Welcome to another episode! Today Daniel sits down with his friend Larissa to discuss... drum roll... Barbie! (the movie). After seeing the film a handful of times, Daniel and Larissa want to unpack the messaging of the movie from a Christian perspective. Barbie brings up a lot of important cultural issues that resonate with Christians, but does the film offer a biblical solution to these problems? We covered a lot of ground in this episode: modesty, aesthetics, feminism, humanism, patriarchy, and more! You don't want to miss this one.

Note: We recorded this episode with a toddler in the room. We don't apologize for our little kiddo friends, but we did make some more edits than usual to help the recording flow better.

The podcast has a NEW name! I believe that "Live and Learn" best captures the purpose of the show. I want this podcast to be platform where we can have meaningful conversations that push us to be better humans. In this episode, I discuss chapter 3 of Jordan Peterson's book 12 Rules for Life with my wife Schelleen. We dig into a difficult question. "Are there situations in which you shouldn't help someone who is less fortunate than you?" The answer seems obvious, but there's more to consider than you think. If you are the type of person who helps others or leads a team, you need to listen to this one. Teachers, parents, coaches- this one is for you! Daniel and Schelleen continue their journey through Jordan Peterson's book 12 Rules for Life. In this episode, they explore the idea of "order vs chaos"- a theme that transcends culture, religion, and personal identity. Our lives must properly incorporate chaos and order, and every area within our lives is an arena in which these opposing realities must be reckoned with. Too much of one, and life quickly falls apart. We hope you enjoy this thought-provoking conversation! On this episode Daniel and Schelleen discuss the controversial Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization Supreme Court case. Emotions are running high in the wake of this landmark ruling, and yet many people seem to misunderstand the framework of the Supreme Court's decision (regardless of their stance on abortion). Here, we don't discuss abortion as much as we discuss the question of whether the Court correctly interpreted the Constitution. This episode highlights a discussion that few people are having. Enjoy!
