I also break down why so many women unintentionally skip it, and what to do if you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start. If it’s been on your mind, this will help you actually get going.

At the age of 31, shortly after giving birth to her son Diego, Kisha Stewart experienced a life-threatening heart attack caused by a rare and often under-recognized condition called SCAD. What started as what she thought was normal postpartum fatigue quickly turned into chest pain, dizziness, and nausea — symptoms that could have been easily dismissed.

In this episode, Kisha opens up about that terrifying night, the role her intuition played in getting the care she needed, and the challenges of navigating gender bias in the healthcare system. She also shares her journey of rebuilding both her physical health and trust in her body, and offers vital insight into warning signs every woman should know. This is a story of resilience, awareness, and empowerment that every listener can learn from.

About Kisha Stewart:

Kisha Stewart, a nurse and mother of three, survived a near-fatal "widowmaker" heart attack (SCAD) at age 31, just two weeks after giving birth. Despite having a medical background, her symptoms were initially dismissed as anxiety. Now a Go Red for Women advocate, she shares her story to highlight postpartum risks, racial disparities in care and the need for self-advocacy. She documented her experience in the book "Sonata for a Damaged Heart: A Young Mother's Journey of Survival After a Near Fatal Heart Attack.

Motherhood didn’t unfold the way Beth expected. After becoming pregnant easily at 39, she assumed her second journey would look the same. Instead, she faced multiple miscarriages, failed IVF transfers, and the unexpected discovery of Hashimoto’s — an autoimmune condition that had gone undiagnosed.

WATCH THE FULL VIDEO EPISODE ON YOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/tr_X8EdRDMQ

In this deeply vulnerable episode, Beth shares what the fertility journey really looks like behind the scenes: the grief, the advocacy, the emotional toll, and the pressure of watching time pass.

We talk about:

-The myth of the 35 “cliff”

-Dating with a fertility timeline

-How pressure impacts women’s mental health

-The dark side of the fertility industry

-And the resilience that comes from rewriting the rules

At the end of the episode, Beth shares what she would tell her younger self and offers powerful words for women who feel like they’re behind.

Listener Note: This conversation includes discussions of miscarriage, IVF, and pregnancy loss, which may be sensitive for some listeners.

About Beth Gulotta:

Beth Gulotta, LMHC, is a psychotherapist, group private practice owner, boy mom, and host of the Quiet the Clock podcast, where she explores fertility, identity, and the pressure of societal timelines. She is the founder of NYC Therapeutic Wellness, a New York City based group practice, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York State with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan College. After years of following the “I should” path into finance before answering the “I want” call to therapy, Beth built a career centered on partnership, self-connection, and emotional healing. Her work is deeply informed by her personal fertility journey, which includes multiple IVF failures, miscarriages, and secondary infertility; she welcomed her first son through natural conception at age 40 and is currently expecting her second child after conceiving naturally at 44, bringing lived experience, nuance, and compassion to conversations often shaped by fear and silence.

Ever get your blood work back and think… okay but what does any of this actually mean?? This episode is for the woman who wants to understand her body instead of just reacting when something feels off.

A recent 2024 Hologic x Gallup survey found that nearly half of women have skipped or delayed a health screening a doctor recommended. Not because they don’t care, but because of things like time constraints, cost, anxiety around tests, or not thinking a screening applies to them.

In this episode, we’re breaking down a huge part of screenings and prevention: blood tests. I’m walking you through 10 blood tests that can reveal major health clues, what they actually tell you, and how knowing your numbers can help you feel more in control of your health — not stressed by it.

I know we spend a lot of time talking about what to eat but today, I want to talk about how we’re cooking and storing that food. Because some of the most common kitchen items like plastic containers and old nonstick pans can quietly mess with our hormones thanks to chemicals like BPA, phthalates, and PFAS.

In this episode, I’m walking you through some kitchen swaps I genuinely think are worth making. No overwhelm, no pressure just small changes that can make a real difference over time.

If you’re looking for easy, practical ways to lower your exposure to toxins and support your hormone health, this one’s for you.

We’re also diving into how to build a solid support system, even when it feels like you’re going at it alone. Plus, Dr. Rachel’s got some simple strategies to help you turn that inner critic into your biggest cheerleader, shift your mindset when things go south, and actually celebrate your wins (without guilt). If perfectionism has a grip on you, she’s sharing the mindset shift that’ll help you drop the pressure to be perfect.

In honor of International Women’s Day, this episode is all about showing up for yourself, embracing your achievements, and breaking free from burnout. LISTEN UP!

Happy Women's Health Month, friends! QUESTION! Have you ever had a conversation with your mom, aunt or any female relative about their health history?! One way to reach your best health as a woman is to prepare for what might be in your future, and one of the greatest ways to do that is to talk to a woman who shares many of your genes: your mom. When we take a moment to ask health-related questions, it can help us to understand our own health in a better way. And having these conversations can lead to healthy lifestyle changes or preventative measures to possibly reduce the risk of certain health challenges.

Today, I am so so soooo excited to be in conversation with my biggest inspiration...MY MOM aka "mama flourish!" We had a fun time chatting about body image, how we are keeping our health in check these days, and highlight the top 9 questions every woman should ask their mom. You're going to love this one!

What's going on?! Colorectal cancer is on the rise in young adult women in their mid-30's and 40's. Why is nobody talking about it? In fact, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in women after breast and lung cancer. Last week the White House hosted their Cancer Moonshot Forum which covered key topics such as colorectal cancer screening, prevention, disparities, treatment, innovation and support. Following the forum, I attended a reception hosted by an organization called Fight Colorectal Cancer where I interviewed today's special guests, Dr. May and Candace, two phenomenal changemakers in the industry working tirelessly to keep Americans healthy. Together, we discussed the statistics, symptoms you should know about, nutrition & lifestyle tips you should consider and most importantly, how to advocate for yourself! You're going to love this episode. LISTEN UP!

Happy International Women's Day!!! To celebrate, we are having an exclusive body talk episode. Over 90% of women are insecure about their bodies and appearance, leaving them vulnerable to developing eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and other body image struggles. Mainstream culture perpetuates impossible beauty standards and body ideals that leave a harmful imprint that can last a lifetime. Today, I am in conversation with Taylor, founder of size-inclusive swimwear company, Nomads. She shares her journey to becoming a plus-size model, how she finally  established a good relationship with her body, challenges in the beauty industry, why she started her brand and more. Taylor is also the sole founder and designer of Nomads Swimwear, a destination-inspired brand that creates chic, size-inclusive swimwear and resortwear for sizes XS-5X. Since its launch in July of 2020, Nomads has been featured by Forbes, Instyle, and Harper's Bazaar and has truly become a breakout brand in the size-inclusivity swim space. Well, according to the American College of Gastroenterology, women are more likely to experience gut issues like chronic constipation compared to men. Women also experience irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) at 2 to 6x times the rate that men do and women with IBS tend to have more trigger foods and worse symptoms than men with IBS. What do you know about the surrogacy and donor egg process?! At our women’s summit, we did our very first live podcast recording and it was incredible! It’s finally here and today, I am replaying the conversation I had with Debbie Villafana and Perla Piekutowski on our stage. With advances in medical technology, I think it’s important for women to have a basic understanding of the various paths to building families, even those that are “non-traditional”. We need to be informed and it doesn’t hurt to know what’s out there - whether it's something you would consider or not. Just because someone chooses to expand their family in a way that you don’t necessarily agree with - doesn’t mean that you should look at them differently. Being informed is vital. From defining surrogacy to discussing health risks, and benefits, to cost and regulations - we are not leaving anything out! Listen up ladies!

Perla has over 13 years of experience in helping create families via gestational surrogacy. Perla and her husband also needed assistance growing their own family through IVF. Her journey to having her children has gifted Perla with more empathy and appreciation for intended-parents. While there isn't really a "PCOS diet" out there that will work for everyone, research has found that certain nutrients you get from food or supplements can have a direct impact on hormone production and help manage or improve specific symptoms that you may be experiencing. Today, I am back with a solo episode to debunk some pcos diet myths and really break things down for you. Listen up!

But seriously, when will it stop? Women are often the ones to blame when talking about fertility challenges. The truth ... A third of fertility issues are dominated by men, so it's very common but remains taboo. First, nobody is to blame for fertility issues. Second, both parties should consider ways to optimize fertility health. Besides, it takes two to tango? Today, I'm in conversation with the WeNatal Founders, Ronit and Vida to chat about male fertility. If your partner is male, you'll want to get them in on this conversation too. LISTEN UP!

About Ronit & Vida

Ronit & Vida have been best friends for more than a dozen years. They connected on many life milestones, including falling in love, career advancement, getting married, and getting pregnant. In early 2020, they experienced pregnancy loss, just a week apart. They couldn’t help but wonder about the root cause. After a lot of research and collaboration with fertility experts, Ronit & Vida realized just how critical preconception health is, not just for women, but for future fathers. After founding WeNatal, the first prenatal designed for both men and women, they made it a mission to educate couples and provide them both with the best nutrients possible to improve egg and sperm quality.

I'm not gonna lie, I hate this "women should love your body this..." "love your body that..." Let's be real here, it's just unrealistic for the majority. When it comes to a woman’s body, it is constantly going through changes throughout the lifecycle, from teenage years to menopause and beyond. Yes, it's meant to change. Also, pregnancy and women's health issues like PCOS may bring about other body image hurdles. Having a more positive body image does NOT mean you have to be totally in love or happy with all aspects of your body, but I do think it's important to establish a more appreciative relationship with it..in whatever way that looks like to you, on your own unique body image journey. In this episode, I share 5 tips to show your body more love, no matter where you are on your journey. Listen up.

We asked the FH community on IG, "Do you switch up your workouts based on the phase of your cycle?" and 50% of you said YES! The other 50% never thought of doing that before. Lately, the phrase "cycle-syncing" has been pretty buzzy, but when it comes to syncing exercise specifically with your cycle, are really there any benefits? Is this just another useless trend? Can certain exercises be more effective? I do know that most fitness programs are tailored to a male’s hormonal cycle which obviously is drastically different from the female hormonal cycle. Today, I am chatting with special guest Berrion who breaks down everything you need to know about syncing your exercise with your cycle and if we should be doing it. At the end of the day, pick a workout that works for you and makes you feel great.

I feel like there’s this toxic vibe to wellness nowadays that’s causing us to become so overly obsessed with micro-managing our bodies, looking for the next quick fix to cure every single part of us. Making us believe something is wrong with us when in fact our bodies are very capable of self-regulating and we don't need every product on the market to achieve good health. The micromanaging and obsession is the part of wellness that we need to talk about. Wellness today lacks representation and it's so one way. Today, I have special guest Cassie, who is going to give you a step-by-step guide on achieving wellness in a way that is unique to you and actually works. It’s super important that we define what wellness really means to us individually and what it should look like. Wellness belongs to us all no matter your skin tone, body size, hair texture, and culture.

I love this time of the year. Winding down, rejuvenating, and reflecting on the joys with loved ones, over delicious comforting food. It's really the best. But I've noticed something very interesting...this time of the year also comes with unsolicited comments about weight and food choices from people, sometimes from those that are the closest to us. And really, these comments can do more harm than good. So in this episode, I am sharing 4 reasons why you should never comment on people's food choices or eating habits. Let's put a stop to this...seriously.

Burnout is no fun… at all. After what I went through last year, I was like nope. This will not happen to me again. I had to learn how to turn the switch off when necessary. I know I am not the only one out there who has experienced this before. If you are listening to today’s episode, chances are you've been burned out before, you are dealing with it now or you don’t want to get to that point and you need some real tools to help you out. I mean, burnout is not cute, and it definitely does no good for our bodies... and hormones too. It affects every area of our life and our well-being so I had to bring Crystal Joseph, one of the best mental health therapists I know, to tell us everything we need to know about preventing burnout so we can thrive.

Sex drives are such a wonky thing in my opinion. Everything from your menstrual cycle to how much stress you’re under can cause a slight change - and a sudden change in your libido could also be a sign of an underlying medical issue in some cases. But what about certain "aphrodisiac" foods? Is that a thing? Do they have anything to do with libido? I brought my girl Cory to the show to tell us more about it.
