Read it again and again... littles love repetition, and they need it, especially when it comes to foundational stories like how God created the world! But the real power comes when kids begin to apply these stories to their own lives. Our theory is, either Sadie likes to repeat the story of the "First Sin" because she plans to become a snake tamer, or because she is really starting to get that Jesus came because we could never get it right on our own!

RESOURCES MENTIONED:

Tonight, we are reading from the Read and Share Toddler Bible.

And they’re off... and selling all their stuff! The church has begun and they are living in a state of radical generosity - everyone had what they needed because everyone sold their excess and shared everything! Miracles, care for each other, and most importantly, the truth that Jesus was who He said- it all ignites the early church into rapid growth. The gospel is on the move! When should you start discipling your smallest kids? And does Sarah ever end up actually buying Sadie that light for her bed like she promised (without thinking)?! Discipling littles starts as soon as they arrive on planet earth. Spending this time with toddlers and babies is alot more about introducing them to the concept of who God is and beginning to form the foundations of truth: God made us, God loves us, we all mess up and sin, and God sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin. Simple, classic Bible stories are where we teach these concepts. Investing in lots of different toddler Bibles will make this time with your little one engaging and FUN. Sarah probably spends too much money collecting super cute kids' Bibles.

Tips! Make story time SPECIAL with lots of cuddling and give your little one an opportunity to share whatever they are thinking about- even if it is wanting to buy that bed lamp for their new bed! Use this time to bond before bedtime! Read with the baby in your belly, your newborn, your toddler, your preschooler... establish the habit ASAP and it will last for years to come!
