It’s been such a long time since I haven’t since my 4th guest. She/they left Rome in october after a couple weeks exploring the city. I met Laura in a swing lesson in Villa Celimontana during september. If I had known, we will rebuild the world until 5 am in a square… Laura likes to say she/they is/are a couple of different things : an engineer, a singer, an artist, a friend and a traveler but more than anything a true gelato’s lover. She kept saying there’s no hour to eat them, that’s why we brought them to begin the podcast. I wish you a moment as sweet as we had.
Oh you’re going to laugh a lot during this podcast, because my third guest is the funniest one. We met in Pigneto, the artsy neighborhood of Rome - and you’ll see that that makes a lot of sense. Abderrahim is Italian, born in Morroco. He speaks at least four languages, plays music, dances swing and, well, I am still trying to find something he can’t do. Smiling, sharing and initiating adventures - he’s the friend that we all want in our life. So have a seat and let him guide you through his story with his special vibe !

Chantalle is the first one. The first who leads me to Rome. I remember I met her in Piazza Trilussa the day after I arrived through my Egyptian roommate who said I’m sure you’re gonna like her. Fair enough. After meeting us, Chantalle with her easy way of speaking, making friends, be joyful and kindly, introduced me to everyone. She’s here in Rome even if she doesn’t choose it since three years and it’s a journey for her identity. I can’t wait for you to discover her personality and the love she spread to people.

The first guest on my little Roman balcony is Cristina. We met on the most ancient road in the world - the Via Appia Antica - what a beautiful way to start a friendship! Cristina was born in NYC, “made in Brooklyn” as she likes to say, but she feels at home in many different places. After working as a journalist for years, she now works for a non-profit organization. Joyful, sensitive, generous - that’s Cristina. Some of these traits might stem from her Italian origins... But enough spoilers! I'll let you hear the podcast and her answer to Why are U in Rome?

Hi human !
I’m Laura. I arrived in Rome this last first day of june for one year. I’ve always wanted to live abroad and especially in Italy, a country which I feel inside me. Everyone asks me why I am here and every time I don’t really know how to answer properly, and every day it’s another answer that I choose.
After three months here, I met so many people from all over the world with different stories, ages and cultures, and they’re all in Rome right now. And it makes me think a lot about this city, what’s inside or what we want to see in it.
So I made the decision to invite them in my apartment in Monti to have a friendly and intimate conversation together. Every time, we sit on my really quiet balcony with the view on the rooftops of Rome and then the micro’s on…
So meet me every two weeks on your favorite podcast application and don’t forget if you like it to put shining stars on Apple Podcast.
