issues affecting K-12 classroom teaching practices as they positively impact the lives of their learners. The Demonstration Teacher program started in 2014 as a way to increase professional development and at the same time keep the district's best teachers in their classrooms. As well as opening classrooms for observations, producing videos, presenting workshops, working with student teachers, and onboarding newly hired teachers the Demonstration Teachers are now offering their podcasts to teachers everywhere.

Chris Petriccione teaches STEM Pathways at Curtis Middle School in San Bernardino. He discusses the successful STEM Career Pathway at San Bernardino City Unified School District that is nationally recognized as one of the few pathways that spans from K-12 in the country. He discusses the importance of highly engaging projects within a STEM pathway and how this leads to a successful program in terms of enrollment, classroom management, and gender equity.

Sarah Holm teaches Moderate-Severe special education students at San Bernardino High School.  She helped write the school district's Basics3 Curriculum and describes the frameworks involved with teaching special education students within the San Bernardino City Unified School District. Preparing her special education students for life beyond high school is her passion as she prepares them for this transition.

Connie Jones is a middle school ELA teacher at Cesar Chavez Middle School in San Bernardino, CA. Jackie Lacey is an Environmental Education Resource teacher at Kimbark Elementary School. Every student at Kimbark from TK-5th grade has the opportunity to learn with Ms. Lacey every week.
