The Bible is clear that Christians walk by faith and not by sight. Who is it then that walks by sight? And how is it that most of the professing Church seems to be "sight-walkers"? Idolatry is prevalent in the modern professing church, and where there is idolatry there is inevitably people walking by sight, trusting in their own carnal understanding and acting according to their natural surroundings and not upon the dictates of Scripture.
Why are there so many Christians and so little holiness? Why do so many people profess to follow Jesus while the moral fiber of the culture continues to decay? Does the overwhelming majority truly love Jesus, the Son of God? If the Lamb of God were to make an appearance in America today, would he be universally accepted? It is the responsibility of the next generation to pick up the sword and continue in the fight. If the young people in the church are lax in their calling, the church will continue to degenerate until it becomes only the form and function of dead religion.
