On this episode I share how the Serenity Prayer and an old punk rock anthem can help you gain much-needed perspective when things suck at work.
The Serenity Prayer is a prayer attributed to the American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr (1892–1971) in 1943.
The Clash is the band that performs Should I Stay or Should I Go? Check the song out at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMaE6toi4mk.

Tracy Baldwin is an entrepreneur and an award-winning integrated marketing expert with more than twenty-five years of experience working for some of the world’s best-known brands. Her first book, Life Disrupted: Finding Your Way Forward When the World is Upside Down was published in Fall 2022, where she shares her story about how she built back better after experiencing burnout and a breakdown.
Tracy was part of the “Great Awakening” that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. After a life-changing experience in 2021, she re-evaluated and recalibrated her life to live more authentically. She hopes to help other high-achieving women who strive to do it all by sharing her journey. She aims to provide a space for open and honest conversations about mental health struggles, especially anxiety and depression, in the workplace and beyond. Finally, she hopes these conversations lead to the next generation of women having the support and the acceptance they need to succeed. She wants women to know that it’s okay, and even preferable, to be “perfectly imperfect.”
In 2011, she founded her marketing consultancy Flow Marketing Communications, Inc. In 2022, she launched the online platform and community WeeHumans for parents around the world to share advice and ideas about child-rearing. WeeHumans is rooted in the belief that people from different countries and cultures have more in common than differences, as we all start out from the same place--as little humans.
Tracy has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing from Northwestern University. She lives with her two teens and a tween, her husband, and their Airedale Terrier “Lulu” in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago. As an Executive Coach, I've noted that when many high-achievers are faced with challenges they will double down on whatever they have done habitually to achieve their current level of success. This works very well until... it doesn't... but that doesn't mean that they ease off and step back to try to figure out what to do differently. In fact, their confidence will often take a hit because they thought they had a "formula" for success and are disappointed (in themselves) that they aren't achieving in the way that they had previously.
In today's episode, I'll share insights around the addiction that most high-achievers suffer from, at least until they understand it and consciously free themselves from its grip. I share exercises on how anyone can learn to trust themselves more and find the path to success, and also happiness.

I call it a Gremlin. It's that little voice in your head that provides ongoing commentary on everything you do.... criticizing, second-guessing, catastrophizing, and over all just holding you back from doing things that could be fun and make you more successful and satisfied.
In this episode, I'll provide tips on distinguishing your gremlin from your authentic inner wisdom, and how you can make friends with it in order harness it without exhausting yourself or feeling demoralized in the meantime.

He lives with his wife and seven-year-old boy/girl twins in Sonoma, CA. He can often be found enjoying time with his family, in the middle of telling a really good story or making delicious meals (that his kids will surely not eat).
Jay has spoken at Amazon, he’s been the keynote presenter for various tech companies, and served as the emcee for numerous non-profit fundraising events. His podcasts have over 60,000 downloads and over 1,000 five-star reviews; Jay’s podcast was chosen as an “Editor’s Pick” by Podcast Magazine, and he was selected as a podcast Icon of Influence by the New Media Summit.

This is the 2nd episode in a series on the topic of workplace bullying that I'm partnering on with Lisa Edmondson and our guests are Deb Falzoi, Kalyani Pardashi, and Joangel Concepcion.
On this episode we'll learn where the law protects employees from workplace bullying and, surprisingly, where it doesn't. We'll also look at what you can do if you are the victim of a toxic boss or workplace bully.
Here are the guest biographies:
Joangel Conception: Joangel is the founder of Trael, a mobile app that helps keep track of unwelcome behavior, uncomfortable situations, and overall wellness in a secure, private place. Her experience as a toxic workplace survivor led her to create the tool, which focuses on empowering employees to make positive changes in their lives. Joangel is also a former journalist and a published author. Her experience, on and off-air gives Joangel the knowledge and expertise to motivate any individual, organization, or business to make positive changes in the workplace. She is committed to combining her media skills and passion for workplace fairness -- to help put an end to bullying, harassment, discrimination, and racism worldwide.

Lynne Klippel is a ghostwriter and publisher, most often found behind her computer. However, when she's not working, you'll find her in bookstores, traveling, or reading a great book. She's worked as a publisher and ghostwriter since 2002, publishing more than 400 books for happy writers and ghostwriting 45 non-fiction books for smart people with valuable legacies.
Lynne started to read before she could speak in sentences. Her love of adventure brought her to a dirt road high in the mountains of Ecuador, where she's lived and worked since 2012. Sometimes llamas visit her. Lynne describes herself as a classic nerd who loves learning, ideas, and creating. Her superpower is listening for what makes each person magical. Her many years in theatre have given her powerful tools for ghostwriting, especially when it comes to creating a unique writing voice for her clients.
Lynne grew up on a farm in Minnesota with old-school values -- work hard, be kind, tell the truth, and help others. School was easy for her and she went up through the PhD level, until she realized she'd rather write books instead of a dissertation. She's proud mom of three sons.

THE 5 VOICES
Here's the big idea... Everyone has a leadership voice, whether they know it or not. From the most quiet to the most gregarious, we all have the ability to lead others.
The problem is... Most people don’t know their leadership voice or how to use it. Some don’t know what it is, others are insecure in their voice and have been told it is unimportant, and others immaturely overuse their voice and dominate the airwaves.
Welcome to the 5 Voices... The 5 Voices is designed to help every individual discover their leadership voice and be empowered to use it effectively.
We believe teams and whole organizations can be transformed when everyone operates securely in their own voice and learns to value the voices of others.
