May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
First and foremost talk to someone, ask for help, talk to a professional, your doctor, a counselor, psychiatrist, psychologist, use medication if that’s what you need! Use it. That’s what this month is about. Ending the stigma associated with mental illness.

I encourage each of you to share your own stories and what works for you. Let’s use this platform to spread knowledge and support. If you’re struggling, remember, you’re not alone, and there are many paths forward.
A longer meditation then I usually share but I had such wonderful downloads and thoughts come to me and felt so in peace I wanted to keep sharing with you all!
The concept of "slowing down to speed up," especially relevant for mompreneurs, centers on the idea that taking deliberate breaks, focusing on planning, and prioritizing well-being can actually lead to greater productivity and success in the long run. This approach acknowledges the unique challenges mompreneurs face, balancing business endeavors with family responsibilities. I share the benefits of deliberately slowing down, the myth of multitasking, I break down steps to help you slow down to speed up. This is a meditation I made up and have been doing regularly. This is an active moving meditation with some jumps, Aura Sweeps, and somatic movements that just come naturally to you.
My mornings before everyone in the house is up are my favorite. I work from home in my office at home so I am aware I do have it easier to do all of these and not have to rush to shower to head out the door to an office building.
I think creating a morning routine to help boost our mood can set a positive tone for the entire day.
I share ways to help reduce stress and increase positive emotions and motivation.

Growing up in the 90s, many of us were unwittingly steeped in a toxic diet culture. From ultra-skinny models gracing the covers of magazines to the relentless promotion of fad diets, hello cabbage soup, Atkins, Slim Fast, etc. The message was clear; thinner is better, and self-worth is tied to appearance. Fast forward to today, and we're now navigating a journey towards self-love and improved body image, unlearning the damaging beliefs of our youth and trying to set up our daughters (and sons) for a more positive and loving body image towards oneself.
Here are some of my favorite accounts to follow on Social Media that I talk about in this episode - Allison Marketti, Sadie Nardini, Ashley Turner, Lauren Cadilac ( feelgooddietitian), Same Previte (find.food.freedom), Alex Light (alexlight_Idn), Victoria Browne, Callie Gullickson, Dana Mercer Ricci, Erin from rawbeautytalks, Sarah Nicole Landry (thebirdspapaya), Kylie Kelce (kykelce), Abby Langer (langernutrition) These accounts are very inclusive for everyone and very body positive. In this episode:
Self-Compassion
How to Practice self-compassion.
Speak to yourself with kindness and recognize that self-worth isn't tied to physical appearance.
I use a few affirmations daily. You are worthy, You are kind, You are strong, You are beautifulEven if on some days I am not feeling it or believe it, I always say them. There is scientific research that this can really help rewire our brain and mood.
Also mentioned in this episode daily walking meditations. The ones I do are my own and Cassandra Bodzak.

Integrating chakra balancing into the guided meditation for the total solar eclipse on April 8th can deepen the experience, aligning your energy centers with the transformative energies of the eclipse.
This meditation is designed to help you harness the transformative power of the total solar eclipse, using it as a catalyst for personal growth and the manifestation of your deepest desires. Journaling during a solar eclipse with a focus on chakra balancing offers a unique opportunity to align your inner energies with the cosmic display of balance and transition. Here are several prompts to guide your reflection and writing for each chakra, helping you to harness the energy of the solar eclipse for personal growth and balance:
Root Chakra (Muladhara) - Stability and Security: As the solar eclipse transforms the sky, reflect on the areas of your life where you seek more stability and grounding. How can you cultivate a sense of security within yourself?Nature Connection: The root chakra connects us to the earth. During or after the eclipse, spend time in nature. Write about how this experience helps you feel grounded and connected to the earth.
Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) - Creativity and Pleasure: The play of light and shadow during a solar eclipse is a natural spectacle. How does this inspire your creative energies? Write about a creative project that the eclipse motivates you to start or continue. Joy and Pleasure: Reflect on what brings you joy and pleasure. How can you incorporate more of these elements into your daily life to balance your sacral chakra?
Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) - Power and Self-esteem: The solar eclipse momentarily dims the sun's power. Reflect on a situation where you felt your personal power was diminished. How can you reclaim it?Confidence Boost: Write about achievements that make you proud. How can these boost your confidence and strengthen your solar plexus chakra?
Heart Chakra (Anahata) - Love and Compassion: During the totality of an eclipse, darkness prevails. Reflect on how you can find love and compassion in your own moments of darkness. How can you open your heart more? Forgiveness: Holding grudges can block the heart chakra. Write a letter of forgiveness (you don't have to send it) to someone or yourself. How does it feel to let go?
Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) - Communication and Truth: The eclipse's dramatic expression in the sky mirrors our need for expression. Write about ways you can more authentically express your thoughts and feelings. Listening: Communication is as much about listening as it is about speaking. Reflect on your listening skills. How can you improve them to balance your throat chakra?
Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) - Intuition and Insight: The unique energy of the solar eclipse can heighten intuition. Reflect on any intuitive insights you experience. How can you better trust your intuition? Vision for the Future: The eclipse marks cycles of beginnings and endings. What vision do you have for your future? How can focusing on this vision help balance your third eye chakra?
Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) - Spiritual Connection and Enlightenment: The solar eclipse is a cosmic event that can enhance feelings of spiritual connection. Write about your sense of connection to the universe and how it relates to your spirituality. Mindfulness and Meditation: Reflect on your meditation or mindfulness practice. How does it help you feel connected to your higher self and the universe?

In this solo episode Nikki talks about a morning recently when nothing seemed to go right and made her realize sometimes we can't spiritually bypass or emotionally bypass everything. We need to actually slow down, pause, and feel. We don't always have to meditate our emotions away or practice personal development. Sometimes we get so fixated and start thinking since we have all the tools we need to constantly be growing, learning, and sometimes we just need to feel.
Nikki talks about Ayurvedic Alchemy training she is doing and her teacher and mentor, Victoria Mann who will be on the podcast very soon! She also talks about some podcasts she has listened to recently and those hosts have been doing deep dives on other individuals in the personal development space and spiritual space calling them "grifters".

In today's fast-paced world, where health and wellness have taken center stage, people are increasingly seeking support to improve their lifestyle and overall well-being. One essential figure that has gained prominence in recent years is the health coach.
In this episode Nikki talks about how health coaches are professionals dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey towards better health and wellness and the core responsibilities of a Health Coach.
** A health coach is not a medical practitioner but rather an expert in the field of wellness and behavior change. They work with individuals on a one-on-one or group basis, providing personalized support to help clients identify and achieve their health goals. A health coach takes a holistic approach, considering all aspects of a person's life, including nutrition, physical activity, stress management, sleep, and emotional well-being.

Disordered eating and orthorexia are talked about.Orthorexia is a moral or righteous fixation on consuming “pure” and “clean” foods.Everywhere now a days and especially online with celebrities and social media influencers seem to be talking about a detox or cleanse they are doing. But what actually are they detoxing from and why do they actually need to do a cleanse? This episode sheds light on a new way to look how "clean" eating and living "toxin free" can actually be hurting some people. There is a rise in disordered eating among females aged 35+ and women well into their 40's, 50's, and 60's that never had any issues before. Also in this episode Nikki talks about her own personal experience with following the Medical Medium protocols and jumping on the celery juice bandwagon.Nikki encourages everyone to listen to their own bodies and remember everyone is different. Erica Davis, CEO & Founder of Imperfect Mommers, LLC, a women’s workout apparel and athleisure brand. Erica is a Charleston, SC native who resides in Charlotte, NC. She started Imperfect Mommers in 2018 because she found the need to provide women with great quality workout apparel at affordable prices. Erica had the idea to create an Instagram page to motivate sisterhood within the community of mothers, future mother, and all of the variation of mothers through healthier lifestyles, workouts, and apparel. She wanted women to realize that not all moms snap back immediately after the birth of their children. The word "imperfect" says that not all moms are perfect and are constantly learning through trial and error, and the support of other moms. The word "mommers" is what her son would call her when he was a baby, so it stuck with her. Imperfect Mommers enlightens mothers and future moms on the daily awesomeness and sometimes challenges of being a mom. In addition to apparel, Imperfect Mommers also offer the SnapBack Box. A starter workout kit with resistance bands, booty bands, jump rope and more! Rebecca is a medical intuitive, manifestation coach, and motivational speaker.
ONCE UPON A TIME, Rebecca was someone who didn't know who she was, what she wanted, or even why she was here. Until... Manifesting came along... The majority of her life was spent being a people pleaser and trading approval for authenticity. She always felt like there was something missing. Rebecca said, "I didn't feel worthy of having more and even if I did consider this, feelings of guilt and being ungrateful would immediately wash over me. This kept me 'stuck' for years! I had everything that was supposed to make me happy but I felt so empty and lost inside. It got to the point where I didn't even know who I was anymore...I became obsessed with the process of manifesting. It felt like the missing piece of my life puzzle.
Since then I have manifested, flights in a private jet, over a quarter of a million dollars, VIP backstage tickets, my dream apartment, a Rolex, a mutually loving relationship, my gorgeous dog and knowing who I really am! I never in a million years thought those things were available to 'someone like me'... So young, so unconscious! Then, I finally found my purpose, helping Mamma's fall head over heels in love with their life again."Rebecca is a woman on a manifesting mission. She hopes to be known for bringing a level of sparkle to Mamma's stepping out of their spiritual closet and stepping into the worthy A.F version of themselves!!
On today's episode Nikki and Rebecca talk about:What is manifestingIf you have to be spiritual to manifest.Reasons people don't get what they want when manifestingWhat is intuition and living intuitively meanCan our limiting beliefs make us sick and create health issuesand more.... Welcome to your Spring Equinox guided meditation! The Spring Equinox is a time of renewal, rebirth, and revitalization. Spring is a time of setting new intentions, the time for planting new seeds in your life. Like the New Year, the Spring Equinox is a time of new beginnings. In this guided meditation you'll be invited to harness the manifestation power of your womb space.
Our wombs and lower 3 Chakras are the portals for becoming more grounded, our creativity, and ability to create the visions and goals we dream of. In this meditation connect with your womb, cleanse the space and plant the seeds of intentions that you wish to grow and manifest this spring season.
Here are some journal prompts to use after this meditation.
What are you ready to release and clear away?
What are you grateful for thus far this year?
Name one thing you love about Spring.
Think of one thing that you get to say goodbye to in winter that you are grateful for.
Think of some things in your house you can get rid of. Write what you are grateful for about them and then get rid of them.. Spring Cleaning!
What do you want to plant. Plant your seeds/ intentions/goals/manifestations to plant, water, and grow?

This Kundalini meditation focuses on breath work. This is known to calm you down and increase serotonin so it's perfect for anyone who is dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety.
This is also an introduction to Kundalini meditation. In Kundalini we tune in with the mantra ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO. We say this 3 times. It means I bow to the Creative Wisdom, I bow to the Divine Teacher.
It opens your spiritual channel, assists you to align yourself with the frequency of the Infinite Self and quiet your mind.
Lastly the breathing is a quick, loud, audible, cannon breath out the mouth 8 times in a row with a long inhale through the nose then repeat 8 cannon breaths out the mouth. Cannon breath helps to strengthen your parasympathetic nervous system, it helps with digestion, and to relax and unwind.
*** Disclaimer: This meditation includes breath work that may cause dizziness, nausea, or trembling. If any of these should occur along with lightheadedness, or tingling please stop. Always consult your doctor before starting any exercise or meditation practice. If you are pregnant or have any chronic pain always ask your doctor before starting breath work and exercise programs.

“The key to keeping your balance is knowing when you’ve lost it.”—Anonymous
In this solo episode Nikki will dive deep into work, mom, life balance and can we balance or align being a working mom.
In today's world, many moms work both inside and outside of the home. Achieving a perfect work-life balance would assume that both parts are created equal, 50/50, and that you can divide your time accordingly, but we know as women, moms and humans in general, the last few years have really put a microscope on our lives and forced many of us to face the fact that we feel overwhelmed.
It’s generational and societally passed down that women are supposed to be selfless and tend to the house, the kids, grocery shop, take the kids to their appointments and do "all the things". From an early age, women are taught to be people-pleasing, accommodating, and self-sacrificial. Over time, we can lose our connection to ourselves beneath the weight of our commitments.
Some things you will learn in this episode:
· Recognizing your non-negotiable needs and prioritizing them
· Setting realistic expectations about what you can do and what you can’t
· Regularly checking in with yourself to ensure your choices support your intentions
· Learning from your emotions instead of reacting to them
. Emotional Bypassing
. Defining what balance and alignment mean to you
. Ways to practice self-care
. Ways to delegate
. Tips that break down the boundary-setting journey into simple, actionable habits
. Affirmations for feeling more balanced and aligned
. Journal prompts to consider and ask Yourself Every Day for a More Life Balance
. And more

In 2011, Jen's husband Brent attended a bachelor party for a friend. While walking back to his hotel, he was attacked, robbed, and killed. She instantly became a young widow, left to raise their two year old daughter alone. Overcome with grief and anxiety over the loss, she had to figure out how to heal, how to find relief from the excruciating pain of loss, how to navigate life as a solo mom. She packed 4 suitcases and moved with their daughter Claire to a tiny island in the Caribbean where she knew no one. Today, she can look back on my journey and recognize the methods and useful tools she found to help her heal through grief. Jen truly believes that every widow has the capacity to endure, the power to overcome, and the determination to create a new life with meaning and purpose. Jen has a passion to help other widows see what’s possible for them and see that there can be a beautiful life after loss! That’s how Widow 180: The Podcast came to be. She created the show in 2020 in hopes of spreading hope to people who need to hear it. It’s a show about turning tragedy, loss, and fear into strength, creativity, and a new passion for life. Each week a different widow is interviewed to share her story of loss, how she coped, and how she has taken the lessons she’s learned and used them to transform and grow. Jen's mission through the podcast, her YouTube Channel, blog posts, coaching and speaking is to arm other widows with powerful stories of transformation and knowledge so that they can navigate life after loss. Jen met my now husband, Doug in 2015. 10 months later we got engaged. 10 months later got married. 10 months after that they welcomed their baby girl, Penelope into the world! In this episode Jen shares with us her tools she used and uses to help heal trauma and grief, she shares her self-care practices, and her morning and night routines. Solo episode.
Gratitude is a conscious, positive emotion one can express when feeling thankful for something, whether tangible or intangible.
Gratitude implies much more than showing good manners. It’s a practice that requires acknowledging someone else's gesture towards us or the things that are going well in our lives. It involves both a process of recognition of the positive and its outcome.
Regularly practicing and expressing gratitude has many benefits, both short- and long-term.

Solo episode. Nikki has had so much inflammation in her body she started to get really deep into mediation specifically Kundalini Meditation, started back up on the celery juice trend, and more.
In this episode you will learn how to process through emotions. - Just like our homes we store junk and clutter in our bodies and minds. We need to take time to process through things and not just keep stuffing them down. - Don't wait for the milestone birthday, reunion, getting sick, a wedding, etc to take care of yourself and or set goals - Start to prioritize yourself right now - New book Nikki read. How To be A Happier Parent ( title is deceiving. It's not about you're not happy. ) 2 chapters really stuck out and Nikki touches on those 2 chapters. - Benefits of celery juice - Side effects of celery juice - Sober October - Benefits of taking a month off from alcohol. - Last 90 days of 2022 - Make sure to pour into your cup first. Where do you need to nourish yourself?

Scroll through Instagram and TikTok and we are inundated with fitness influencers, fashion influencers, xyz influencers, wearing barely there clothing, in a seductive pose, most often with beautiful scenery or in beautiful home. For anyone it can get hard always seeing these "perfect" bodies, perfect homes, perfect aesthetics. For females its even harder and for our adolescent girls/tweens/teens its detrimental and extremely harmful.

Welcome to my new segment!
Every Monday I am sharing with you a quick meditation.
You can do the same meditation all week long or mix them up.
This week's meditation focuses on pain management.
Meditation retrains the brain Meditation uses different brain pathways to deal with pain from those used by other pain treatments. Over time, meditation can change your brain structure to better deal with pain.

Setting healthy boundaries with yourself, technology, and the people in your life, work, romantic, friends, kids, social media, etc is a radical act of self care.
Whenever you are feeling resentful or you start to become resentful and angry, you need a boundary and it’s lacking. Whether it’s with family, work, friends, etc.
In this episode I will talk about:
Signs your boundaries may be too weak. Signs your boundaries may be too rigid. What healthy boundaries look like. Ways to set and maintain good boundaries. Maybe this is too wowooo but visualize. Visualize, journal, and meditate on the boundaries you want to enforce and set up, see yourself as strong and assertive saying exactly what you want and how you feel. Start small Be consistent What happens when boundaries are too rigid Examples using my own boundaries for work, for social media, and family, and me time.
Journal it out to see if your boundaries are too weak, too rigid, right where they should be, meditate on it and adjust. This is something that will need a recheck in on throughout our lives too. Sometimes when we are stressed things fall out of alignment and we go back to old ways and patterns so make sure to check in with yourself and take care of yourself.

Speaking to people recently and my teacher friends I have learned some people hate the word " Self-Care" We are now going into our second year of a global pandemic and some people are so burnt out. Today I talk about the negative and downside of self-care. Self-Care is looked at as a privileged female luxury. I have created and practice myself 10-30 minute workouts, 5 minute meditations, and if you have time a quick gratitude journal. We are making it harder for some people that don't have the help to set up an hour morning routine. Also in this episode: 5:00 - Happy people don't talk about self-care they come from a place of giving to others and volunteer work. 6:25 - The Self-Care movement is stressing some people out more. 9:40 - The Wellness Industry is a $4.2 Trillion industry. In the US the Self-Care movement has been glorified as an alternative health care system by privileged women. I don't want it to be this way. In today's episode I talk about how to plan and sequence a yoga class. When I first started my podcast I was teaching 4-5 yoga classes a week, working full time, and taking classes to become a holistic health coach.
I love creating and planning my classes. It really lights me up and fuels my passion for being creative. I thrive on creating things.
I know how to read the room and feel what the students want.

We talk about ways to tap into your creativity, the 5 universal traits, and how Rose gets into the creative flow.
Rose grew up in a family of artists, she felt pressure to be artistically expressive but didn't know how to connect her innate creative strengths with her desired business goals. She began a lifelong journey trying to bridge this gap and faced many challenges in discovering a solid link. After acquiring her master's degree in Business of Arts and Culture, traveling the world for three years, and interviewing hundreds of people in various industries about creativity, she discovered that there were five universal contributing factors that empower our ability to be creative and to utilize it as a skill. She was recently named one of the "Top 20 Female Entrepreneurs to Look For in 2021” and her newest book “The Creativity Gene '' achieved bestseller status on the first day. To the women and moms that haven’t felt right for awhile. I see you and I feel you. Whatever the reason is, I encourage you to set boundaries and prioritize yourself.
The world has been heavy for some time now, whether it’s racial, social, Covid, political, etc. it’s been a lot!
Trying to teach our kids, run our kids to activities, build a business, still work my normal job, maintain a home, do the chores, losing sleep, faking it until you make it, it has become all consuming.
Kids fighting, not listening, they're tired, they're crabby, they're typical kids and did I mention all their activities, and sports!!
Cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, work, laundry, school, life.
It is exhausting!
Self care activities you can do for free to boost your mood and fill your bucket with joy and fun:
My 28 Day Restore + Balance Program is the best way to learn how to prioritize your own health. Learn ways to fuel your body and energize yourself, prioritize self care, mindset, and so much more! I created this program to help not only with meals and nutrition but all the other areas in our lives that can get out of alignment too. I created this program because I know so many, now more than ever need to do something for ourselves and to pamper and show ourselves love.

Ahhhh!!! My one year anniversary of launching my podcast is upon us!
Thank you to all of my listeners. Thank you so much for your support. Thank you to all of my guests! I am so humbled and grateful for each and every one of you, for taking time out of your day to come onto my podcast and record with me!
This episode includes clips from previous episodes of this past year. The clips are from Heather Chauvin, Mike Mcvay, Lisa Vivalo, Eddie Stern, Courtney Young, Gabby Martinez, and Rachel Stallard. I had so much fun creating this episode re listening to all of my episodes. I will be doing more of these with my other guests I have had on. This was so fun to create!
Sit back and enjoy some of my most listen to episodes!
A brief thank you to everyone and a mini talk about the toxic patterns of social media how it has been bringing me down lately. A quick breathing exercise and jumping right in with our first clip from Heather Chauvin.
9:04 Heather Chauvin - As moms we are so conditioned to give, give, give then we project our anger on to the child for everything we do for them. Busy is a symptom it is not a lifestyle. Women/moms needing a break from life. We need to redefine what we want in our lives and fully give ourselves permission.
13:59 Mike McVay - Being self employed and an entrepreneur, be prepared to have a strong work ethic, you have to enjoy your job, read everything you can about how to better yourself, you are your own project.
15:44 Courtney Young - We tolerate way too much in our lives and mental health shouldn't be one of them.
18:14 Rachel Stallard - We don't see what's behind the vail on Instagram. Keep people around who keep you fed, as women and moms we still keep ourselves fed and have our own lives. We are still a person not just a wife and a mom. Rejuvenate and let go of the mom guilt. If our bucket isn't full we can't dump anything into our kids buckets.
22:28 Gabby Martinez - Social media and Instagram content creating. Morning routine is very important to help with creativity.
25:25 Lisa Vivalo - A seed planted to help first responders tailored just for them to provide yoga and tools to help them with PTSD and their stressors they see daily. Creating mindful activities and yoga to help.
29:23 Eddie Stern - Teacher burnout ( this was about Yoga teacher burnout, but I think this discussion is suitable for all teacher burn out and for the most part burnout in itself) Not taking time out to take care of ourselves. We are taking on too much responsibility for other people's stress and anxiety onto ourselves. It is natural as a teacher that we want people to feel better so we take their things onto us. We need to have a steady long term practice that helps our nervous system ( yoga) when we teach we remain ourselves and we know who we are.

In this week’s episode I talk about our basement flooding, the crystals I bought from Good Chi ( www.goodchishop.com) I buy crystals all the time for my kids at the beginning of the school year, this year I did that and also was gifted some other crystals to protect our home from flooding and to help with grounding and protection.
My recent intense craving for sugar had me doing research. I usually only crave ice or raw noodles for the crunch factor.

Solo episode and a two part episode with 2 completely different topics that have been on my mind and I’m dealing with.
Dealing with Imposter syndrome and dealing with the dark side of yoga or the judgmental side.
What is Imposter Syndrome?
Impostor syndrome—the idea that you’ve only succeeded due to luck, and not because of your talent or qualifications—was first identified in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. In their paper, they theorized that women were uniquely affected by impostor syndrome.
I talk about having it and dealing with it and ways to help move past it.
The Dark Side Of Yoga. This is in all areas of the fitness industry I think. I want to first say I have not experienced this in any yoga studios I have taught at, went to, or any teachers in my area. For the most part I think the Cleveland area has a very supportive yoga and fitness community.
I am talking about social media, Facebook groups, and Instagram accounts. Yoga we are taught to have compassion and non-judgment so I have had to take a step back and unfollow a lot of the Facebook Groups I was in.
Yoga has become very popular and I think a lot of teacher, myself included are trying to teach it and bring it to everyone in a way that everyone feels comfortable practicing it. Traditional Yogis do not like this and think it is not real yoga.
I talk about how I teach and practice. I believe in bringing yoga and fitness to everyone and making it all inclusive and I will continue to teach that way.
This world needs more love and compassion and less judgment.
In this episode:
5:40 - If you experience these characteristics you may have Imposter Syndrome.
6:35 - Why someone has Imposter Syndrome
8:02 - Ways to move past Imposter Syndrome
9:13 - Stop comparing yourself to others
12:12 - Why I unfollowed yoga Facebook Groups and what I mean about the Dark Side Of Yoga. There seems to be a lot of judgment in a practice that is supposed to live by non-judgement.
18:00 - Embrace everyone, have compassion for all.

Are we putting too much pressure on our kids and their athletics? With the breaking news last week of Simone Biles withdrawing from the most of the gymnastics events at the Olympics I talk about how much more we know now.
Growing up I was in gymnastics. I remember a banner hanging in the gym that said " If You Rest, You Rust". That has stuck with me all these years later.
If you want to follow along with a writing exercise grab some paper and a pen. I talk about the Wheel of Life used to discover which areas in your life you are missing and how to infuse joy and satisfaction into your life.
Also in this episode:
How to start goals and action steps.
How to create habits and motivation.
Enforcing my boundaries and asking for more help.

In this episode I am joined by my friend Rachel Stallard. Her husband and her bought 35 acres outside of Cleveland. They wanted to raise their children on a property with a pond. One day they decided to restore the chicken coop on the land then it spiraled into other animals, a garden, now it is sustainable for their family and a hobby farm. Rachel takes us through a morning in her life with a full time job and raising her 3 kids. Also in this episode we talk about how we met at a bar in mid/late 20's, became friends, roommates and growth in our friendship and our lives to where we are now. Looking at ways to keep trying new things. Just because we are moms doesn't mean we don't want to give up on things we love and are passionate about. It's important for our kids to see we are trying and failing so they can appreciate things when they get older. Rachel wrote a blog when she turned 40 about what she wanted to tell 20 something year olds. She talks about things we wish we knew when we were younger that it won't matter. You are not in control of your life. Have those people around that feed you and support you. It is so important as women and moms we still nurture ourselves and fill our bucket up.
Rachel is mother, wife, farmer and professional writer, Rachel helps digital marketing clients bring their stories to life. But her real bosses are her three young children and the 40+ animals she and her husband are raising on their hobby farm just outside of Cleveland, Ohio. She also rehabs homes in her community for the rental market. Rachel believes that everyone and everything has a unique story just waiting to be told. We are joined by Jai Kershner again to talk about what we are manifesting, ways to help with the process, and our self care routines.
Nikki tries to help Jai set up a self care morning routine and they dive into #Freebritney and Beniffer 2.0.
We are multi-tasking, working moms as you can hear in this episode Mak, Jai's one year old in the background and a little bit of Nikki's typing as she was editing something for work.
4:16 - Self - Care routines. Jai talks about her idea of what she wants to do. Her facials and playing with Mak as her workout tossing him around.
10:37 - Nikki's self-care routine and her journaling suggestions. She talks about her brain dump journaling at night. Take time and write down your venting what didn't work that day.
12:54 - Manifesting. Nikki and Jai tell the listeners what they are manifesting. Nikki uses Abraham Hicks meditations to help the manifesting process along with gratitude lists, journaling, and essential oils. Manifesting requires intention + action. If you're not taking action it won't work.
21:59 - Pop Culture. #FREEBRITNEY and Beniffer 2.0

Candace's Bio- Growing up as a Cleveland native in a grocery business family, good clean food was always a staple. Then came the standard from my Sicilian grandmother, who was the pillar of all fashion and beauty, I was getting into all of her goods by the age of 5. Vogue magazine was my bible for more learning as a teenager. After graduating from Rocky River HS, I went to University of Cincinnati and then moved on to graduate from Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. I cheffed for many years and then back to the family business in the grocery stores. I was always very athletic. Figure Skated competitively for 10 plus years all while showing Qhorses for almost 25 years(I won many national titles, a world champion title and was on ESPN at 16:) This is where the injuries came into play that haunt me today. Trying to evade surgeries, which were inevitable, I had to seek out all of the holistic ways to feel better. There were times I tried to escape the family business, as I was always drawn to the beauty industry, I then attended Aveda Institute for an Esthetician degree. While I didn't take state boards to get certified I retained all the knowledge. Once my body couldn't take the labor of the food industry, I fell into Pilates all the way. Trained with Troy McCarty through Balanced Body Pilates and it was life changing. This I owe my ability to function today. I took a leap into the skincare industry with Priya Apotheca as the Sales Director a year ago and here we are today. I have a wonderful husband, son and toy fox terrier. Living the dream in Avon Lake!

After vacation and time off from work and your normal daily rituals and routines it can be hard to get back to it. In this episode I give tips for when you have no motivation. Also in this episode I give some journal prompts. Journaling is amazing way to help release stress, set new goals and intentions, improve anxiety, vent, and also helps increase gratitude. Journal prompts mentioned in podcast:
WHAT DOES YOUR FUTURE HOLD? What do you really want to get done in this lifetime? You are free to create whatever you want in this world. The more specific you are, the easier it is to plan. You are not going to show this to anyone, so allow yourself to explore the following questions without any filters.
What do you want to get done by the end of the day tomorrow? What do you want to get done by the end of the week? What do you want to get done by the end of the month? What do you want to get done by the end of next month?
Remember: This is your life. Create your ideal reality!
Journal prompts for July and new month goals: What am I grateful for?
How am I going to show up this month?
How do I want to feel this month?
How do I want to feel this month?
What can I improve on this month?
What are 3 things I need to get done this month?
15:16 - I touch on body positivity. I was scrolling through Facebook and came across Mary Katherine Backstrom post or re-post from Sarah Koppelkam. I am so insanely passionate about this. Things to not say to your daughter or son. I want our kids and ourselves to love our bodies unconditionally. 21:19 - Life is like a trapeze. We have to let go to reach the other bar discussion on life and change.

A brief grounding meditation to start today's episode. My new Holisitic 1:1 Health Coaching Program is now open for enrollment. 6:50 - A brief rundown of my blog I just sent out this week. Tips on how to have a relaxing vacation. 14:28 - Productivity. My morning routine for this summer. Write things down and set your schedule for the day. 16:54 Body Positivity. Recently we went to Disney. My husband put together a slide show afterwards and there was not a single picture of me in it. Why? Because I wasn't in any of the pictures. In our teens, 20's, 30's, maybe even now we are so hard on ourselves. We pick apart all of our flaws. Just put the damn swimsuit on, just take the damn picture. 20:01 - Ways to practice more body positivity.

Solo episode. Today I talk about boundaries, how to create them, set them, and follow through wit them. I like to keep it real so I hope it helps others. When I am struggling or succeeding I like to be open and honest. I have learned we need to set boundaries and be able to say no for our own self care and to be a better mom, spouse, friend, and so fourth.
I touch on signs from the universe I have been receiving. From experiencing dizzy spells, loss of balance, to hurting my back, finally having my aha moment listening to a podcast at the right time the universe is always giving us signs. We just need to listen and learn to get out of our own way.
Also in this episode:
15:01: I talk about my school program coming to an end in one month! I have learned so much at IIN. I share only a few things but trust me it has been a lot more than I shared in this short segment. ( I am in no way shape or form being sponsored or paid for talking about Institute Of Integrative Nutrition.)
19:43: Food Cravings. What our body is telling us either physically or emotionally. Not all cravings have to do with a deficiency in our bodies.
The two books I mention in this episode are Dying To Be A Good Mother. How I dropped the guilt and took control of my parenting and my life. By Heather Chauvin, and Untamed by Glennon Doyle.

Today's episode I focus on two healing modalities I use to help with stress, anxiety, and to relax my mind and brain at night.
Box Breathing.
My favorite technique and the one I do most often.
Inhale through your nose for a count of 5-10, hold breathe same count, exhale through nose same count, hold breathe again at the bottom and repeat. Repeat for 2-5 minutes.
Benefits of box breathing:
According to the Mayo Clinic, there’s sufficient evidence that intentional deep breathing can actually calm and regulate the autonomic nervous system (ANS).
This system regulates involuntary body functions such as temperature. It can lower blood pressure and provide an almost immediate sense of calm.
The slow holding of breath allows CO2 to build up in the blood. An increased blood CO2 enhances the cardio-inhibitory response of the vagus nerve when you exhale and stimulates your parasympathetic system. This produces a calm and relaxed feeling in the mind and body.
Box breathing can reduce stress and improve your mood. That makes it an exceptional treatment for conditions such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression.
Aromatherapy has been around for centuries but only becoming more mainstream in the past few years. I use Young Living Essential Oils and absolutely love the company and everything they stand for with their farming and only putting out pure essential oils and no fillers or anything synthetic in them.

In this solo episode I talk about my love hate relationship with social media and a much needed break from Facebook and Instagram. Having my own online virtual business I need to be on social media but it is draining being on Facebook. I also do not find it enjoyable to constantly post on Instagram. I am not one who likes to take "selfies".
I talk about Mother's Day, how being a mom ( or the parent the kids are closest with) is hard, we are the ones that they take all their big emotions, frustrations, and stress out on and sometimes it plan sucks, ending the stigma on Mental Health and May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and toxic positivity.
I enjoyed a few days in Disney with my kids and husband and made some great memories.
I also touch on my go to podcasts I am listening to at the moment and the books I am reading right now.

Lisa has been practicing yoga since 2009 and got her training in Italy. She created Yoga 911 Trauma-informed, Resiliency Trainings for First Responders and Yoga teachers.
Men and women who are employed as First Responders in any community often see more violence, death, and destruction in one day than many witness in a lifetime. Because they are called to ‘respond to, ‘act for,’ and ‘save’ others. As the effects of stress and trauma play out in their everyday lives, it must be acknowledged that their health and well-being are at stake. The training mission is to bring more awareness of the need for self-care and tools of resiliency and repair to this under- served population and their communities through immersive training in yoga practices and education in the management of stress and trauma. In this episode we talk about what the training is, how it helps first responders, and we also talk about the benefits of yoga.

In this solo episode I touch on different ways of popular eating plans or "diets". I hate the word "DIET", it seems so restrictive. But I wanted to talk about pros and cons of some of the popular eating plans out there right now.
KETO - the most googled eating plan of 2020!
Vegan/Vegetarian
Paleo
Low Carb
Meditaranian
Elimination
Pegan
I believe again like I have said before there are no one size diet that fits all! Fat does not make you fat, and crowd out your plate with fruits and veggies. I believe in taking an intuitive eating approach for myself when it comes to the food on my plate.
I have studied at Institute of Integrative Nutrition but by no means am I a doctor or clinical dietician. Please always conusult your doctor before starting a new diet plan.

Rebroadcast of my top downloaded and listened to episode: I almost deleted this one a few times. I don't like to talk about myself so I am very humbled that so many people have listened. Thank you all so much! In this episode I talk about what it is like having anxiety and OCD. It's the first time I have been so open and honest. I am doing this in hopes to help others and so many have done for me. I think being in the fitness, yoga, and wellness world there is a stigma that we are not supposed to have anxiety, depression, or a mental disorder. But if we become more vocal I think it helps lessen the stigma around it. So many others have been so open and vocal that it has helped me and I thank them and I hope in turn I am able to help someone too.
Towards the end of the episode I talk about tools to help with mental disorders, first and foremost always talk to your doctor or counselor. Talk therapy and medication should never be looked down upon and take when needed. Regular exercise and yoga help, breath work, meditation, journaling, gratitude practice, and reading are some tools that help me.
The book I mention is One Simple Thing. A New Look at the Science of Yoga and How It Can Transform Your Life. By Eddie Stern.

The benefits of meditation are extensive — and backed by science.
The mental health benefits of meditation include better focus and concentration, improved self-awareness and self-esteem, lower levels of stress and anxiety, and fostering kindness.
90% of Doctor's visits are stress related. Meditation is the most powerful stress-relieving tool. Think if doctors prescribed this more and more!
