Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast: Recent Episodes

Greg Sheldon

Welcome to the Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast. We're here to show the world how valuable the manufacturing, metal, and steel industries are. Without this industry, society wouldn't be where we are today; it makes our daily lives possible. We are the forgotten industry and highly undervalued in today's market, collective, and zeitgeist. It's time to change that. Most importantly, to give a platform and pay it forward to the undiscovered leaders, experts, and change-makers who bring purpose, new thought, innovation, and new mindsets not shared enough within trades. I'm Greg Sheldon, 21 years strong in the metal, steel, and manufacturing industry, whether hands-on tools, fabrication, welding & wrenching to design, installation, finishing work or sales, strategy, vision, and leadership. I'm here to ditch the small talk and reignite the excitement for manufacturing and trade in North America.

The Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast recently featured John Armstrong, the founder of Reibus. With nearly 20 years of experience in the metals industry, Armstrong understands the global impact of steel and aluminum products on people's daily lives and their economic significance.

Check out Reibus https://reibus.com/
Connect with John on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-b-armstrong/
Watch the episode https://youtu.be/8OQr0eUmIJw

Armstrong admits that explaining the metals industry to those who are not in it can be challenging because steel and aluminum products are so ingrained in daily life that people often take them for granted. However, he believes that by pointing out these products in people's surroundings and asking about their daily routines, it is possible to help others understand the industry's impact.

Armstrong's company, Reibus, aims to digitize and modernize the supply chain to make it more efficient. He believes that steel and other metals are essential to modern life, from constructing buildings and bridges to producing golf clubs and smartphones. Armstrong is excited about the future of the metals industry, particularly as people become more aware of the negative impact of plastics on the environment, leading to a shift towards using more steel and aluminum in environmentally-friendly products.

Reibus's approach focuses on creating flexibility, liquidity, transparency, and visibility in the market to manage uncontrollable variability rather than providing fixed forecasting solutions. Armstrong believes this approach is more effective, as predicting the future is almost impossible in the constantly changing business world.

One of the challenges of running Reibus is saying no to opportunities. Armstrong believes there are endless opportunities to improve the metals industry, but the company cannot pursue them all. The team must pick their challenges and investments wisely to stay on track. Armstrong emphasizes that persistence and grit are essential for business success, as nothing worth doing is easy.

Armstrong teaches his kids and leadership team the word "maybe" based on a Chinese proverb that highlights the idea that you don't know if something is good or bad when it happens, and it's important to react calmly and roll with the punches. He emphasizes the importance of setting expectations early on, learning from naysayers without necessarily acting on their feedback, and understanding that timing is crucial.

In conclusion, the metals industry is essential to our daily lives and the global economy, and companies like Reibus are working to make it more efficient and environmentally friendly. By embracing flexibility, transparency, and persistence, businehttps://linktr.ee/gregwsheldon

How to Read Company Financials Part Three - Understanding the Cash Flow Statements with Stacey Bennett.

Connect with Stacey https://theslcgroup.co/

Watch the episode: https://youtu.be/0x898NQKEx0

Thank you, Stacey, for your invaluable contribution to enlightening us about accounting, business profitability, and taxation. Your insights have enriched our understanding of these complex subjects, empowering business owners and professionals. Your dedication to educating and sharing your expertise is commendable and appreciated. Your readiness to engage further in a Q&A session underscores your commitment to your profession. We sincerely thank you and look forward to continued opportunities with you.

The Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast recently featured an episode that delved into the financial statements of businesses, specifically the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows. Stacey Bennett and Greg Sheldon discussed the importance of these statements in understanding a business's financial health.

The income statement reflects a business's income from sales and operating activities. On the other hand, the balance sheet shows the balances of all asset and liability accounts and any movement in and out of those accounts. The statement of cash flows summarizes both the income statement and balance sheet, and it shows the net cash flows from operating, financing, and investing activities, as well as the cash and cash equivalents.

One of the most important takeaways from the episode was that the statement of cash flows is crucial in understanding a business's cash health. It breaks down the cash received from sales and factors in paying the owner and debts to arrive at a business's actual amount of money. This is particularly important for making business decisions about spending, investing, and taking distributions.

Cash and cash equivalents are considered liquid assets that a business has on hand, such as cash, bank accounts, and cryptocurrency. Banks use a business's profitability and liquidity to determine whether to loan money. If a company has a ton of debt and very little cash assets, banks are less likely to lend them more money, knowing that, realistically, they cannot afford to pay back what they currently owe.

The statement of cash flows is divided into three sections: operating activities, investing activities, and financing activities. Profit creates taxability and draws from a business hit the changes in the equity section of the statement of cash flows, not the profit section.

Spending all profits on business expenses can prevent a business from creating a chunk of cash flow when things go wrong. This can result in a lack of strong enough liquidity, making a business less likely to take out financ

Unveiling the Transformative Power of Additive Manufacturing: A Deep-Dive into Fused Deposition Modeling and Metal 3D Printing with Industry Expert John Barnes.

Visit the following links to connect with John and his company:
https://www.barnesglobaladvisors.com/
https://www.linkedin.com/in/johnebarnesam/

As a revolutionary technology, additive manufacturing, commonly called 3D printing, has experienced remarkable advancements since the 1990s. As digital workflows improve and process technologies expand, the industry continues to grow at an annual rate of over 20 percent.

Additive manufacturing's applications are broad and varied, from prototyping to creating intricate, avant-garde designs. This innovative process encompasses the entire value-add supply chain, from material input to post-processing steps like thermal treatment, machining, and inspection.

In this transformative field, design thinking requires a shift from traditional subtractive manufacturing to a mindset of adding material as needed. Aspiring professionals can stand out to potential employers through formal training or education in additive manufacturing.

One benefit of additive manufacturing is the capacity to fabricate complex components and perform empirical flow tests, reducing dependence on complex analytical solutions reliant on boundary conditions. This becomes crucial when parts are hard to acquire, or multiple components can be merged into a single unit.

Despite its advantages, the productivity constraints of additive manufacturing limit the widespread adoption of 3D printing. However, it excels in solving problems related to bespoke items, small production runs, and customized components. Industries such as aerospace and defense express keen interest due to their need for hundreds to thousands of parts annually rather than millions.

In generative design, AI and machine learning optimize the design process, though human intervention remains necessary to ensure design functionality. The complexity of modern manufacturing necessitates collaboration and a multidisciplinary team of materials engineers to handle the diverse processes and materials involved.

For those drawn to the additive manufacturing industry, thorough research, education, and networking are essential. Barnes Global Advisors provide valuable training and resources on their website and, in partnership with Purdue University, offers an online additive certificate program.

In conclusion, while additive manufacturing has made significant strides over the past few decades, it still holds vast potential for growth and evolution. Equipped with the proper education and a collaborative spirit, the industry's future innovators can expect a bright future in additi

On•Time Labs is a material testing company that provides services to verify that metal samples meet certain specifications. The company was founded responding to a need for more efficient and accurate testing methods. On•Time Labs serves clients in the western United States, including those in the oil and gas, foundry, and automotive industries.

In a recent episode of the Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast, Joe McBride, a representative from On Time Labs, discussed the company's commitment to providing high-quality testing services. McBride explained that On Time Labs schedules their work at a time below what they quote their customer turn time. This helps keep the company within its projected timeline and allows them to alert the customer immediately if they don't think they will hit their internal due date.

McBride emphasized the importance of accurate and timely testing in industries like oil and gas. He shared an example of a situation where a machine broke down in an oil field in Texas, and the company needed a replacement gear quickly. On•Time Labs provided a qualified replacement gear within 24 hours, ensuring the machine was back up and running as quickly as possible.

On•Time Labs takes its role as a material testing company seriously. The company is accredited and has a highly degreed metallurgist on staff to ensure accuracy and unbiased reporting. They also want to expand their capabilities and potentially pursue Navcap accreditation to test aerospace products for OEM primes.

Despite working with big clients, On Time Labs has not had a dissatisfied customer yet. McBride attributes this to the company's "under promise over deliver mindset." On•Time Labs strives to provide accurate and timely testing services while maintaining a strong company culture. They offer benefits like flex scheduling and paid time off to attract and retain passionate employees.

On•Time Labs can be found online on their website, LinkedIn, and Facebook. They also advertise directly to their customers and sometimes send them water bottles or emails to touch base. Ultimately, McBride and the team at On Time Labs are committed to providing high-quality testing services that help their clients ensure the safety and durability of their products.

How to Read Company Financials Part One - Understanding Profit and Loss Statements with Stacey Bennett

In a recent episode of the Metal Steel Manufacturing Podcast, host Greg Sheldon speaks with Stacey Bennett, an accountant, profit coach, and strategist, about understanding financial statements, specifically the profit and loss statement (P&L).

The P&L tracks taxable income and deductible expenses, making it the financial statement business owners rely on to assess financial performance, determine tax liability, and make informed decisions.

Bennett emphasizes the importance of maximizing legally deductible expenses while maintaining financial health and operating on a sustainable budget. She recommends using the profit-first model to create and run profitable, resilient, fiscally healthy companies. This model differs from the traditional approach in the accounting industry, which aims to minimize taxes by maximizing expenses.

The P&L can be customized to provide different information, such as tracking different revenue streams to determine which are more or less profitable. It can also assess the return on investment (ROI) on advertising and compare current performance to previous periods or budgets.

To avoid costly mistakes, Bennett recommends maintaining consistency and clarity in accounting practices, mainly when categorizing expenses. She also advises against creating too many accounts in the chart of accounts, as it can make it difficult to calculate total deductions and create confusion during tax reporting.

Throughout the episode, Sheldon and Bennett also discuss the importance of seeking out accounting professionals willing to educate and coach their clients rather than just doing the bare minimum of preparing tax returns. As the accounting industry continues innovating with technology, accountants must look for new ways to deliver value to clients. This higher level of consulting, advising, and strategy is becoming more common, so business owners should seek accounting professionals willing to provide that service.

The episode concludes with a reminder that the P&L is a critical financial statement that helps business owners assess financial performance, determine tax liability, and make informed decisions. Business owners can run profitable, resilient, fiscally healthy companies by maximizing legally deductible expenses while maintaining financial health and operating on a sustainable budget. It is essential to consult with an accounting professional to avoid costly mistakes and ensure compliance with accounti

https://www.onirik.com.au

Key Takeaways:

The mining industry is experiencing a shift towards eco-friendly practices due to growing concerns over the environmental impact of traditional mining methods. Innovative technologies and practices, such as bioleaching, in-situ leaching, and water-recycling systems, are emerging to reduce the environmental footprint of mining operations.

Bioleaching is a green technique that employs bacteria to extract valuable metals from ores, eliminating the need for harsh chemicals and energy-intensive processes. It has the potential to recover metals from low-grade ores and waste materials.

In-situ leaching involves dissolving valuable minerals from the ore body in their natural environment, reducing the need for large-scale excavation and the resulting environmental disturbance. This method is especially beneficial for extracting metals from deep underground deposits.

Innovative water-recycling systems can significantly reduce freshwater consumption in mining operations, conserving precious resources and minimizing pollution.

Governments play a critical role in promoting green mining practices by implementing regulations, providing financial incentives, and investing in research and development.

Collaboration between the mining industry, governments, and academic institutions is essential to drive innovation, share knowledge, and ensure the successful implementation of sustainable mining practices.

Although green mining technologies offer promising solutions, they have specific challenges, such as high initial investment costs, scalability, and potential unforeseen environmental impacts.

The mining industry must continuously strive to improve its practices and technologies to minimize environmental impact and meet the increasing demand for sustainable resources.

Raising awareness about the importance of green mining and its potential benefits can help garner public support for adopting these innovative technologies and practices.

The conversation revolves around the importance of technical expertise and curiosity in supply chain management and how these traits can lead to success in the field.

One of the key takeaways from the discussion is the importance of developing technical knowledge in the first five to ten years of one's career. Kirkendall emphasizes the need to grow one's vocabulary and terminology to avoid damaging one's credibility in the industry. She encourages young people to be as technical as possible and understand the processes and products within their organizations.

She cites examples of interns who showed an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to take risks, which she sees as signs of future success. The Importance of Industrial Recycling and Scrap and Innovation in Sustainability with John Sacco

Key takeaways:

  • Industrial recycling is critical in sustainability by processing and recovering materials that would otherwise go to waste.
  • The recycling industry faces significant challenges, including inconsistent regulations and policies, high costs, and a need for more public awareness and understanding.
  • Innovation is necessary for the recycling industry to remain competitive and increase efficiency, profitability, and sustainability.
  • Collaboration between industry, regulators, and policymakers is essential for developing consistent regulations and policies, reducing costs, and increasing the overall effectiveness of the industry.
  • Education and public awareness are crucial for increasing support for the industry and encouraging more people to participate in recycling programs.

John Sacco, the son of an Italian immigrant, has created a video series called "Repurposed," which aims to change the narrative about the recycling industry and show how it is critical to daily life.

After debunking the myth that recycling involves crushing cans, Sacco explained that recycled metals are used in various industries, from cars to military equipment, and can save up to 90% of energy and CO2 emissions compared to virgin materials.

But the environmental benefits of recycling aren't what makes it so entertaining – the sheer absurdity of the regulations had us in stitches.

For example, the Clean Water Act stipulates that PCBs must be below 50 parts per billion, but they're considering changing it to one part per quadrillion.

Sacco quipped, "The technology to filter water to one part per quadrillion does not exist ... if you were to take a blood sample of everybody, spin it, I think you'd probably find one part, two, three parts per quadrillion of PCBs in our blood. It's there."

Then there's the challenge of competing with other countries in the industry, which is difficult because of the US's strict regulations and standards.

Sacco argued that "profits are necessary for innovation, and innovation is necessary for progress," but that "CO2 emissions have no borders, so if other countries are not held to the same standards, the emissions will still affect the US."

Josh Spoores profile - https://www.linkedin.com/in/josh-spoores-commodity-analyst/

Key Highlights:

Josh Spoores, Director of Market Analysis at CRU Group, provides expert insights on the current trends and challenges in the steel industry, covering topics such as supply and demand dynamics, industry regulations, the impact of COVID-19, and environmental concerns.

The steel demand is expected to continue growing in the coming years, with a shift from China to other countries such as Southeast Asia, India, Africa, and the Middle East.

Regulations are a significant factor in the steel industry, particularly in China, where the government has tightened environmental regulations. The regulations have led to a decline in steel supply and a rise in steel prices.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the steel industry, disrupting supply chains and creating market volatility. Josh noted that the pandemic had exposed the vulnerabilities of the supply chain.

Environmental concerns have become a significant issue in the steel industry, with the industry focusing on reducing emissions and adopting more sustainable practices.

The steel industry has faced challenges for decades, and the current global pandemic has only added to the existing issues. However, Josh believes the industry has survived in some cases, attributing this to the resilience and adaptability of the industry, as well as advancements in technology.

The impact of tariffs on the steel industry has been significant, with the focus on China as the main target of the tariffs being misplaced. The industry needs to focus on developing a viable steel-making industry that can support itself rather than relying on tariffs to protect it.

The industry should develop new technologies and practices to support sustainability and reduce emissions. Relationships will continue to be a critical part of the industry, and companies need to find ways to build strong partnerships in the digital age.

How Enventix Green Biofuels and Power Are Revolutionizing Mainstreet and Industrial Business with Monem Alyaser - Getting to Zero Billion: A Conversation with Monem Alyaser on Turning Waste into Wealth

Monem Alyaser - https://www.linkedin.com/in/monemalyaser/
Enventix - https://enventixinc.com/

Monem Alyaser is a multi-talented entrepreneur with a diverse technology and business development background. He has a Ph.D. in materials, process engineering, and metallurgy from the University of British Columbia and executive management training from Stanford School of Business. He has also held numerous leadership roles in the tech industry and is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for climate tech.

Originally from Libya, Monem came to Canada in 1984 on a scholarship to study as part of Libya's atomic energy program. He received a scholarship from the JP. Pecker Foundation Scholarship while in Canada, and worked in university labs during the summers. After completing his undergraduate studies, he applied for master's and Ph.D. programs at several prestigious institutions in Canada and was accepted to all of them with scholarships. Monem then chose to study at UBC, where he became a student of one of the top professors in the world in the field. His mentor, Keith, encouraged him to pursue research that impacted industry processes. As a result, Monem started a company in Canada to improve thermal processes in the pulp and paper industry. Still, it was an uphill battle due to the industry's conservative nature.

Monem's interest in technology and business led him to work with a company that did design and thermal design for Apple and Cisco products. There, he learned about the importance of sales and wanted to know how to sell his products more effectively. Monem was then hired as the executive director of a company, despite being the most junior person in the company. He implemented a CRM system to increase transparency and collaboration among the team, which resulted in the company doubling its revenue in a year.

Later, Monem was hired by a company from Denmark as their VP of Business Development and later asked to do applications engineering. This experience inspired Monem to pursue a career in clean tech. He started looking for zero-billion dollar markets, which have enormous potential but currently have zero value. Monem has worked on many iconic projects, such as the first Google server, Apple IMAX, and the Apple tablet (which later became the iPad). He also worked on a project for a startup called Molecular Delivery, which was subsequentl

Fresh Perspective Episode; Simplifying the 100% to Discover the 5% That Matters with Mike Verret

Mike Verret: https://www.verretandassociates.com/
LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mike-verret-7027211/

Entrepreneurs and business owners, take note: Mike Verret has one of the keys to success in the business world; clarity in your message.

Mike Verret's approach to business is to simplify the 100% of what a company is doing into the 5% that matters to an audience.

With his experience at Hasbro Toys, he learned that a product launch's most crucial part is capturing the audience's attention, relating to their challenge, and providing a solution in a sentence or two.

His process for creating a compelling message involves connecting, relating, and solving the problem, followed by a process explanation and a description of the services offered.
Being unique in the marketplace can bring numerous benefits to a business.

One of the key advantages of offering unique products or services is differentiation.

A company can attract customers and increase brand recognition by standing out from competitors and offering something different.

A unique offering can also give a business a competitive advantage, attracting customers looking for something different that they cannot find elsewhere.

If a company offers a truly unique product or service, it may command higher prices as customers are willing to pay a premium for something one-of-a-kind.

Offering exceptional products or services can also foster strong connections with customers, making them more likely to remain loyal to the business.

Being unique can help build a strong brand reputation, positioning the business as innovative and ahead of the curve, enhancing its importance, and attracting more customers.

Verret believes that the key to success is to show up as first, best, or different and unique to catch the audience's attention.

He explains that businesses need to consider how their audience perceives their value rather than what they offer. Verret suggests using an elevator pitch model to describe a business's value engagingly and intriguingly. He also recommends that companies think in terms of a narrative when communicating with their audience rather than using business jargon.

Businesses should start with the question, "What do you do?" when communicating with their audience.

They should then explain how they help their audience, what they get from the business, how th

Majestic Steel to EOXS - a Conversation with Timothy Quinn on Steel Markets and the Future of the Steel Industry

Connect with Tim Quinn here https://www.linkedin.com/in/timquinnsteel/

Watch the full episode here https://youtu.be/wGwgoxrvCEs

The steel industry has been a major player in the global economy for centuries, and it continues to be an integral part of our lives today.

With the implementation of Section 232 and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the steel industry has been through a lot in recent years.

However, steel industry veterans like Tim Quinn, a legend in the industry, are here to provide insight and guidance on navigating these turbulent times.

In a recent conversation between Greg Sheldon and Tim Quinn, the two discussed the challenges and opportunities for the steel industry.

Quinn shared that the relationship with suppliers should not be taken lightly, and he encourages customers to diversify their supply chain.

He believes the steel industry needs to diversify its workforce regarding age, gender, and race to attract young talent.

Quinn also believes that the steel industry needs to create more awareness of how "kick-ass it is" to attract more people to the industry.

He talked about the importance of being forward-thinking and investing in technology to create a mobile working environment, which he believes is essential for attracting Gen Z.

He further discussed how the steel industry has evolved since the Industrial Revolution and its use in everyday life.

The conversation then shifted to the impact of imports on the steel industry and the implementation of trade cases and Section 232, which have been felt by the industry in 2018 and 2020, respectively.

Quinn believes the US steel industry needs to think more comprehensively about technology to stay competitive rather than relying on QuickBooks and Excel.

He believes that EOXS, an end-to-end software platform designed to be customizable and user-friendly, is an excellent example.

The conversation ended with Quinn thanking Sheldon for his time and suggesting people find him on his LinkedIn page.

He believes his approach to increasing sales involves creating a culture, filling the org chart with the right people, and holding people accountable for their job descriptions.

He believes this is the key to ensuring the US steel industry will continue to thrive.

Material Selection Matters: Navigating the Complex World of Material Selection with Metallurgist Dr. Alvaro Mendoza (AJ)

Material selection is a complex process that requires a deep understanding of engineering and management culture.

Connect with AJ at https://www.mendozametallurgy.com/about

Material scientists and engineers like Alvaro Mendoza must consider various factors when selecting materials for different applications, including alloying, processing steps, heat treatments, and certification processes. In addition, they must also consider the product's market position, the part's expense, and the application's safety implications.

Alloying combines two or more metals to create a new material with unique properties. This process is essential in material selection as it allows engineers to develop materials with specific properties suitable for a particular application. For example, alloying steel with chromium can increase its strength and corrosion resistance, making it an ideal material for use in marine environments.

Processing steps are also an essential consideration in material selection. These steps include forging, casting, and welding and can significantly impact the final product's properties. For example, heat treatment can increase a material's strength and hardness, making it more suitable for high-stress applications.

Safety is also a crucial factor in material selection. Engineers must ensure that the materials they select are safe for use in the intended application. This includes ensuring that the materials are non-toxic and don't pose a risk to people or the environment.

The product's market position and the part's expense must also be considered when making the most informed decision. Engineers must consider the cost of the materials and the potential return on investment. They must also consider the product's market position and how it will compete with similar products.

US-based businesses only; to get up to $26,000 per employee: don't miss out on the extended employee retention tax credit (ERTC) and how to qualify here. https://ertcjourney.com/gsheldon/

When JP moved to Nashville 21 years ago, little did he know that he would soon develop a passion for helping businesses survive a pandemic? JP, a retired military veteran, opened his own business and has since worked hard to ensure that companies can remain afloat during these difficult times.

Recently, JP heard about a woman from a small town outside of Nashville whose restaurant had been forced to close due to the pandemic. He was determined to help her out, so he tracked down her phone number from a football friend and gave her a call. Unfortunately, the news was anything but positive. The foot traffic had been so low that she had already decided to file for bankruptcy.

That's when JP's entrepreneurial spirit kicked into overdrive. He informed her about the extended Employee Retention Credit Program and that she could still qualify for a tax rebate from the IRS even though her restaurant was closed. She couldn't believe it and eventually started to cry when JP told her she could receive up to $47,000.

This program is available to any business in the US that has at least one W-2 employee and has experienced a detriment during 2020 or 2021. Even though only 10% of companies have taken advantage of the program, JP got her desperately needed help. The paperwork required to get the rebate is not complicated, and the maximum allowable refund per employee is $26,000, but the CPAs that JP works with have a minimum of three employees.

Thanks to JP's determination and knowledge, this woman's story is no longer one of despair and bankruptcy but of hope and perseverance. JP is a true example of how a little bit of knowledge and a lot of heart can make a significant impact on the lives of others.

Ronda and her team's mission is to infuse more humanity into the workplace. Why? Everyone wins! Employees are happier, more productive, more creative, and more collaborative. In turn, companies earn more money and reduce turnover.

Rondo believes businesses should strive to understand the behavioral traits and characteristics they seek in specific roles to self-select out people who won't be a good fit. Additionally, they should rally behind their organizational purpose and mission and look for words that resonate with them as individuals to understand their motivation. Money can be a motivator, but it doesn't have to be life-changing or world-changing.

Ronda's program includes a diagnostic to identify the most significant pinch points in an organization, a timeline of when to take corrective action, and an engagement survey based on behavioral neuroscience and workforce productivity. It also prescribes prescriptive actions for the pain points that are the highest priority. In addition, Robinson recommends businesses pay attention to what their employees care about to foster a trusting culture.

Unfortunately, Gallup reported that 66% of the US workforce is disengaged, and 16% are actively disengaged. This costs businesses 18% of a person's salary in lost productivity. Business owners should look at their metri

Hello folks, welcome to the show. Rocky Lalvani, a well-accomplished consultant, comes from Profit First, and profit first is a little bit of a different system on how you structure your finances to bring profit; we discussed that at length.

We talk a lot about financials because you know that’s important to business, as you know. I hope you can pull a lot from this. You can find where he is at the end of the episode or the link below; indeed, reach out to him; you will not be disappointed.

Jon Mason - Learning Welding and Fabrication the Hard Way and Passing It On to Student.

Jon came from learning the welding and fabrication industry the hard way, hands-on from a road crew, which is the most challenging work of the metal trades, especially starting on a grinder for months and months.

Jon has many years of wisdom to share; however, today, we only had an hour or so to scratch the surface; we will have him on again.

Jon is a knowledgeable teacher at the Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin; I recommend connecting with him if you are interested in the welding and fabrication course in Wisconsin.

Thank you very much for your time, Jon.

Warm regards until next time,
Greg Sheldon
