We do half an hour on 1 John 4 and then pivot to respond to some more scandals that have come into the light that affect the big C church. This is a part 1 discussing whats going on, we plan on doing a part 2 to talk more about what our church should and can do to avoid the same situation.
We discuss the tensions between living in grace and the application of our faith in how we apply it. Are we saved? Have we done enough? What should our lives look like? These questions are tensions to be managed, not problems to be solved.
Lots of nonsense mixed in with some serious discussion about processing information in our world. We also spend some time talking about what our Epistles would look like if we wrote them in 2022 and then that Jesus is our advocate and he loves us perfectly.

We talk today about the insidious doctrine around the Health and Wealth gospel and how it feeds into the lack of faith among younger believers. We all struggle with the question of why bad things happen to good people. Maybe we aren't supposed to fix everything for people but instead sit in the tension with them. Maybe the relationship is the thing. Pursuit is a place designed around relationships, we believe it's core to how we should relate. If we want to be a church that cares, we need to remember we are the church and we need to be in community caring for the people Jesus loves.
We dive into some of the problems with the attactional church model and talk about Pursuit's heart for the community and how we are careful to keep our eyes on the right things.
Ever wonder how to hear God's voice in your prayer life? Some of our staff sat down this week and talked through that topic. We focused on some basic steps to listening to God in prayer. Let us know if you have any questions or ideas for future podcasts.
