Welcome to A Reader's Book Corner!Happy Holiday Listeners, hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Welcome to 2024! I can’t believe we are already in a new year and I appreciate everyone whose tuned in to any or all of the episodes. We discussed a lot of good books and learned about a lot of new authors, ones I hadn’t read their books and some I always read their books.
It’s exciting because when I’m introducing you all to new authors and books, I’m also introducing those new authors and books to myself. Now today, we are going back to another author whose book was featured on the podcast, Pat Simmons, we discussed her new book, Day Not Promised in Episode 77 and Pat came on the podcast in Episode 70.
We started off 2023 with her title and I thought it would be poetic to start 2024 with book two in her The Intercessors series, Day She Prayed. This book is a Christian fiction book about one woman standing in faith while helping others find their way to the Lord. It is about a community built with prayer warriors. It shares it's not too late to seek out the Lord and ask for forgiveness.
We discuss crossover characters, the main character's assignment, how others work in your favor even when you don't know, how the intercessors series can affect you, about the author and more.

In today's episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Romance, Women Fiction and Thriller writer Shelly Ellis. Shelly's fiction writing career began when she became one of four finalists in the BET Books First-Time Writers Contest when she was 19 years old. The prize was having her first short-story romance published in the book, All That and Then Some!
Her first novel, The Right Maneuver, debuted in April 2011. She has since published several novels and short stories under different pen names. She has been nominated for African American Literary Award, RT Reviewer's Choice award in Multicultural Romance, was named one of iBooks Rising Stars in Romance in 2015, and received a 46th annual NAACP Image award nomination for the third book in the Gibbons Gold Digger series, Another Woman's Man.
She is married and lives in Prince George's County, Maryland with her husband and their daughter. She loves to paint, read, and watch movies.

In today’s episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with Romantic Suspense Author Natasha D. Frazier. Around sixteen when her mother purchased a romance novel and left it lying around the house untouched, Natasha read it and a spark for the written word had been ignited.
Natasha believes that writing is one of her purposes and contributions to the world. She feels accomplished when she can get a few words written and like blah when life gets in the way. Her hope is that at the end of every novel, readers will feel like they’ve been wrapped in a cozy blanket with a mug of their favorite coffee/tea/warm drink.
When she isn’t reading or writing, she is likely watching movies with her family. Natasha resides in Richmond, TX with her husband and their three children. Her greatest joy and commitment is to her family who she hopes to inspire above all else. One of her many mottos in life is: Faith removes limitations.

In today's episode I had the pleasure of speaking with Spicy Romance Author Meg Becker. Meg received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Kansas, but she has known she'd be a writer since she wrote about a snowman in the first grade. Today, she finds herself at home in a field of sunflowers, by a lake in the mountain, or anywhere with a good view, but she resides in Kansas City with her amazing husband that is nothing like the broody men she writes about in her books. She's a sucker for a happy ending, and she can often be found reading with an iced coffee or glass of red wine, maybe both.
When she's not reading or writing spicy romance, Meg is likely learning a new hobby, cuddling with her two dogs and cat, or performing the soundtrack to RENT from behind the steering wheel of her car. During football season, she puts down her pen every Sunday to cheer for the Kansas City Chiefs.
She insists that one day she will write a collection of children's books, and she dreams of writing her first full-length play. Until then, she revels in the lives of her characters and the possibilities of the worlds she creates with her words.

Once a Midwest girl, always a Midwest girl, she supposes. Not enough snow for her liking, but at least they experience all four seasons.
Thanks to a copywriting job that didn’t actually provide 40 hours of work, Jenny wrote her first book not long after graduating with an English degree from Indiana University. You can only play solitaire for so long. Since that fateful day she hasn’t been able to STOP coming up with ideas and as such, has several young adult novels published (mostly thriller and fantasy).
