Welcome to the world of rockstars and degens. We're sharing stories and learning from some of the most epic names in the music industry and the burgeoning 3.0 space. Brought to you by Wicked Craniums, you can trust you're in for an authentic blend of what's exciting and what's real.
Brit Buckley is one of the most eclectic and epic managers in the Music Industry. Working her way through the ranks of Live Nation, MGMT, and CAA, she has found her home as a Senior Manager at 5B Artists + Media. Her favorite band in high school, Slipknot, happens to be her biggest client these days and her story shows how passion, effort, and kindness can make your dreams come true. It would be a loss to not mention we consider her the 5th Beatle to our team here at Wicked Craniums. We break down all sorts of fun stories along her path, Brit was kind enough to share parts of her and the industry we don’t see everyday. How many people have worked with Dr. Dre and Slipknot?
Potamus is one of the most lowkey pillars in the 3.0 space. Having helmed the community manager role since the project's inception, he's been pivotal in guiding one of the strongest communities through some wild periods. We get into what's going on with Pixel Vault's recent and huge announcements and if you aren't familiar with PV, they are one of the most fascinating and most complex projects conceivable. Potamus was also my first friend in crypto and this was really special being able to share his story.
Andy is a proven veteran of the live music, 3.0, physical collecting spaces and the newest hire made by Reckless Labs. After working as a product manager for prominent EV companies, he's decided to take the leap from corporate to our small team strutting the lines of live music, lifestyle, and crypto. We break down what his influences and perspectives are and this is a unique deeper dive not only into Andy, but where the team's focus is at. We like to focus on the guests but when you're working with the guest everyday it's hard to not talk shop!
Swickie is one of the smartest people you'll talk to in the 3.0 space. A talented artist in her own right, her art spans multiple mediums. From digital to physical, from merchandise to murals, she harnessed the energy of the 2021 crypto wave to give her the boost her inner artist needed and begin garnering the respect she deserves. Swickie also was around from the beginning of Bored Ape Yacht Club and along with being awarded as one of the "Elite Apes", the work she has done utilizing her ape IP is far beyond most. I can't even begin to cover everything she has done, but most of all I'm lucky to call her a friend. This was a ton of fun to record and dig in on her story, I'm sure you'll enjoy!
Cory is one of the most fascinating people you'll ever talk to and we're lucky enough to be working with him on Wicked Craniums now. Getting into the music industry with his own punk label over 3 decades ago his career has led him to manage iconic artists like Slipknot, Megadeth, and Flogging Molly all while building up his 5B Artists + Media empire. We get into everything from putting on your own festivals, to his secret sauce managing a band like Slipknot for seven albums, to what the future of music and the blockchain looks like.
Josh Ong is one of the most impactful degenerates you will ever meet. With a background as a collector and a publicist, his acumen and galvanizing drive is largely responsible for the community behind Bored Ape Yacht Club and other successful 3.0 brands like The Sandbox. While we wanted to make sure we covered key moments over the past 2 years we also had a blast talking everything from his Mt Rushmore of Shoes to partying on a yacht with 1000 degens and no food.
The team sits down together to break down how we got here and what this podcast is going to be. Wicked Craniums started as an NFT project in June of 2021 and a little over a year later has grown into a lifestyle brand with a focus on music and tech.
We want to share some of the knowledge and incredible relationships we've been building and use this podcast as an excuse to talk in depth with epic people and learn more about the music industry, the 3.0 space and how the two will blend in the end.
