The TrHoops podcast (Tobacco Road Hoops) with host Jeremy Shaheen brings you the Duke/Carolina basketball content you need. Jeremy will be watching every basketball game for each of these storied programs, breaking down strategy of the Duke/Unc teams, providing insight to other games and storylines to watch in college hoops. Jeremy grew up in Chapel Hill, and played basketball at Guilford College.
This week, Jeremy recaps the first and second round games of the NCAA Tournament, and spend some time breaking down Unc/Baylor and Duke/Michigan State. We look ahead to the next matchups for each team, and talk about what those matchups will look like. Jeremy also gives his "hot take" for the rest off the tournament, and names his top three point guards he'd like to have on his team with the remaining teams left.
The time is now... this week we talk about the upcoming matchup for Duke/UNC. All teams are now 0-0. Jeremy talks about what characteristics wins games in March. He also talks about the UNC matchup with Marquette, as well as Dukes with Cal State Fullerton. The potential matchups in the 2nd round, and Jeremy gives his Final 4 picks.
This week we talk about the Duke and UNC rematch, where Carolina came into Durham on Coach K's last game in Cameron Indoor Stadium and won. It We also cover the handshake after the game, how Coach K and Roy Williams retired, ACC and NCAA Awards, and more leading up to the ACC Tournament
In this episode we start with talking about the UNC win over Louisville, and the Duke win at Virginia. Both Duke and UNC play Syracuse in the next few days, so Jeremy talks about this current Syracuse team , the 2-3 zone they play, and how to best beat this team. Lastly, Jeremy gives his top 5 coaches of the 2021-2022 seasons and the impacts they've had on his team. (Hint: One of the coaches has a former Tarheel coach as an assistant)
In this episode, Jeremy goes over the situation that has been in the headlines recently with Ian O'Connor's new book, The Rise and Reign of Mike Krzyzewski. Ian states that Duke had chosen a new head coach, before Coach K intervened. Jeremy also talk's about this past week's matchups for UNC/Duke. Lastly, Jeremy gives his Top 3 Unc/Duke Point Guards in the last 20 years.
This weeks episode starts off by talking about the highly anticipated matchup with Duke/UNC for Coach K's last game at the Dean Dome, and what shocked me at the start of the game. We talk about Unc and Duke's other matchups and how each team bounced back from the rivalry game. As well as the strategies by Hubert Davis and Coach K on the final plays in there respective games. Also, I give my thoughts on Cameron Indoor Stadium, and how I think it has lost some of its magic the last few years.

In this episode, Jeremy dives into each schools current situation as far as who is at the helm. There is a changing of the guard on Tobacco Road. Coach K (Retiring end of 2022 season) and Roy Williams (retired after the 2021 season) Now UNC looks to it’s new Head Coach, Hubert Davis. While at Duke, Coach K is in his last season before Jon Scheyer takes over the reigns of the Duke program.
