A podcast educating English teachers on how to work as English coaches, inspire them to build a thriving business around their coaching, and encouraging them to make a bigger impact by training their learners to be better language learners.
I thought with all the news about how challenging next year is going to be, I'm going to be sharing with you four ways you can help your clients fast-track their progress (simply by helping them take action) so you can get those written down in testimonials and stand out as the one who helps people get results faster and more effectively. If there is any part of the episode that grabbed your interest and you want me to talk more about it, I'd love to dedicate a whole episode on how we should coach our language coach clients around those topics, just get in touch @morethanjustteacher on Instagram.
Ever since I made the toughest and most fateful decision of my life, which was leaving my home country 10 years ago, I have learnt to embrace change. Here I am shouting from the top of the hill that change is good, and I can't honestly be more grateful for past Csabi for learning to embrace change.
In today's episode, I'll be sharing with you loads of behind the scenes of one of the most challenging summers my business had to go through, how success is more about responding to what's happening, and not the results you're getting, so you can have a different perspective on change.
If you'd like to chat about what you heard, anything I shared resonated with you, I can't wait to unpack that with you in a DM, just drop me a message @morethanjustteacher and let's chat.
Impactful English Coaches value their time more than anything.
In this episode, I'm sharing with you some of the ways I created more time in my business and in my life so that you can have more free time to do what you love doing and spend less time on things that do not necessarily move the needle in your business.
I'm sharing a lot in this episode and what's the magic behind why they work so it's understandable that you won't be able to implement all of these, but I hope that you can take away one tip and start living your life in a way that benefits the way your brain works.
If you have any questions or would like me to talk about other topics related to English coaching, business management or social media, or just simple want to chat to someone, drop me a DM @morethanjustteacher and let's chat.
Is your teacher mindset blocking your sales? It's normal for us teachers to explain and give out information - this is the way we were taught when language coaching didn't even exist, and probably the way you were trained on all those teacher training courses you took part in. The truth is: information is always good, useful, but it doesn't speak to people in the way the brain processes information. You want to build trust with your audience, and the best way to do that is to get them small wins from the content you share, so they say "This stuff really is working." and decide to join your paid offer. In this episode, I'm going to be sharing with you more effective ways to communicate what you do, who you help and why your solution is the go-to for your ideal client. Ever since I understood and applied the strategies I'm sharing here, I've had double the number of people messaging me about my services and singing up. What do you think about all that I shared here? Feel free to reach out, I love discussing topics important for content creator language coaches - DM me on Instagram @morethanjustteacher
You CAN learn to manage your anxiety. I used to believe that I'm just like this and there's no way for me not to be held back by my perfectionism, anxious thoughts and kept procrastinating - even on the things I'm sharing with you in this episode. Before I jump into more language coaching strategies, I thought I would be doing a better service to you if I talked about my anxiety issues and how I LEARNT to manage them. The important thing to remember is not to personalise it - your mind is having anxious thoughts because it's trying to protect you from things you have little or no experience with. But when you understand that a thought is just a thought, and you can learn not to buy into it (because the truth is, you aren't in danger) so you feel less overwhelmed about making the right decisions, hit that "Post" button even if you know you could work on your posts for another 2 hours to make them better, or get into language coaching and implement what you're learning about language coaching on the go. What's your biggest takeaway from this episode? Shoot me a DM at @morethanjustteacher and let me know your thoughts. If you need a person to reach out to and talk about your struggles, know that I'm here for you as someone who went through the things you're currently experiencing. Feeling like you can't connect with your audience at a deeper level and wondering how to take your coaching skills up a notch? In this episode, I'm going to be revealing how accepting your mistakes, flows, thing you regret not taking action on; your negative thoughts and feelings are all part of the game.
We always find things to relate to when other people are vulnerable, but that's one of the hardest things for educators to lean into, because society expects us to know everything, be good at everything, and be professional at all times. Sometimes that trickles down into our own self-imposed expectations as well. When you realise that part of connecting with your clients so they trust you and share with your their deepest struggles is you shedding that perfectionism and trying to prove your value by reaching a bigger audience, more views, likes, subscriptions and revenue.
Be and stay vulnerable, the strength that makes us all connect at a human level.

If someone who has been called gay, lost his hair, and had two "failed" launches with $0 revenue, I know what it feels like to embrace your flaws and mistakes. I hear you, warrior!
Back with an episode on language coaching, in which I talk about my own way of separating soft language coaching from a more hard-core mindset and brain-based one. I often get messages from my audience asking how to start shifting their teaching into language coaching, which is what motivated the creation of this episode. I'm sharing with you three simple activities you can have your clients do, mostly to help them create more self-awareness around who they are as an autonomous language learner and what their expectations are. One of the biggest mistakes English teachers make is that they TALK about mindset and that's it. Someone's "mindset" a.k.a. their neural pathways won't just magically change just because an English teacher gives a presentation on goals or time management. That's why the last activity is a mindset-related one where you can help them understand the importance of positive self-talk, an incredibly important part of helping someone experience a transformation; your client needs to do the consistent work towards more empowering habits to reach their goals. Let me know what you think about these activities and I really hope you will experiment with one of these - they all worked really well with my one-to-one language coachees and helped them build awareness around their issues, expectations and characteristics. If you can, post a screenshot of the worksheet you created on your stories and tag me on Instagram @morethanjustteacher so I can look at it and be your first to pop the champagne. If you have any questions about the activities, just drop me a DM, you know how much I love connecting with fellow professionals striving to be impactful English coaches. :)
Do you expect to stand out and make more sales by sharing a language learning tip? I mean, I understand that you’re an expert and an authority in language teaching, but so are about 1000 other people on social media all promoting their business.
Wouldn’t you think your ideal client has already seen those tips somewhere else? Or they would have googled it and acted on it before? There’s got to be more than just a tip in an impactful English coach’s content - our job is to help people through belief breakthroughs so they can have the results they desire.
Using content pieces as a way to help your ideal client realise what they’ve been doing wrong and why that’s not going to help them get closer to their goal, and THEN offering a new solution is the new black - the exact formula that I teach English coaches in my 1:1 and group programmes as well.
Wouldn’t helping someone get out of a limiting belief be immense value in your social media strategy? That’s what today’s episode is about.
This might be a completely new concept for you, and I’d love you to thrive on social media as an English coach, so feel free to drop me a DM if you have a question or just simply want to chat:

Imposter Syndrome affects all of us, whether it’s a beginner English teacher tiptoeing in language coaching, or a 6-figure coaching business-owner; it’s how our brain tries to protect us.
It’s always about how we respond when those thoughts like “Who do you think you are to [launch]?” or “What will other people think if you’re sharing this?” and learn how much we already know, instead of focusing on what we’re not skilled at.
The number one reason the English coaches I’ve helped in my one-to-one coaching programme was their Imposter Syndrome. They felt like a fraud, they did not realise the value they bring to the world, and because of these limiting beliefs, they only shared simple tips and couldn’t attract the right kind of client who then would invest in them.
The moment the breakthrough happened, they all started to work on the strategies that were laid out for them to post consistently, build demand for their offer and convert their followers into paying clients.
In this episode, I’m inviting you to reflect on what I share about all these aspects of this nasty feeling, hoping that you will take away at least one thing and immediately implement it so you can make the impact on our industry that you were always meant to.
If you’d like to dive deeper into the thought process you can go through to deal with Imposter Syndrome, take your thoughts off autopilot, and see this from a whole different perspective, join my open masterclass, a masterclass that’s part of my English coach community, ENGAGE, but this training will available for you all for free too, so you can move the needle in your business without feeling like a fraud:

What grammar rules, vocabulary and pronunciation is to your students strategies, frameworks and courses are for you. You know that students can't simply improve their fluency by amassing more grammar rules, that's the same thing for you as a teacher/coach and for your business. The number of struggling English coaches I see jumping from one course to the other, watching videos, taking notes on useful information, but staying stuck for months - or even years is just painful to see. That's why I've always wanted to deliver this episode at the very beginning of my podcast, so you become more aware how there are two pedals we need to learn to handle: the gas/accelerator pedal for strategies and courses, and the brake for building our mindset. In today's episode I'll be sharing with you how this all works in your brain and your clients' brain and how you can make the first steps to lean into whatever you don't want to do and have been avoiding for a long time to truly experience growth in your personal and business life.
Letting go of parts of our personality that no longer serve us is also part of the brain-based goal-setting I do with my students. You can watch the following webinar where you can discover how to use your programme to truly make an impact on your clients in ways the brain likes.

If you found any of the information here useful, I would be deeply honoured if you could share my episode on your socials or just send it over a few of your friends who you think would find it useful. Let's help each other make the English Language Teaching industry a better place for both teachers and learners to be part of.
Coaches are there to help people change their mindset, but mindset is such a complex amalgamation of beliefs, indoctrinations, norms that it’s hard to get started for beginner coaches to dive deep into.
That’s why instead of coaching learners’ mindset, English coaches should coach something else that’s even more tangible, something that, with the right amount of self-awareness build around, defines you as well as your clients. And that’s your habits.
Just think about it: Have you taken a shower this morning? If yes, it’s because you’re the type of person who takes showers in the morning. If not, it could be because - you’re the type of person who takes showers in the evening - or you’re the type of person who takes a bath in the morning - or even, you’re the type of person who doesn’t take showers
Your habits defnte your identity, and you have a hundred thousand habits that you don’t even no you do - things like skipping some of the lines in this description (some people haven’t even got to this point).
Helping your learners building awareness around their habits and coaching them to build more empowering habits that help them through their language learning journey is your number one job. You might also have habits you hate but you may keep falling back to your old habits - that’s because there are subconscious programmings that are running and you aren’t even aware of them.
In this podcast, I’m sharing the neuroscience of habits, why habits aren’t the easiest to change, how you could start forming habits that help you build your business and live your life better; and how knowing all this helps you coach your clients better.
I’m talking more about this in a free webinar designed for beginner English coaches ‘Brain-based English goal setting’ - sign up for the webinar to learn how to coach by tapping into your learners’ brain to make it easier for them to set, and more importantly, maintain their goals and motivation, and mind-blowing tips on how to coach your clients’ habits so you can help them reach faster results and overcome their biggest struggles.

Coaches should stop setting SMART goals. Mostly because we 100% believe in the abilities of our clients, and Achievable and Realistic is certainly not something that would encourage them to go out of their ways and achieve something phenomenal in your coaching programme. In this episode, I'm sharing with you the most effective ways to set goals for yourself, your business, but also for your language coaching clients; goal-setting methods that the brain loves. It's time educators started considering the way our learners' brain works and give them the necessary support they need to know to finally see tangible results in their coaching, and that's what I'm committed to help you and other English coaches with. If you liked the episode and want to learn more about setting language goals with your clients, sign up for my free webinar in the link below to see how this brain-based goal-setting framework is implemented in a coaching programme:

In this episode, I talk about the difference between teaching and coaching and why we should not understand this as a dichotomy. I'll be sharing my way of looking at language coaching, learner autonomy and learner training so you can understand more about this relatively new phenomenon (in 2022 when these show notes are written).
