Plus, at the end of our convo, Roxsan prays over YOU, the listener. Let that wash over you today.

Questions for reflection:

  1. Which moment of the Passion do you feel was hardest for Mary to witness or for Jesus to endure?

  2. Thinking of the crosses you carry in your life, do you complain more than you unite your sufferings with Jesus and Mary?

  3. Only St. John and the Holy Women stood at the foot of the Cross. How can you "stand" for someone in your life? Do you need to forgive someone? Can you help a friend in need? Can you sit and listen to someone who is in mourning? Smile at your spouse when you don't feel like it?

Love Letter from the Father

“My beloved one (Sg 2)… Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you (Jer 1). I drew you with human cords, with bands of love; I fostered you like one who raises an infant to his cheeks (Hos 11). Yes… You are my beloved child, and in you I am well pleased (Mk 1). I have chosen you and not cast you away (Is 41). You shall be called ‘my delight’… for the Lord delights in you… and As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you (Is 62).

For though the mountains may fall away and the hills be shaken, my love shall never fall away from you (Is 54). I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you (Jer 31). Do you not perceive it (Is 43)? For I know well the plans I have in mind for you… plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, I will listen to you… When you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me (Jer 29). For I am with you, I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you (Is 41). I will fight for you (Ex 14). And I will not withdraw my merciful love from you (Ps 89).

And so… my daughter… Let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely. (Sg 2) Behold, I am with you always (Mt 28). Do not be afraid… I have called you by name, and you are mine. You are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you (Is 43).”

Liz talks with Jane Stoudt, creator of the Mary & Martha Method, about making room for Jesus in our domestic churches by decluttering and curating our homes.

Jane embraced her gift of organization at a young age and over the years developed a deep love of the connection of the domestic church and relationship with Jesus. Like most women, she found herself burdened like Martha with a home full of work to be done and a heart like Mary that desired to sit at the feet of Jesus and rest in His presence. Leaning into the Holy Spirit, Jane learned how to assess her home and its contents, loosen its grip on her time, triage the remaining items she had and assign them a space with purpose which ultimately reconciled her to a peace within her home that has remained since. It is this process that ignited the idea for the Mary & Martha Method and it is her great honor to share it with you!
