[00:01:40] Mitch shares his journey of chasing financial freedom and career success while neglecting relationships and experiencing loneliness.
[00:10:34] Social media is a double-edged sword that can connect us but also cause psychological damage, such as constantly comparing ourselves to others. It can be damaging if not used the right way, and it's important to talk about it to let people know they are not alone.
[00:15:52] Journey of self-discovery and finding core values leads to prioritizing meaningful relationships and integrating them into personal and professional life. Emphasis on surrounding oneself with supportive people and having the courage to act on self-discovery.
[00:26:03] Having core values is necessary when setting goals to have direction and prioritize things. To find core values, reflect on themes in your life and connect them to words that resonate with you. Break goals down into manageable chunks and refer back to core values when making decisions. Iterate and adjust as necessary, building trust in yourself for planning the future.
[00:38:33] Self-improvement involves shedding layers of negativity and rediscovering one's core values through curiosity and effort. It's not about learning new things but rather about unlearning and adjusting goals.
[00:41:38] Unlearning defense mechanisms and limiting beliefs is scary but necessary for personal growth and breaking free from self-imposed limitations.
[00:43:55] Humans are wired to seek approval and comfort, but growth comes from stepping out of the comfort zone and encountering challenges. This is necessary for physical and mental growth.
[00:47:33] Growing is necessary for longevity and cognitive and physical health. Everyone is born perfect, but there is no in-between for growth: either grow or decline. Those who keep their brains and bodies challenged live longer and have a happier life.
[00:51:13] Society imposes unrealistic expectations, making people disown their own reality. Striving to be one's true self can be scary but powerful.
[00:02:37] Pursuing health and wellness with family to create a meaningful life.
[00:08:41] Discomfort is a path to growth; reframe it to build confidence and use triggers as gifts to learn from.
[00:14:21] Model emotional management and communication for children to teach important life lessons.
[00:18:04] Allow a range of emotions, recognize cues and flow in and out, don't hold onto them.
[00:21:52] Happiness is linked to being present and allowing emotions to come fully into consciousness, even if they are uncomfortable.
[00:26:41] Explore emotions to become more comfortable with them.
[00:30:19] Intelligence of the heart, gut, fascia; body can give clues to emotions and mental state; integrated mind can access information of heart; ultimate human experience to use whole self for powerful things.
[00:36:55] Play with kids for exercise and connection.
[00:42:08] Finding answers within yourself requires quieting the mind and listening to intuition.
[00:48:53] Breath controls our mental and physical patterns and can be used to down regulate and elevate nearly instantaneously.
