Hi this is Jaemi Serene and I am your host of Spiritual Feminist Vibes. On this podcast we will explore the pursuit of Joy, Purpose and Peace along your Feminist journey. We will explore ideaologies of what it means to be a Feminist in today's society and my hope is that you will come away with your very own definition that means something personal to you. Spirituality will be discussed in ways of storytelling, poetry, healing modalities and learning about your soul calling and the thread that weaves you into feminist topics. Your tool box will be full just as much as your heart will.
It's the beginning of a new year and you may be looking for a new job. Maybe you recently graduated from college and now hitting the job market. Or, you have worked at your employer for awhile and looking to work in a different industry or work with a different team where you feel valued and respected. Maybe you are ready to stretch your skills and your current boss isn’t recognizing your talents and abilities. All of these are reasons to start looking for a new role and with that, comes salary negotiation. If this is you, you will be pleased to know there is new employment law that impacts transparency of what a job pays. Donna Miller shares her experiences in how she has worked in male dominant environments and how she upheld her values and boundaries within her leadership capacity. Donna Miller is no stranger to leadership roles as she has a background as a healthcare consultant working with leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies as well as her role as Chair of the Board within Planned Parenthood Illinois.
What I love about this conversation with Donna is that she is real and tells it like it is. I truly believe that as a Feminist, it is so important that we can see ourselves in another persons story, and that we are not alone along our journey to leadership and equity. Donna is inspirational in her storytelling about the sexism and microaggressions that she experiences and how she perseveres.
Donna also shares how she tunes into the universe and spirit realm where she receives messages that guide her through her journey both personally and professionally. I felt so relieved hearing her ideologies about spirituality and that I’m not the only spiritual junky in the room.
