The Let's Get Reel Podcast is film review podcast where four college students take a deep dive into various films and film genres in which they discuss their history in order to develop a better understanding of certain films and their corresponding genre.
On today’s episode we'll be discussing the documentary film genre, specifically focusing on the 1970 documentary “Gimme Shelter” as we bring in Dr. Wyatt Phillips from the film studies department at Texas Tech University to help provide us with a lot more insight on the history of genre along with the various styles of documentary filmmaking.
On this week's episode we'll be discussing the comedy genre, specifically focusing on the 2008 film Step Brothers, as we dive into the history of comedy, give our thoughts on the film itself, along with an overall rating and discuss some of our favorite all time comedies.

In this episode we start off by introducing ourselves and then dive right into the history of the crime genre in cinema. The film we chose to talk about in relation to the crime genre is the all-time classic The Usual Suspects.
