Wave pool technology is sweeping the booging world in an impactful way, bringing different demographics into our beloved core discipline like moths to a flame.
To celebrate this “Wave Garden” technology being brought to the city of Sydney, Luke was allowed special access into the new URBN Surf wave pool as it was still undergoing its final pieces of construction.
Sitting down with Shaun Hutchinson, the General Manager of Operations, the two covered a wide variety of topics surrounding the new build and technology that is to be expected at this state of the art facility.

Tales of the Boog, in collaboration with Riptide Media and Luke’s Lounge, proudly bring you a pre Covid Indonesian dream trip turned bone altering nightmare featuring Cronulla’s own Rory Keily.
We take the timeline all the way back to early 2020 where Covid was just starting to simmer into international existence and borders were getting shut down faster than Canadian trucker bank accounts. Rory, being the seasoned veteran in Indonesian exploration, hit the eject button and opted out of Australian lockdown laws just as the last planes were leaving the once great southern lands tarmac.
Fast forward to one of the swells of the Indo winter and Rory’s dream escape turned to a hip pulverising nightmare as he lay quivering quietly with a hole the size of a coral head punctured in the side of his hip.
This tale will blow the fins right off your feet and have you begging for emotional mercy as you drown in the impact zone of Rory’s real life and death battle as he relays it back to Luke in the safety of his Cronulla abode.
