In today's episode, Lauren chat's with Emily Groden. Emily attended Yale for undergrad and Harvard for law school. At age 10 she had her mind set on becoming a corporate lawyer and so she did. Then, when she found herself in her first-year at a law firm, she realized that she was not as passionate about working in law as her colleagues. Emily had always had a passion for food but never thought of it as something she could turn into a career. Emily's journey working in corporate law to becoming the CEO and Founder of Evergreen Waffles comes with many twists and turns. Before founding her now company she found herself working for the famous Chicago Aliena restaurant group after watching a Food Network episode and sending the CEO a cold email.
Emily is an example of the fact that you do not have to stick to the major or career path you choose in college. She shows us that it is okay to change your mind and follow your passion and that you can even find a creative way to merge your passion with your career.
