Coach McCall is the head volleyball coach at North Platte Community College in North Platte, NE. She is a 3x Region 9 NJCAA DII coach of the year and has a handful of accolades that you can read in the link below.
Along with her career she is a mother to two sweet kiddos, Hadlee and Hagan.
This was a great episode on so many different levels…coaching, life and motherhood.

It's volleyball spring season time! So, we have decided to chat with a few Region 9 NJCAA volleyball coaches. This week you get to hear from Miss Angel Sharman, who is the head volleyball coach at Casper College. Coach Sharman is a hoot, if you ever meet her in real life and have a conversation with her, you will understand her sense of humor, especially when it comes to coaching. Justin and Kaylynn have 4 kids; Wyatt, Lane, Gemma and Jax. Great humans, great family and they make GREAT products.

Welcome to the mic, Tristan Campbell of McCook, Nebraska! Tristan is a freshman here in good ol' McCook.
He recently just won the title of the 2023 B-4 District Wrestling Champion at 145lbs. This is good episode in the eyes of a high school athlete. We can tell he was raised right and has tremendous work ethic.
We do believe, that we should have past guest Skylar Kalinski and Tristan have a wrestle off, or whatever you would call that.

A fun and interesting episode with a soon to be a McCook Community College volleyball Alumni. Victoria Thomas came to McCook from Houston, TX and was a member of the Dobie HS Volleyball Team. Victoria landed a special scholarship to attend this 2022 AVCA Convention as a player that helped display coaches volleyball drills. She hopes to pursue coaching one day, so this is a fun coaching/player episode!!!

Here is an episode with not just a PE teacher, but a past athlete. Now Carrie wasn’t just any athlete. She is very humble and you would probably never know that she still holds track records at McCook, NE High School and the University of Nebraska Kearney.
Here is a small write up of her accomplishments when she was inducted into the UNK Hall of Fame:
Carrie Hoehner Goltl currently ranks in the UNK career top 10 five different events, holding school outdoor records at 100 meters (11.90), 200 meters (24.27) and the long jump (20-5.25).A four-time NAIA All-American, she was runner up in the long jump at the 1989 indoor meet (19-1) while placing in the top six in the 200 and long jump at that year's outdoor championships in California.Don’t forget to follow CCC on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter!!

This episode is with not only a McCook business owner, but also someone that loves the sport of volleyball.
I mean he likes some other sports too, but we are going to say volleyball is his favorite!

We just had to have him back on the podcast with our co-host involved in this interaction. Same as last time, some great information to be heard. If you forgot who he was, Coach Jacob Brandl is the head men's basketball coach at McCook Community College
Brandl graduated from North Platte St. Pat’s High School in 2006, was named the North Platte Telegraph Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year. He went on to play at North Platte Community College in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008.
After receiving his Associate of Arts Degree in 2008 he went to Dana College in Blair and later attended Midland University in Fremont where he received a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education as well as a field endorsement in social science and coaching.
As a college player at North Platte and Dana, he scored 966 career points, including 221 career 3-point field goals. He started 30 straight games for the Knights and then 59 straight for Dana College. After attending Dana College he went on to Dakota Wesleyan from 2012-2014 where he received his master’s degree in Education Policy and Administration.
Take a listen on the one who really runs the Conroy house. Remember that episode with Coach Conroy, well this is his better half! Rachel was a collegiate softball at McCook Community College and has also dipped her toes in coaches as well at her alma mater of MCC.

Staci Blomstedt is a NCAA DI BYU Alumni, small business owner, mom, wife and still has time to coach every sport her kids participate in.

Lineman, father, husband and in his spare time he is a wrestling coach. Not only does he help out with the high school here in McCook, but he also helps run the McCook Wrestling Club.
You will hear the fact that Lena and myself know about wrestling and we learned a bit, but mostly we just listened since he was speaking a foreign language to us the whole time.
Great week to be a Bison though, best of luck to the McCook Bison Football team AND the Lady Indian Volleyball team as they had to the Region 9 volleyball tournament, with the one and only Cal Siegfried behind the wheel!
Ever wonder who gets the MCC athletes from point A to point B? Well, here is our first episode with one of our trusty bus drivers.
Not only does he drive a bus though, Cal has many things up his sleeve, which you will soon hear about if you listen to this episode.

Savanna Noyes-Thatcher was a DI volleyball player and then continued her volleyball career internationally after her time at KU.
Thomas Thatcher has a resume longer than the space given here. He was a Marine Sniper, Crossfit Coach, MMA fighter...and so much more.
Since we are both such a bundle of joy and have so much to talk about, we decided to take over the spotlight for a week.

Perfect timing for McCook Homecoming Week! On the mic we have former McCook Bison Football Coach Jeff Gross.
Gross was the head football coach for the Bison for 23 years. Within that time Gross led the Bison to 22 Class B state playoff appearances, including two state titles in 2002 and 2003.
And let us not fail to mention he ended his football career with a 208-53 record. Impressive to say the least.

Brandon Crick is currently on the Korn Ferry Golf Tour and has been since 2016. Besides being a decently good golfer, he also can be found with some skills when it comes to volleyball.

Maddie Kaalberg is the assistant coach of the McCook Community College Softball team. Maddie has a fun situation.........since the head coach is her father, coach Kevin Kaalberg. BLESS HER HEART!
The Kaalberg crew set McCook on the radar this season as they led the Lady Indians to their first ever Sub-Region Championship.
We hope to get Kevin on here soon, but until then, Maddie has some great insight on coaching with her father!!!

Ford Ladd is the current McCook Community College Assistant Baseball coach under the direction of Head Coach, Jon Olsen.
Besides enjoying a solid cup of coffee and a good book he has done a lot in his 20+ years of life. He played at NYU and from there he just continued to stay in the baseball path.
