We discuss how his mentality and his surroundings changed then suddenly he was writing bones. You are in control of your own future. It is in your work ethic alone and your mentality that gets you through. We all have bad leadership. Shitty station commanders will always exist and shitty command members will always be there. But we can not blame others for our downfall we must take ownership of our own mistakes. Those surrounding us do play a major role but we can still do are damndest daily. Keep pushing. If you have an issue say something. Things don't get better if you keep your mouth shut. That person will just become someone elses shitty leader. Make the correction and hold them accountable.

Benny talks with Ian Smith the Co-Owner of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr New Jersey. We discuss his reason for keeping his gym open throughout the pandemic even after all the backlash. He has received countless phone calls from people disapproving of his actions but he's also received the thanks from his patrons. We discuss mental toughness and the need for a place like the gym for many. At the height of Covid19 small business were destroyed but he fought to stay open after everything and all the fines. It has been said that no amount of positive mental attitude will change recruiting duty. I beg to differ. We can sit here all day and complain about the shitty hand we've been dealt or we can power through. I will never negate the fact that times are rough and that there is a serious lack of training. That doesn't change the fact that many have a power attitude toward the duty and toward having a successful tour. Benny and Charles discuss his current tour of duty. FMAM and JJAS are the same as any time of year. Make it happen. Adapt and overcome. Stop making excuses about why your missing mission and just make it. Be real with yourself. Grads are out there you just aren't good at being in a direct market. You should always be in a direct market. Work your working file effectively and be systematic. It comes down to work ethic and a positive mental attitude. These are all things you have been told since boot camp but suddenly we forget them when we put deltas on. If you're a SNCOIC take care of your Marines. You're Marines won't make mission for you if all you do is make their lives harder. If you don't have their back why will they fight for you in the end? This is the same for the command. If you don't know your Marines on a personal level they will never "Buy In". Stop saying work hard now so we can get through FMAM/JJAS. No how about you just work hard 365 and prepare for the unexpected. There are Marines out there still writing 5 or more a month it's FMAM for them too.
If you find yourself still micromanaging your need a new tool box. Lead, mentor and inspire these Marines to make mission. They need to want to make mission. Will they do anything for you? Are they okay with you failing? ya buggin
