What a great Homecoming Week! We look back at last week's events and celebrate our all-region choir scholars.
Our Wildly Important Goal is off to a great start and there is excitement about it across the district! We also had a couple more big wins by our Indian tennis and football teams!
What a fun week we had with Meet the Indians Night and the Johnson Country Reunion Parade! It's been a great start to the year!
What a great start to the school year! We discuss first week happenings, including the Board meeting, the upcoming Meet the Indians Night and Wednesday's Old Settler's Parade.
The first day of school has finally come and gone and what a great start to the year it was! We have a lot of scholar accolades to celebrate as well, like the Theatre Troupe being honors at Texas Thespians Troupe Day!
School is right around the corner! We had a fantastic Meet the Teacher Night and its the final stretch before scholars arrive!
We're excited to welcome our new educators this week and we discuss the upcoming Back to School Bash!
We are ready to kick off the new school year! There have been administrative changes over the summer, and we discuss the continued success of our athletic and band programs during the summer.

There was a lot to celebrate over the weekend, including the Golden Warrior Band advancing to the state competition for the third year in a row! We also talk about the fall festivals happening around Alvarado and what the JROTC has been to!
There is a lot to appreciate, especially in the month of October! We discuss last week's Hispanic Heritage Celebration along with the Golden Warrior Band gearing up for another run at the state marching competition!
On this week's podcast we wrap up Homecoming with highlights from the week, discuss the early release on Friday and what the AISD school board members will be doing this week at their conference.
Homecoming Week is here! We talk about all the Homecoming activities as well as Hispanic Heritage Month and the new AIS running club!
This week we discuss security and the addition of a new reserve police officer as well as give bond construction updates.
Special guest Chris Magee joins the podcast to talk about his new role as Director of Institutional Advancement and his work in cultivating community relationships. We also talk about the Wildly Important Goal and discuss how the Indians performed on the courts and fields of competition last week.
Now that school is underway we look at the record-breaking enrollment and attendance numbers, along with a reminder to stay healthy - both physically and mentally. We also discuss the Old Settlers Parade and the rest of this week's busy schedule!

We are excited to talk about the new leaders we have in administrative roles across Alvarado ISD and we also discuss the School Board beginning a strategic planning process that will include community input.
The #AlvaradoExcellence podcast is back for a fourth year! We discuss the end of the year activities and things our scholars have been up to over the summer. We also look ahead to 2023-2024 and beginning of the year events like Back to School Bash and Meet the Teacher.
A lot to celebrate last week with Floriculture advancing to state, choir UIL and Indoor Drumline claiming an NTCA championship!
It's been a few weeks so there is a lot of #AlvaradoExcellence to catch up on, including junior high robotics, multiple fine arts activities, athletics and a new website!
This week is National School Social Worker Week and we have the best group in the state who serve each of our campuses! We also discuss our One Act Play advancing and last weekend's North Texas Teen Book Festival was attended by 20 scholars from across AISD.
It was a busy start to the week with Indian Friend Reading Day at Lillian, STEAM Day at Region 11 and former athletic director Jeff Dixon receiving a leadership award from the Texas High School Coaches Association! We also discuss all-district basketball honors and regional qualifiers for girls powerlifting.
We had another great week full of VASE state qualifier, signing day for our scholar athletes and School Resource Officer Day! We also celebrate a fantastic week of athletic success! #AlvaradoExcellence
We started February by celebrating National School Counseling Week last week and this week starts with the 100th Day of School! Along with our All-State band scholars, we had educators at the TMEA conference presenting on the inclusion of our special education scholars into our fine arts programs!
Closing school doesn't necessarily mean having to make up days at the end of the school year! Also, great accomplishments from scholars in colorguard, JROTC and debate highlight this week's podcast!
We continue to honor our School Board during School Board Recognition Month! This week's Board meeting included presentations about the district's fantastic annual audit and plans for what will be happening at Lillian Elementary as it prepares to house PreK-5th graders beginning in fall 2024.
We wrap up the first semester with a few of the highlights from the fall and give an update on the bond projects that were passed in May!
We celebrate our fine arts department and the holiday programs they have been putting on, along with a new School Board member, educators continuing their education as they graduate with advanced degrees and a new residency program for education majors at Tarleton State University.
It was a busy start to a busy month with everything from fine arts to athletics to parades and academics!
Our fine arts department continues to shine with theater scholars advancing to the International Thespian Festival and the junior high band placing 45 scholars in the all-region band! The holidays are a time of giving and our campuses have certainly helped with canned food and monetary donations to local charities like Helping Hands and Santa's Helpers.

It's Homecoming Week! We discuss all of the week's Homecoming festivities, along with the Rachel's Challenge program for 5th-8th graders. We also talk about the city of Alvarado hosting a National Night Out next week and we look at what is on this week's packed schedule of events.
What a great week to be an Alvarado Indian! Organizational health is a focus this school year and we also talk about the educators who were recognized before lat week's Board meeting! It's crazy busy week on the schedule as there is something happening every night this week.
The weekend got off to a great start as we celebrated our educators at Friday's football game and then Monday started with a Patriot Day ceremony! We also talk about the start of Hispanic Heritage Month later this week and an update on the #AlvaradoExcellence things happening on the athletic courts and fields.
