My name is Dmitry Markelov (@dmitrymakelove) and this is Faucets Of Reality, a show in which we explore, learn about, and grow our understanding of what it is to be human at this time on Earth.
Ever since I can remember, and it feels like forever, I have been fascinated with what all this is — being, life, and the nature of reality in general; it is now my hope to traverse these different facets and expand consciousness together, with you.
I believe each one of us is a faucet (channel) of water (wisdom) that only needs to be tapped (opened). Here, on this podcast, I will be attempting just that -- the first faucet being me, of course!

Welcome back! Today I take on the topic of Capitalism, something that has taken up a lot of my thought throughout my life and especially lately. Many will tell you we are in late-stage capitalism now and I would have to agree. Capitalism has created an opportunity for us to now go beyond it. We still have a ways to go but we are making great headway, for example with the internet and A.I. If the topic of alternatives to capitalism interests you definitely check out "Sacred Economics: Money, Gift, and Society in the Age of Transition" by Charles Eisenstein. I recommend this book for it's thought provoking exposition of where we are, where we have been and where we are going . I agree with him that the "Gift Economy" as he terms it is the original as well as the future economy. I wholeheartedly believe we are headed towards a better world that is hard to even imagine right now. It will have more freedom than we have ever experienced and the artists of the world will not be starving anymore. We will be connected to our own unique gifts and the whole planet will prosper. After a two week long hiatus I am back and talking all about shamans on this new episode.
Terence McKenna is a huge inspiration to me so I quote him in the beginning following a discussion of what shamans are throughout history and how it relates to our modern world.
