We discuss how his mentality and his surroundings changed then suddenly he was writing bones. You are in control of your own future. It is in your work ethic alone and your mentality that gets you through. We all have bad leadership. Shitty station commanders will always exist and shitty command members will always be there. But we can not blame others for our downfall we must take ownership of our own mistakes. Those surrounding us do play a major role but we can still do are damndest daily. Keep pushing. If you have an issue say something. Things don't get better if you keep your mouth shut. That person will just become someone elses shitty leader. Make the correction and hold them accountable.

We also discuss his thoughts on how to give back to the 8411 on the streets and also how to give that individual Station Commander control of their Stations. A lot of people fear loss of control and take away the Station Commanders ability to run an effective station. He said it all begins with yes. There is no one right way to do things especially on an ever changing duty like Recruiting. There is no one way because every individual Area of Operations is different. Get ready for some real raw conversation with Gunnery Sergeant Weaver. Sometimes the answer isn't "just Make ore TC's". We discuss the hustle and grind of a Centurion on Recruiting Duty in todays climate. In a world where people blame FMAM and JJAS on everything this Marine made it to becoming a Centurion. We discuss his battle rhythm and how he adapted it. Again I am by no means telling you to disobey direction from 8412's or command members. We are just discussing real world problems on the duty and confronting them head on. We discuss creating a solid Day Insight, Month Insight, Year Insight. Be proactive not reactive. Make mission not excuses. Take care of your Marines and take care of your mental health. First and foremost take care of one another.

Just like anywhere in the Marine Corps Recruiting Duty calls you to humble yourself real quick. Everyone talks about how much Recruiting Duty sucks but we don't discuss the positives. In this episode with Albert Ramos we discuss just that. We talk about his journey through his tour and his experiences. We discuss how he utilizes MC3 as a Realtor and as a GySgt of Marines out in the fleet. Leadership tells Marines Recruiting Duty sucks. We need to do a better job at 1 bettering the duty and 2 being there for our Marines. We do not treat the duty as a place we want to be. So the question is how do we fix the duty? We also discuss how to translate the Marine Corps experience to the applicant and the influencers. A lot of people fail at that.

We make choices in response to stress. We decide how we respond to Recruiting Duty. Take a moment to make an assessment of yourself. Right now. Are you doing all you can for your individual RSS? For your family? For yourself? Or are you lacking?! BE REAL

Retired 8412 "Mike" talks with Benny about a wide range of topics. We discuss a winning attitude and the mindset needed to be successful. From writing 3 back to back nuts to becoming a 8412 years later. We dive into humility and what he called stage 1. From being a newly promoted to Gunnery Sergeant to have a SNCOIC who was a Sergeant. We discuss the dynamic of rank structure and how the Marine Corps doesn't align with sales. Definitely not peanut butter and jelly. There is definitely an adjustment period for some that we don't warn new Recruiters about. We discuss those 1 man fighting holes. Those PCS's 4 hours away. The lack of Marine Corps Culture. We also discuss the many ideas from the "good idea fairy"

He speaks about his time as a Recruiter and reminds us "I've Been there too". This conversation was one of many great episodes. We discuss a lot of the stressors SNCOIC's face on the duty. Keep up the good work and keep grinding. Never quit and make mission.

Benny and Goose return for a follow up episode from Embrace The SUC EP 017. Now he has reached the end of his tour. He is now doing a change over with his replacement. We discuss the duty and his experience. We also discuss his thoughts on how it could have been better. We discuss the harsh reality of the "time Sheet". Have you found yourself saying "We have no quality of life. We work 7  days a week?" Sometimes we need to take personal accountability for our lack of production. It is what it is. Stop blaming the RI shop and the command members. Sometimes it just us and a sincere lack of accountability. BE REAL.

We all live through the duty in a different manner and take things differently. It's important we discuss mental health and what's going on daily. As an 8411 you are in constant contact with people flooding your mind. We need to take time to speak about what we go through and that's what this episode is all about. Benny and Jordan talk about what a winning team looks like and how to become one. There is no one way to make it happen on recruiting duty. Everyone has a different way to make it work but the basis needs to be MC3. I firmly believe if you truly push yourself and follow the steps you can be successful. He talks about his mentor who was a MSgt who spoke highly of the duty. Recruiting Duty can be very different when you are exposed to positive stories. Unfortunately we tend to only hear the horror stories. That's why I am here. I want to share both sides of the story. Lets find a way to be better through a duty like this. Let's talk about the change and positive outlooks. It can't all be bad. Let's make this a place of growth and prosperity. Let's make being an 8411 mean something. Be proud to wear that ribbon and talk about the good times. Let's change the stigma and make it a place people want to return to. As of recently I have heard a lot of things in the background so I wanted to address them formally. I wanted to explain to my listeners and those listening without purpose the purpose of the podcast. Listen at the end of the day. If you have an opinion you're welcome on the podcast anytime. I have a seat reserved for you right next to me. Lastly if the shoe fits we're it. If you feel attacked maybe you're the toxic leader we're speaking about. If your name has been said it was never meant to be in a bad way. Listen with purpose and look into the context. Also I want to cordially invite any 8412 or command member on the podcast. Why? Because without you MCRC doesn't exist. Come join me as we try to navigate through the duty. The good and the bad. To the no show and the ghost if you're reading this you're still welcome to be a guest. Our views align and would make for a great episode. It has been said that no amount of positive mental attitude will change recruiting duty. I beg to differ. We can sit here all day and complain about the shitty hand we've been dealt or we can power through. I will never negate the fact that times are rough and that there is a serious lack of training. That doesn't change the fact that many have a power attitude toward the duty and toward having a successful tour. Benny and Charles discuss his current tour of duty. Charles discusses his attitude on the duty and his short falls at time. We discuss things that work for him and how he finds himself being successful through mroads. Welcome to another episode of The SUC. Today Benny and Matt discuss a wide range of topics. We spend sometime discussing FMAM and how it has become just an excuse for people to suck. FMAM and JJAS are the same as any time of year. Make it happen. Adapt and overcome. Stop making excuses about why your missing mission and just make it. Be real with yourself. Grads are out there you just aren't good at being in a direct market. You should always be in a direct market. Work your working file effectively and be systematic. It comes down to work ethic and a positive mental attitude. These are all things you have been told since boot camp but  suddenly we forget them when we put deltas on. If you're a SNCOIC take care of your Marines. You're Marines won't make mission for you if all you do is make their lives harder. If you don't have their back why will they fight for you in the end? This is the same for the command. If you don't know your Marines on a personal level they will never "Buy In". Stop saying work hard now so we can get through FMAM/JJAS. No how about you just work hard 365 and prepare for the unexpected. There are Marines out there still writing 5 or more a month it's FMAM for them too.
