Compact was established in 2016 to address the full spectrum of substance misuse in Shelby County through prevention, intervention, and education.   Law enforcement officers are assigned to the unit from municipalities across the county.  The Compact team is implementing strategies aimed at reducing substance misuse and promoting mental wellness by:  educating citizens  on risk factors; identifying at-risk youth; promoting resources; implementing new prevention strategies; and using community-based law enforcement approaches.
