Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) returns to the Senate after a three-month absence due to depression. His first hearing is said to be “painful to watch.”

On Tuesday, Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles, presented her inaugural city budget, which includes provisions to address the homelessness crisis, boost mental health services, and bolster LAPD recruitment. The budget allocates almost $1.3 billion to combat homelessness.
Paul Scrivano, the owner of the Blue Dog Tavern in Sherman Oaks outside of Los Angeles, is a long-time critic of the city council. Joining Larry Elder, he argues that politicians and city officials are more interested in maintaining funding for homeless services than actually solving the problem. “This is nothing but a money grab to give to her unions to give to her homeless 501(c)(3),” Scrivano says.
He also expresses frustration with Los Angeles council members for advocating for defunding the police and then complaining about low LAPD staffing.
Fox News agrees to pay $787 million to settle Dominion’s defamation lawsuit. Joining Larry Elder to discuss this is John Eastman, former Professor and Dean of Chapman University School of Law and one of the attorneys who represented Donald Trump, and who, as a result, is facing disbarment in California.
Although the settlement may be used to debunk all claims of election illegality and fraud, Eastman points out that other allegations of election irregularities remain viable. He also argues that Fox News’s admission does not have any bearing on the majority of the allegations from the 2020 election.
The Justice Department revealed on Monday that the FBI has apprehended two individuals accused of establishing and running an unauthorized Chinese police station in New York City. The alleged purpose of this operation was to exert influence over and intimidate critics of the Chinese government residing in the United States.
Joining Larry Elder to discuss this is Brent Sadler from the Heritage Foundation. He says that the Chinese Communist Party is highly skilled at influencing foreign political leadership and embedding itself in the global marketplace. They are also known for being adaptable and pragmatic, which makes competition with them difficult. In the next couple of years, there may be a kinetic test of American resolve as China seeks to exert its influence further.
Lastly, they touch on the recent leak of classified Pentagon documents that could jeopardize American national security and put lives at risk.

NCAA champion swimmer Riley Gaines was verbally and physically assaulted by pro-transgender protesters and held hostage while attempting to give a speech. A recent protest in Tennessee, instigated by two Democratic lawmakers, turned into a near-riot as protesters in Nashville stormed the state Capitol building.

She expresses her concern over several issues affecting society today. One of the most significant issues discussed was racism on the left, where people are judged solely based on their outward appearance and skin color, leading to assumptions about their beliefs and opinions.
They also discuss the issue of lawlessness and unequal application of the law, whereby those who are politically useful to certain groups are given more lenient treatment than others. She emphasizes the importance of finding colleges that do not indoctrinate students and watching their social media feed to ensure they are not exposed to biased content.

Didn’t the United States withdraw from the World Health Organization (WHO) during the Trump administration? It turns out that the withdrawal was halted by Joe Biden. According to Reggie Littlejohn, Founder and President of Women’s Rights Without Frontiers, the WHO’s plans pose an existential threat to American sovereignty and personal medical freedom.”
Joining Elder, Littlejohn explains what she calls a “digital gulag” that has been tried out in China and expanded to the rest of the world, including America.
She says the WHO is negotiating two instruments that would allow it to go into any country, including the United States, and mandate things like vaccines, which would abrogate national sovereignty and personal medical independence. Additionally, the U.S. Congress passed the National Defense Authorization Act, which obligates the United States to comply with anything passed by the WHO.
She also discusses central bank digital currencies, which would allow the government to know every transaction and programmatically control spending, potentially allowing the enforcement of vaccine requirements. She encourages people to take action through the Sovereignty Coalition website to alert Congress to the issue.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) made history by becoming the highest-ranking elected official to meet with a Taiwanese president on American soil since the United States established diplomatic relations with Beijing.
On Wednesday, McCarthy, alongside a bipartisan congressional delegation, welcomed Tsai at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley. During the meeting, McCarthy called Tsai “a great friend to America” and emphasized the strong bond between the two countries, which he believes is stronger than ever before.
The question of how strong the bond is remains, however. Would the United States respond militarily if China invaded Taiwan? To discuss this, Larry Elder is joined by James R. Gorrie, an Epoch Times contributor and author of “The China Crisis.”
Gorrie criticized the Biden administration’s policy of strategic ambiguity regarding Taiwan and its relations with China. He argued that the strategy was no longer effective and urged the United States to take more decisive action in support of Taiwan, including potentially arming the island and increasing military cooperation with Japan.

Stimson, who co-authored the book “Rogue Prosecutors: How Radical Soros Lawyers Are Destroying America’s Communities,” discusses the rise of rogue prosecutors who have been funded by billionaire financier George Soros and other organizations to take over prosecutors’ offices and dismantle the criminal justice system, which they claim is systemically racist. These hand-selected prosecutors, including Kim Fox in Chicago and Alvin Bragg in New York, have issued indictments without substantial evidence.

Former President Donald Trump’s indictment in New York City is a “sad day for American justice” and should be dismissed on legal grounds, according to legal analyst, Paul Kamenar.
Kamenar is the lead counsel for the National Legal and Policy Center. He joins Larry Elder to discuss the Trump indictment.
The charges brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg are based on a “thin” case that seeks to single out Trump, Kamenar says, adding that the charges appear to be politically motivated. The indictment, which alleges that Trump’s company and its CFO committed multiple counts of fraud, is likely to interfere with the 2024 presidential campaign. Kamenar also criticizes Bragg for “weaponizing” law enforcement to target political enemies, and suggested that the charges should be dismissed on legal and selective prosecution grounds.
China’s yuan replaces the U.S. dollar as the most-traded currency in Russia. What does this mean for America?
Joining Larry Elder to discuss the issue is Kevin Freeman, founder and CEO of Freeman Global Holdings and a New York Times bestselling author.
Freeman argues that the development is a threat to the United States, and that the Biden administration is contributing to the problem through excessive spending.
“I do not want to see the dollar fail, but I’m afraid we’re watching other countries that are working hard to make that happen,” he said, “and then you look to Washington, and it looks like the current administration is working to make that happen as well.”
Freeman suggests that to shore up confidence in the dollar, the U.S. needs to become energy independent, reduce regulation and excess spending, and move services back to the United States. He also expresses concerns about China’s accounting practices and economic interests.

A Manhattan grand jury has indicted former president Donald Trump.
Unsealed on Tuesday, the indictment charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree under New York Penal Law §175.10. Trump pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
Joining Larry Elder to discuss the indictment is the president of the David Horowitz Freedom Center and author of “Final Battle: The Next Election Could Be the Last,” David Horowitz.
In Horowitz’s opinion, the indictment is a weak case based on linking Trump to a felony through a reimbursement made to his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen. Horowitz argues that Trump’s actions were more likely aimed at protecting his family than at interfering with an election campaign.
“The greatest, most egregious election interference in the history of the country is what [Manhattan DA] Alvin Bragg is doing now. He’s totally derailed, on both sides of the aisle, the election campaign,” Horowitz said.
Horowitz also suggests that illegal immigration, the crisis on the southern border, and the alleged lawlessness of the Democratic Party are part of its agenda to establish a one-party state.
Hollywood is providing a great example right now of how the wealthy react to draconian tax laws. Celebrities such as Jim Carrey, Jennifer Lopez, James Corden, Britney Spears, and Kylie Jenner have put their properties on the market in recent months.
This is because a new “mansion tax” took effect in Los Angeles on Saturday that imposes a 4 percent tax on home sales valued at between $5 million and $10 million, and a 5.5 percent tax on sales over $10 million.

During the summer of 2022, protests erupted in the Netherlands over the government’s plan to reduce nitrogen emissions from the country’s farms by up to 95 percent. The Dutch government expects that many farms will have to close to achieve this goal.
What’s the rationale for such a plan from the government? Is it only happening in the Netherlands, or other parts of the world as well?
Last September, The Epoch Times’ Roman Balmakov visited the Netherlands and spoke with a variety of farmers on the ground for upcoming documentary “Eat the Bugs.” They described the challenges their sector faces from the national government and the EU, as those and other powerful factions seek to change how the world produces and consumes food.
Joining Larry Elder, Balmakov shares his knowledge and insights gained from filming the documentary. He thinks that the plan is driven by a belief that the world is ending due to manmade climate change, and the agricultural sector is being targeted to combat this threat. Farmers are being pushed out, and bugs are being promoted as an alternative source of protein.
He says there’s no one person to blame, but rather a tapestry of policies and agencies that are having the effect of pushing farmers out.
Balmakov also traveled around the world to interview farmers, agricultural departments, and governments and has found that the situation is complex in every country. Farmers fight back through legal channels, protests, and embargoes, but they are a tiny segment of the population and find it difficult to make their voices heard.
“And if you’re into it, you can eat bugs. The problem is that they’re forcing it on us,” says Balmakov, who has tried bugs himself. “What we’re exposing is the ideology that is being forced on people, not necessarily the bugs as a food item itself.”

The city of San Francisco is considering giving $5 million to each black descendant of slaves who lives in the city. They also want to allow blacks to purchase a home for one dollar, even though the average price of a home in the city is over $1 million. Additionally, they want to provide $97,000 in income support to black descendants of slaves for the next 250 years. And that’s just San Francisco. A California task force signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom is recommending at least a quarter of $1 million for every black person who lives in California, a state which, by the way, was not even a slave state.
However, not every black person is celebrating this $5 million extra income. Ward Connerly, former University of California regent, and founder and chairman of the American Civil Rights Institute, expresses his concern over the reparations movement.
“If you want to unite Democrats, Republicans, conservatives, and liberals against black people, this will do it. This makes people like me the target for everybody,” Connerly says, joining Larry Elder. “They’re trying to seduce us into thinking that there’s going to be this big paycheck. It’s not going to happen. It’s teasing black people.”

The Biden administration’s plan to cancel up to $20,000 in federal student loan debt for millions of Americans will come under scrutiny by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, facing a crucial test from a conservative-leaning court that has been wary of broad claims of executive power.

It became national, even international news that five Memphis police officers grabbed, beat, punched, pepper sprayed and tased a black suspect, named Tyre Nichols, who later died at the hospital.

It appears that Stanford University is walking back the placement of the word “American“ on its language guide, which lists words and expressions the university says one should avoid.
The guide is 13-pages long and is called the “Elimination of Harmful Language.” Under a section called “Imprecise Language,” the guide suggests replacing the term “American” with “U.S. citizen.”
After Stanford put out its language guide, the university immediately became the object of attack and ridicule. It now says the language guide is under review. The school recently issued the following statement: “We have particularly heard concerns about the guide’s treatment of the term ‘American.’ We understand and appreciate those concerns. To be very clear, not only is the use of the term ‘American’ not banned at Stanford, it is absolutely welcomed.”

According to Daily Mail’s exclusive report on Nov. 28, thousands of convicted pedophiles in California are being released from prison in less than a year for horrific acts, including rape, sodomy, and sexual abuse of children under 14.
And an article in May from the LA Times says, in normal times, a convicted sex offender’s request for leniency would have been met with a swift, emphatic “no” from the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
But these aren’t normal times in the DA’s office.
So when a felon earlier this year asked a judge to reconsider his 73-year sentence, the prosecutor assigned to the case didn’t object. He couldn’t, he explained in a court filing, because his boss, District Attorney George Gascón, wouldn’t allow it, court records show.
Still, LA County DA George Gascon has survived two efforts to recall him. In both cases, the petitioners failed to gather the sufficient number of valid signatures. And what has been played in all of this by Gov. Gavin Newsom?

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner, who got elected with financial support from George Soros, has been impeached. He now faces a trial in the state Senate. He’s accused of not prosecuting homicide cases and of soft-on-crime policies that allow criminals to escape justice and plague innocent victims.

Pundits, liberal and conservative, underestimated the impact on the midterms of the reaction to the reversal of Roe v. Wade. In states like Kentucky and Michigan, where abortion was on the ballot, restrictions to abortion lost and “protecting access” to abortion won.
According to The New York Times, in the two months following the reversal of Roe v. Wade, there were 10,000 fewer abortions than would have been expected over that period of time. If the price of saving 10,000 lives is that Republicans underperformed in the midterms, it is, in my opinion, a small price to pay.
At one time, this famous person agreed with me and wrote a personal compelling article that makes the case against abortion. This is what he wrote:
“I was born out of wedlock (and against the advice that my mother received from her doctor) and therefore abortion is a personal issue for me. From my perspective, human life is the highest good, the summum bonum. Human life itself is the highest human good and God is the supreme good because He is the giver of life. That is my philosophy. Everything I do proceeds from that religious and philosophical premise.
The author is Reverend Jesse Jackson. He wrote this in 1977. Seven years later, he ran for president as a pro-abortion Democrat.

Clearly, the red wave did not happen in the 2022 midterm elections. Many of the Trump-backed candidates—Arizona (too close to call), New Hampshire (lost Senate), Pennsylvania (lost Senate), and Georgia (run-off)—did not do well.
It appears that abortion and “election denying” (the strategy of Dems’ nominating “election deniers”—are more important to Democrats and independents than many thought.
The big winners were Ron DeSantis and Marco Rubio, especially DeSantis, who even carried Miami-Dade County, where he lost by more than 20 points to Democrat Andrew Gillum in 2018.
The country remains pretty evenly divided. How Democrats did so well—given the high inflation, crime rates setting records in some cities, gas prices twice what they were when Biden took office, and borders so overrun that there are at least 2 million more illegal aliens now in the country than 20 months ago—is pretty astounding.

Documents obtained by the Heritage Foundation after it sued the DHS reveal that one of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas’s staffers emailed him the account of photographer Paul Ratje, who took the viral photos, less than three hours before the White House press conference where the secretary condemned the agents.
“I’ve never seen them whip anyone,” Ratje said in a quote provided to Mayorkas, adding that the Border Patrol agent “was swinging [his reins] but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture.”

Rapper PnB Rock, 30, was shot to death around 1 p.m. on Monday at a Roscoe’s Chicken & Waffles in south Los Angeles, police said, days after revealing he’d been the target of several recent failed robbery attempts.
In the video posted to his Stories on his since-deleted Instagram, Rock is seen wearing a Louis Vuitton sweatshirt with massive diamond chains around his neck as he raps into the camera while driving around with his influencer girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang just before the fatal shooting. Police believe the social media post may have tipped the assailant to his location.
This is the second major rapper killed in Los Angeles in recent years. The other one is Nipsey Hussle.

According to The Wall Street Journal’s editorial on Aug. 26, the heavily redacted version of the FBI affidavit doesn’t justify the raid of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
“It’s possible the redactions in the 38-page document release contain some undisclosed bombshell. But given the contours of what the affidavit and attachments reveal, this really does seem to boil down to a fight over the handling of classified documents,” the article says. “It’s hard to believe that a dispute over documents would yield a criminal indictment. On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced a sweeping effort to forgive up to $20,000 of federal student loan debt for Pell Grant recipients, and up to $10,000 for other qualifying borrowers. Biden also extended the federal student loan payment pause through Dec. 31.
According to an analysis of Biden’s plan by the University of Pennsylvania out Tuesday, such a wide-ranging bailout will come with a price tag of $300 billion to $980 billion for American taxpayers. Furthermore, the university calculated that “between 69 and 73 percent of the debt forgiven accrues to households in the top 60 percent of the income distribution.”

An Illinois state judge denied bail Wednesday for the gunman who police say confessed to the July 4 massacre in Highland Park that left seven people dead.
Authorities revealed that the gunman considered starting another shooting spree in Madison, Wisconsin, where he drove while he was avoiding police in Illinois. And there were more questions about how he was able to get his guns in the first place.
In April 2019, local police had gone to the gunman’s family home after receiving a report that he had tried to take his own life a week earlier. Officers spoke with him and his parents and were told mental health professionals were handling the matter.

The parents of a slain California police officer are demanding Los Angeles DA George Gascon be recalled for his far-left policies after their son and his partner were killed in the line of duty.
The gunman who killed two El Monte cops is a 35-year-old with a long criminal record. The parents blamed Gascon as the killer would not have been out on the streets if not for his soft-on-crime policies.

Two police officers—one a 22-year veteran and the other a rookie—were shot and killed in the Los Angeles County city of El Monte late Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The suspect is also dead. The mayor said the officers were “essentially ambushed.”
The El Monte officers were identified Wednesday as Cpl. Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana. Paredes, the longtime veteran of the department, is survived by his wife, daughter, and son, police said. Santana, who previously worked as a public works employee and with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department before joining the police department in his hometown, is survived by his wife, daughter, and twin sons.

After 36 years, the sequel to the Tom Cruise movie classic “Top Gun” is a critical and commercial success, earning $248 million at the global box office on its opening weekend. In Taiwan, it’s also being celebrated for another reason: not pandering to China.
Tencent, a Chinese company, originally helped finance the movie. Hence, in its early stages, a trailer that removed the Japanese and Taiwanese flags from the protagonist’s uniform was released. However, after Tencent withdrew from the project, the flags returned.

In another mass shooting, four people—two doctors, a receptionist, and a patient—were killed in Tulsa after a gunman opened fire inside a medical building Wednesday, authorities said.
According to Townhall, a recent poll conducted by The Trafalgar Group surveyed 1,091 general election voters and found that 57.5 percent of voters believe schools are somewhat or much more dangerous without teachers who carry a legal firearm and are properly trained to use it. This leaves just over a mere 30 percent who oppose it. While 67.5 percent of these voters are Republicans, almost half at 48.2 percent are Democrats in favor of arming teachers.

President Joe Biden on Monday briefly discussed new gun control options, including a potential ban on assault weapons. He said the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which protects the right to keep and bear arms, “was never absolute.”
“You couldn’t buy a cannon when the Second Amendment was passed,” Biden said. “You couldn’t go out and purchase a lot of weaponry.”
Jonathan Turley rebutted his claim.

A gunman opened fire Tuesday at a Texas elementary school, killing at least 19 children. It’s the latest in a series of mass killings at churches, schools, and stores.
The suspect is being identified as 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, of Uvalde, Texas, where the mass shooting began at about noon.
The shooting at Robb Elementary School was the deadliest at a U.S. grade-school since a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, in December 2012.
It does not appear that the dead alleged shooter, Salvador Ramos, was a white supremacist. Watch the media, post-Buffalo supermarket shooting, deftly switch from “angry white men” to “easy access of guns.”

A Virginia man has been charged in a March shooting that killed a newspaper reporter and two other young bystanders when a fight broke out at closing time outside a Norfolk bar. But we only hear it now? Why? Because President Joe Biden, the Democrats, and the media only care about black people killed by a white person, ideally by a white cop.
But there’s an “inconvenient” fact about mass killings: white males are “underrepresented,” while blacks and Asians are “overrepresented.”

After a draft opinion suggesting the overturn of Roe v. Wade was leaked, some expected the Democrats to use the possibility of a Roe v. Wade reversal to “energize the base.” For one thing, far and away, Americans are concerned about the economy, specifically inflation, with inflation last month at 8.35 percent.
But even on the issue of abortion, only 6 percent of Americans want abortion up to and including the third trimester, the position of the Democrat base. And Roe v. Wade does not make abortion “illegal,” despite what pundits on the Sunday chat shows say.
While it is true that polls, broadly speaking, say that Americans want Roe v. Wade to stay in place, Americans want far more restrictions than the Democratic base wants. So it’s not necessarily a winning issue for Democrats politically in the 2022 midterms. As Larry Elder said: “Only 2 percent of Americans believe the economy is ‘very good,’ and the overwhelming majority blame Joe Biden and Joe Biden’s policies.”
Things like critical race theory is another reason Democrats are losing Hispanic voters. This is from Newsweek: “While Donald Trump had been vanquished, Latino voters had embraced him in heavily Hispanic enclaves along the South Texas border and in formerly deep-blue Miami-Dade County in South Florida. In fact, a May 2021 report by the Democratic data firm Catalyst found an eight-point swing nationally among Latinos toward Trump.”
